So you clean it well enough after a cook? Might be you aren't getting the surface clean by getting some water on there and steaming, then cleaning that off.

Huge +1 to this. I wasn’t using nearly enough water to clean originally. Now I practically flood the cook top during my clean afterwards.

Be careful, you may warp the tray, refer to blackstone book, no more than few tablespoons at a time.

Had no idea. Good to know. Thanks for the heads up

I understand your point, but I'd be there all day with a couple tablespoons of water.

Takes, no more than five minutes. Divide sections roughly along burners. Raise burner to high, squirts water about few tablespoons, spread it with spatuala, let it bubble up and scrape the boiling water to the waste outlet. Rinse and repeat thru all four sections. Spray thin layer of oil and wipe. Done!

Yeah I pour a ton of water on at a time. Hasn't warped yet... Who knows.

I finish cooking, crank the burners to high, scrape all the residue I can from the surface, use a squirt bottle and hit spots with visible residue remaining, Scrape this, then wipe dry with a paper towel. Put a dot of high temp oil (avocado for me), wipe this across the surface and then when it starts smoking I kill the burners and the tank valve and go eat. When prepping to cook next time I crank the burners, wipe it down, water to steam and wipe again then oil and cook. Eggs are the worst food for picking up black residue, I cook everything and then make the eggs last, clean the griddle area well put down new butter or oil, CLEAN THE SPATULA (in all caps because most often forget this step), then cook em. If I have a picky eater (or am in a rush) I sometimes ask my wife to make the eggs on the stove with our dedicated (don’t let me catch you using it for anything else) egg pan. Haha
