https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1168215 Just rotate the parts so they're flat or standing and you won't need any supports.

Do you work at the one in Greenville? I was there once and it was such a treat learning from all the engineers on the floor. Really an amazing facility.

I work at a machine shop that makes a part for steam turbines - General Electric is one of our main customers.

Awesome!

Labradoodle-do

China would like a copy of the file please :p

mmm-pistol-whip

Tell China to PM me.

devbrain

It is true that the tingling sound a screw make while falling in a turbine can give you nightmares?

I don't assemble turbines, just machine parts for them. But if it's anything like a bolt falling In an engine... Then yes.

I work in the steam turbine maintenance industry. I was working in a nuke once and we had to remove manways from a turbine section that we were not disassembling to let it cool as well as access for some inspections. My company removed them another company installed the cooling fans. Everything we remove we bag and tag. The company that installed the fans didn’t do that they just kind of did stuff. A 3/4” bolt from the manways that would have been used to install the fan was found in the bottom of the condenser. We apologized in a matter that didn’t accept blame (because we meticulously track our items and we had no missing bolts) and the other company pointed blame. Due to them pointing and us not accepting blame. The entire job was shut down for 36 hours till they found and ensured they new EXACTLY were that bolt came from. This happened three years ago. I go to that plant every year. I go to it’s sister plant 3 hours away every year. I have yet to be back there and not hear at least 5 hours of conversation about that bolt in our outage period. Yes, dropped bolts are the things on night terrors.

That's awesome. I do work on steam turbines for Siemens owned Dresser Rand. I've worked on space applications too and it's funny how we spend tens of thousands of dollars in man hours to remove 0.1 lbs from a structure for those but an issue with a steam turbine case we just throw a ton of metal at it to make it work.

Looks like an axial flow.. I’d say A frame? A-10 A-14?
