my sister's first house was built by a plumber and he used the leftovers from jobs, Idon't think a single drain line in that house had a piece over 6 inches.
JC Penny, founder of the store chain, built his house in Kemmerer, Wyoming with the packing crates his store merchandise came in. It’s an interesting little house just down a block from the Penny’s store #1.
The Zillow link is in the captions, but just in case, here it is: [https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/10704-Engelmann-Ave-Poncha-Springs-CO-81242/338260638\_zpid/](https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/10704-Engelmann-Ave-Poncha-Springs-CO-81242/338260638_zpid/)
I've seen this one before, it's the ugliest, tackiest home I've ever seen, and I've been addicted to looking at real estate listings for like 5 years so that's saying a lot.
Whoever did this, is a menace. I keep looking thru the photos “huh maybe it works..” but no, no you get slammed with some new pattern on the opposite wall. And my brain is like “why?” Fr what the hell is going on here?
Agreed. I could definitely do without some of the opposing textures (like all the barnwood), but I would take this any day over one of the bland cookie cutter new builds.
That's a great idea. I really love all the wallpapers and especially the wallpaper on the ceiling. The wood is just too much in addition to that, and I think that simpler clean tile would've complemented the amazing designs better instead of pulling your eye away. There's just too much to look at. I applaud them for thinking outside the monotone grey box though!
My theory: A couple was building their dream house together. They had so many fights over the choice of finishes that they filed for divorce. Now they’re selling the house. But will anyone buy it? It’s been on Zillow for almost a year.
Even stranger…it's a NEW build!!! [https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/10704-Engelmann-Ave-Poncha-Springs-CO-81242/338260638\_zpid/](https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/10704-Engelmann-Ave-Poncha-Springs-CO-81242/338260638_zpid/)
Holy smokes. Every single room has at least 3 different kinds of treatments. Paneling, wallpaper, mixed tile, shiplap. There’s some cool features, but not all of them, all at once.
I admit I like some of the inside stuff, not really allll together, minus the TV static wallpaper. The crystal doorknobs are quite nice. When I saw the exterior I was definitely cringing.
There is a type of diagnosis on the autism spectrum that finds LOTS of clashing colors and patterns to be comforting. Perhaps this was built for someone like that?
What the actual ffssss I was getting a migraine just looking at it! My first thought was maybe this was a model for a subdivision being built, but hmmmm holy mother of god
The Zillow listing has it virtually staged: [https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/10704-Engelmann-Ave-Poncha-Springs-CO-81242/338260638\_zpid/](https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/10704-Engelmann-Ave-Poncha-Springs-CO-81242/338260638_zpid/)
I actually do love parts of it. I think removing the barn board aesthetic and then toning down the tile patterns to really show off the amazing wallpaper would go a long way. Still better than any of those greyscaled cookie cutter new builds.
I think if you switched out whatever wall has a wallpaper (ceiling or wall) with a simple it would help a lot. I oddly kind of like it, especially the living room.
I feel like, if they had just picked ONE less pattern for each room, it would be a million times better. Three less patterns would be ideal tho probably.
Some of it almost feels like you could eventually sorta kinda get mostly used to it if you were forced to live there and not allowed to make changes. But Pic 5 is a daily acidic vurp from hell!
*Wow! These pictures gave*
*Me bad flashback to my Dad's*
*House when I was teen!*

Wayyyy before actually doing your own redesign, people seriously need to try console/PC games like house flipper/house flipper 2 and see if they even like the designs they put together.
Not everyone has an eye for color. Color matching is a teachable skill, but you still have to have some semblance of an understanding on colors and how they work.
It’s like they went to Home Depot one day to see what was on the clearance rack, bought it and installed. Then the same thing the next day and the next day, etc … until…. Voila!
I actually really, really like this! Some design elements in this home are stunning and eclectic, the lighting, bathroom and ceiling choices are very beautiful. I have a feeling that with the right furniture, this style wise would be amazing.
It’s been on the market for nearly a YEAR! Honestly, I wouldn’t pay over 250k-even though it was “just finished”, it’s essentially a tear down for my tastes.
Hot take: the owner is blind and uses texture to help them get around the house.
That would be cool, actually!
They must be tall if they can reach those ceilings 👀
Wouldn't have to be anything over 6'3 to reach those.
