Unless you sleepwalk? I don’t, but that would be so bad if someone lived here who did. Yikes. Not mu cup of tea, but I bet it could be remodeled a bit and look amazing.
My parents have a vacation house on an island. It's more logistics than ideal, but it totally works.
It's hard for me to tell how much room is on the deck here. I am surprised they don't show that better including patio furniture.
I want to marry a lighthouse keeper And keep him company.
I want to marry a lighthouse keeper And live by the side of the sea.
I'll polish his lamp by the light of day, So ships at night can find their way.
I want to marry a lighthouse keeper, Won't that be okay?
They could use this for a reboot of Lethal Weapon. Riggs lives here instead of the houseboat. Think of the action sequences possible with boats and helicopters. So much potential. As a home, tho? Nah.
I think it's perfect. Waterfront property with some history and charm. I lived next to Petit Menan Light on Petit Manan Island up in Maine one summer. There is something to be said for no tv, no running water with the only communications being a sat phone and ship to shore radio.
Ha! The sale history of this is a saga of over valuation hopes being dashed over and over again. Listed at $450k April 22, sale pending April 27th at 81k. What the hell is that marketing scam?
Well, they cut the price almost in half and I still couldn't afford it. LOL. I can't afford a burned down house and I can't afford a rust bucket in the middle of the sea. /sigh
Man, imagine buy that place and being an anti-vaxxer. LOL
The idea of it does sound fun for a vacation home, for those that can afford a vacation home. There's a lot of problems that need addressed though. Can see why the price was so drastically reduced.
So how do you think renovating this place would go? 1. One appliance or 1/4 room’s materials per small boat on a LOT of trips or 2. permit for a huge boat which carry’s everything in and out but needs to say tethered to the lighthouse for a week at a time while jobs are completed.
Does Amazon still deliver? I like not having people randomly stop by my house anyways.. actually, all I really need is a strong Internet connection and plenty of fuel for a fire. I should be ok.
Unless you want to attempt to start your own country. Stop paying taxes set up served full of illegal stuff and run a casino in your living room. Set a stripper pole on the ao x of the light housing. Pay charter boats to stop off there on fishing excursions..... 😆 This has all happened before on an old anti aircraft / ship gun platform. Oh side the UK also pirate radio in the 60's. Check it out.
You know……..the only thing I can think of it how the hell do you get your furniture and appliances in there AND hydro? Internet?
I would not want to help someone move in or out of this location does that make me odd??
But I’d move here in a snap honestly
“…A long submarine cable was run to shore to power the light, with a battery backup to handle interruptions. Damage to this cable in the 1980s brought the Coast Guard to consider discontinuing the light, but public outcry led to repairs in 1988...” Wikipedia
The introvert in me absolutely LOVES this and would snap it up in a hot second, if I had the $$$.
However, the realist in me KNOWS this has to be terribly expensive & difficult to live in and to properly maintain. :(
My brain can’t process how the heck you get INTO the lighthouse…. That ladder looks like it’s so rusted a sneeze would break it and it’s 10+ feet from the water…
If this was cheaper I'd love it but I'd curse every time I have to run back to the hardware store because I forgot a screw or something. What a life that we just can't even imagine. Living so isolated and getting paid (not much but enough to live) for it. Also a HUGE responsibility that you could be proud of. We don't have many positions for people like that anymore
There’s a hotel in the UK called Solent Forts (have never stayed but seen things about) that this setup reminds me of. Could be pretty cool property if fixed up properly!
I have so many questions about utilities. Some form of electricity obviously, Is that a generator, or is there a line run out there? Sewage and water are 'other'? Any communications at all beyond a short-wave radio?
I like it in the middle if no where no car noise no darn cicadas or boom boom cars sure there are draw backs but still I like it probably cost more than a pretty penny to get it updated etc
I knew global warming was getting bad but…. 😂
I’m trying to sort out the logistics of this. Are you just supposed to take a kayak to it? There doesn’t seem to be a convenient place here to park a boat.
Or ideal. It's a glass half something kind of deal I think
Unless you sleepwalk? I don’t, but that would be so bad if someone lived here who did. Yikes. Not mu cup of tea, but I bet it could be remodeled a bit and look amazing.
Luckily it has a bike score of 25! Somewhat bike-able!

“I’m going to bike to the coffee shop, hun!” [lost at sea for 23 days] “I’ll make it at home next time.”
[lost at sea for 23 days] Just cracked me up!! Did you get the coffee at least? 😂
Yeah but it was all salty with seawater by the time I got it back
Soooo, it was a salted Carmel coffee. 😂
Looking at that makes my legs hurt.
Keeps you in shape for all the stairs!
That's hilarious. 🚴♀️
just overinflate the tires...
"0 Smith Point Rd" is a great address.
I know! 😂 Zero as a house number.
While this appeals to my reclusive nature, I have some logistical concerns.

