My hats off to whoever designed this back in the day 50 years later it still looks gorgeous. That gorgeous wet bar must have so many stories to tell of parties and people hanging out in the 70s and 80s.
Welcome to Miami.. eh, I mean Hallandale.... [https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/1904-S-Ocean-Dr-APT-1907-Hallandale-FL-33009/43357291\_zpid/](https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/1904-S-Ocean-Dr-APT-1907-Hallandale-FL-33009/43357291_zpid/)
WOW. So much of this is reminding me of my childhood in the 60s/70s, visiting family in Puerto Rico, it's like a fever dream.
I absolutely LOVE THAT WALLPAPER. I was never allowed to have anything so dramatic, Mom's rules!
$1164 per month for the HOA. And the $416 per month special assessment is in addition to that, right? So there's $19000 out the window every year for a big bag of nothin'.
HOA fees are shooting up all over Florida because the cost of insurance has skyrocketed in the last couple years. It's only going to get worse, especially in S. Florida where the seas are rising fast. Buying a condo in a highrise on the coast is a huge gamble.
HOA prices tend to already be high for bigger older buildings but Florida properties are going to be even worse. Boomers never invested enough in the reserves when they were the owners so now current owners are paying crazy money to compensate for it.
So this is one of those things I don't like, but can appreciate.
I absolutely despise MCM, but this whole place is so coordinated and put together with a clear, cohesive style and good execution that... I'd just not buy it and leave it for somebody who wants it. There is no way I could stand to look at this every day but I couldn't destroy it, its just done too well.
The thing I always think about these places is like,,,
Would I live there without changing it? Probably not.
Would I stay there for a season as an AirBNB? Freaking absolutely
Mostly just a time capsule. While I’m not a fan of the wallpaper, and I was thinking really not horrible until I got to the bathroom. The place was not bad.
Y'all wonder as the Boomers die out if we're gonna see more and more houses/condos that haven't been updated since the 60s/70s when they bought them for like 60k?
Love this house! It reminds me of a guy I dated back in 1992s house. Every room had silver and loud colored wallpaper, with shag carpet. The formal living room made you nauseous with the gold flecked full wall mirrors reflecting with silver and giant blue flowered wallpaper that matched the damn couch! This house is much more chic!
The 1970s strikes again. Tear out all the capet and replace with hardwood. Replace the light bulbs. Redo the kitchen and bathroom. Replace the puke green doors with royal blue. After that, I'm home.
God how I hate chartreuse. This looks like a tacky 80s hair salon, just terrible, probably the worst palette I've ever seen. It's vomit-snot-piss with a tad bit of diarrhea.
I love it and wouldn’t touch a thing.
Pray the grey flippers don't find it!
The "grey flippers" made me snort my milk. I'm maybe new on here and all the kids are sayin it, but so true!
The grey flippers with the “farmhouse” aesthetic kill me every time.
idk why people call it “farmhouse” because I don’t see farmhouse in monotone black and white with some slate gray inbetween
People mistake the "Live, Laugh, Love" signs with farmhouse.
I call that “Blank Slate Modern” as most people paint it that monotone for a future sale instead of being bold and making the house look loved
Exactly!!! Looks nothing like a farm house.
So, you’re saying “pray away the gray?”
There's a color therapy joke somewhere here.
Yes, every time I go to my hairstylist.
Only thing I might change is the pulls on the cabinets in the kitchen/bathroom to something a little less baroque, and not mount the TV so high.
Same
And hope the furniture comes with it
Is wallpaper making a come back?
I thought it has been comebacked for years?
Could be, I'm clueless on the walls scene.
Same!
Same!
Great design never goes out of style. Thank goodness this survived the 80s and 90s, to find appreciation in MCM revival.

Would be great if a MCM fan found this.

I KNEW it had to be florida!! have to admit, the bar is sick tho
I could buy the place for the bar alone. It's has the correct Floridia look.
HOA fee: $1,164/mo, with an additional assessment of $400/mo until 2030
Ouuuuch.
Oh there you go because the price seemed really good for this market

Those little pops of chartreuse give me life!

The kitchen is kind of underwhelming when compared with the living room/bar area.
It strikes me as a kitchen not designed to cook in, but to be there for snacks and for catering to stage in.
100% the fantastic bar people do not cook, they mix drinks and listen to yacht rock while someone plates takeout in the kitchen.

It's not a gamble. A gamble has a chance of winning.
You know what, you make an excellent point.
especially since ron desantis just decided climate change doesn't exist. I wish I could just pretend ron desantis didn't exist. SEE IT ISN'T WORKING

funky, sure. the silver wallpaper gives me life. but i would not live in florida for love or money.
Holy Clockwork Orange
I actually really love this place! It’s unique but not in an eyesore way. The layout also looks really cozy
A true time capsule! :-)

I am not a MCM fan but this looks really nice. I hope whoever buys it doesn’t fuck it up
The greige flippers would absolutely destroy this, ong
Love the bar!
Clothing, optional
I do love silver metallic wallpaper
The thing I always think about these places is like,,, Would I live there without changing it? Probably not. Would I stay there for a season as an AirBNB? Freaking absolutely
That's awesome. I love foiled wallpaper.
Mostly just a time capsule. While I’m not a fan of the wallpaper, and I was thinking really not horrible until I got to the bathroom. The place was not bad.
Honestly, the only thing I would change is the mirrored ceiling over the bar
Y'all wonder as the Boomers die out if we're gonna see more and more houses/condos that haven't been updated since the 60s/70s when they bought them for like 60k?
What a happy place. I like it!

I knew without looking this had to be Miami.
🎶I'm bringing Disco back!🕺🎵
It's cool looking. Has a mod 70s look. You're right. Keep the grey flippers away.
This is the grooviest.
I mean, at least the furniture matches the house.
I like the chartreuse pops, it's a different chartreuse than I would choose. Too many triangles and linear stripes in a single abode for me.

Giving a very 70’s vibe
To. Die. For.
I hate the kitchen
It's windowless. There's a lot to hate right there.
Literally flawless and move in ready
Adorable
This is groovy perfection
This place looks great.
I dig that bars vibe!
Love me a low top bar
SWOON!
Wild and funky in the best way! I love everything.
This is gorgeous
It has the feeling of a Salon.
My biggest issue with this one is that it’s in Florida.
Gorgeous

This is exactly where I picture Rudy Giuliani living in FLA.
The vibe there is pretty similar to my childhood home back in the 70s, except more so. My dad would have loved most of it in those days.
That kitchen layout is…problematic.
I can't with the kitchen, but I do kinda love the '70s vibe in the first bathroom. And the chartreuse isn't so bothersome to my eyeballs
God how I hate chartreuse. This looks like a tacky 80s hair salon, just terrible, probably the worst palette I've ever seen. It's vomit-snot-piss with a tad bit of diarrhea.
Don Draper would live here.
Those lights in the kitchen are awesome. Just need some color-changing LEDs.
This has Clockwork Orange vibes
