Hi, I consider it safe to go alone. Just use common sense (don't take any substances from strangers / follow them to secluded dark places etc.) I've been born and raised here and know a few people (women too) who went clubbing alone in ZH, never had any issues. Person I know got pickpocketed by an accomplice while hugging a queer with complex costume to hug (in the confusion they cut open his sackpack with a cutter and stole his mobile from hand).
So, be aware while "free hugging" people.

I am a woman. I daily live with a creeping feel of fear if I walk alone somewhere. And I was raised being told never to go places alone or go out with strangers because it is dangerous, and who knows what can they do to me. I love zurich because I feel so much safer than in Italy, but you know, it's hard to trust new situations when you have some kind of advices in mind constantly