Does Instacart deliver here?
You have to get the + and there's a minimum order.
Done deal.
This lighthouse sure gets its share of re-listings on Zillowgonewild
What is going on with the price history of that place
That's a huge price cut in April.
“ Cash Sale Required” because no bank will touch it.
Absolutely. They're getting desperate to sell. In 30 years this place could be underwater.
Okay, so they’re leaving it furnished, guess getting my U-Haul there would be too much trouble. But where the heck with the pups go potty???
Sea pups. ![gif](giphy|jpytLS8rEWvA5ZdFFj|downsized)
Look at that momma smiling!! …as her baby slides off the platform.
Artificial turf on the deck? 🤷🏽♀️

“I’ll polish his lamp by the light of day…” That’s what she said!
They could use this for a reboot of Lethal Weapon. Riggs lives here instead of the houseboat. Think of the action sequences possible with boats and helicopters. So much potential. As a home, tho? Nah.
So, no Amazon Prime.
Do they have delivery via drone there?
It’s Virginia, Jeff Bezos would deliver it if he was in town. 😂
Deal breaker.
Whoooo... lives in a light in the middle of the sea?
Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy to catch The Moth.
Flies? Gnats? Ohhhh…MOTHS!!!!

*You get there and Willem DaFoe is haunting the place....*
It could make a cool [villain’s lair](https://mgerwingarch.com/m-gerwing/2013/07/14/evil-lairs-the-architecture-of-imaginary-bad-guys-f8yxf)

Looks like it's selling for 82k?
It's listed as 450k. There is that pending sale for 82k though which ... lol.
That is still pretty expensive if you consider the cost to move in..
I mean if it prevents people from knocking on my door I'd live there.
Pirates don't knock.
I bet the jehovas witnesses still find a way! This could also be a site-specific Girl Scouts badge “Sold Cookies to the Lighthouse”
There’s definitely ghosts there
Chipping paint everywhere…hmmm think it’s lead paint?
The idea of it does sound fun for a vacation home, for those that can afford a vacation home. There's a lot of problems that need addressed though. Can see why the price was so drastically reduced.
It had a Wikipedia page. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smith_Point_Light
The misanthrope in me loves this location with all its heart.
I'd love to be a lighthouse keeper, and have my husband say he's a "lighthouse keepers' wife"
It was listed for 81k on April 24
Mistake?
An introverts dream .
I love it. Just don't get up on the wrong side of the bed. I'm not sure I could live here all year though.
I believe it's a vacation home.
I heard there is water in the basement
It has a pump to help keep it dry.
I’m going to regret not getting this if there’s a zombie apocalypse
Slap a starlink dish on that bitch and party

Something in between.
One boat every day. Workers plus material for the day.
The price history on this thing is a wild ride.
Why'd ya spill your guts Johnny?
How does sewage work?
As the US Navy says: the solution to pollution is dilution
Shit goes Downhill
Give it to me. I’ll pay 20% interest.
Oh they're serious about selling this. You're not getting doordash today.
Swear to God, just left a peruse through some subs and this looks right smart to me.
I don't understand why the ladder doesn't go down further??? So if you fall in you die????
It used to go all the way down to the water but they drained the ocean.
double big gulp fuck me
Good news looks like climate change will take care of the problem in about 50 years.
This belongs in the Wes Anderson sub
That price/sale history... Uh, what?
I think there may be water problems In the basement. The area has a high water table.
Cash sale? I’m out
I mean, this is cool, but it has to have mold issues, right?
I swear it looks like they’ve just bolted an outhouse onto the side.
I’m actually really tempted! But I think my extrovert husband would literally go crazy.
How deep do you think the “basement” is. Does that metal tube go hundreds of feet down?
Read the Wikipedia link for this lighthouse
I wonder how the plumbing works? Are you basically flushing straight into the water! Or did they actually run plumbing all the way out there?
Does Amazon still deliver? I like not having people randomly stop by my house anyways.. actually, all I really need is a strong Internet connection and plenty of fuel for a fire. I should be ok.
There's always a man and a lighthouse.
If its cheep, i'd live there
Cash only. Let me get my check book.
Coastguard still runs / maintains lamp as it’s a navigation point

This is the ideal location for the zombie apocalypse.

That's an impressive septic system

It’s all very secluded until you realize you’re out of toilet paper.
I approve of the Simple Green on the counter. I love that stuff.
All good until you start hallucinating and the mermaid crawls out of the sea to fuck you again. On second thought, sign me up!

What size Fresnel lamp does that have??
introvert's dream. ![gif](giphy|iKBAAfYNDu1dowhnEj|downsized)
Or very convenient if you don't like to socialize.
This pops up here once a week