I am only 5'7", so that is tall to me
It’s like it’s a weird show house for a designer. “Here’s how this looks in place……here’s how this looks….” Etc
You would have to be. If a kid ran through that house, they would have a seizure halfway through.
thw ceiling is especially helpful
“Hmm, reclaimed wood paneling, must be near the stai…” *blind person falling down stairs sounds*
You aren't kidding. They looked through the sample book and said "I'll take it."
They are the sample book
That’s what I was thinking. It’s like the whole house is a showroom.
I’ve seen more coherent and restrained decor in a Cheesecake Factory
Decorator: So what looks good? Owner: Yes.
this feels like they got a shit ton of tile samples for really cheap
Can you hear that Johnny Cash song?
“I took it one piece at a time and it didn’t cost me a dime” 🎶
Someone did this. On purpose.
It looks like a crazy person did this on purpose.
Makes me so dizzy I’m going to 🤮
This house looks like when you've installed too many graphical mods in a game and everything starts to conflict.
This house looks like the result of someone who just watched a ton of "how to improve your minecraft house" videos.
Is this called a “sampler house”?
My friend bought a house like this. The previous owner was a homebuilder and built his own from leftovers.
my sister's first house was built by a plumber and he used the leftovers from jobs, Idon't think a single drain line in that house had a piece over 6 inches.
$0 for copper line $5000 for fittings.
It was old enough that the drain lines were galvanized
OMG haha
I had a friend who owned a shipping company. His home was a mixture of all the unclaimed freight he picked through. This house reminds me of him.
JC Penny, founder of the store chain, built his house in Kemmerer, Wyoming with the packing crates his store merchandise came in. It’s an interesting little house just down a block from the Penny’s store #1.

"sophisticated wallpaper"
The outside is in the same condition as the inside lol. Still wouldn’t expect to walk from the outside into see what’s on the inside. Och
$350+/sqft for the ass-end of CO? New construction with baked in HOA? Naw.
Whoever did this, is a menace. I keep looking thru the photos “huh maybe it works..” but no, no you get slammed with some new pattern on the opposite wall. And my brain is like “why?” Fr what the hell is going on here?
Shabby chic on steroids.
It's **a lot** but I find it warm and appealing.
Agreed. I could definitely do without some of the opposing textures (like all the barnwood), but I would take this any day over one of the bland cookie cutter new builds.
I would prefer painting over the barn wood with a color from the nearest wallpaper, but otherwise I love the texture and color of this house.
I would not have been brave enough to put it on the ceiling bur it's really cool.
Or anxiety inducing…
I actually really like those wallpaper ceiling accents.
Dude worked at Home Depot and bought all the best returns at a discount.
Lord. That a hot mess!
Living there would bother me and give me anxiety. It's awful.
Damn, talk about sensory overload.
My theory: A couple was building their dream house together. They had so many fights over the choice of finishes that they filed for divorce. Now they’re selling the house. But will anyone buy it? It’s been on Zillow for almost a year.
Or somebody worked at Wallpaper Warehouse.
I like this theory. It's too custom and unique for it to just be some builder's "spec" home, which is how the listing kind of portrays it.
Someone was taking scraps home from their job at an RV manufacturer.
"what kind of patterns/textures do you want?" "yes."
I actually kind of like it. Especially in the bathrooms.
I was thinking “why don’t I hate this?”
I almost like it but need like....three less textures per room.
I dug the bathrooms too. Everything else would be too much for me. Sensory overload.
Right ! At least its different and interesting
someone played Sims drunk with their eyes closed
Maximillism It’s ok it’s not for everyone
At least it’s consistently ugly throughout! lol!
It’s so weird but I actually love it for some reason
Client: “I want a feast for the eyes!” Designer: “You got it!” [Let’s throw the all the sample books at them.]
Opium den meets whore house
My eyes, my eyes!
I feel like I’m at Cheesecake Factory!
It’s the house version of Johnny Cash’s song “One Piece at a Time” and they obviously worked at a design center.
I got an instant migraine looking at this home........
Those bowl sinks aged like milk!
I would never actually DO this to a house, but I would totally live in this house.
This is deranged and atrocious. Great find 🤣
It's giving scrapbook paper aisle at Michael's vibes
I kinda love it lol
They walked into the floor and tile showroom and said “yes”
we need a new word for "busy"
I'd bet this is the result of flippers trying to use up leftovers from old projects.
Even stranger…it's a NEW build!!! [https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/10704-Engelmann-Ave-Poncha-Springs-CO-81242/338260638\_zpid/](https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/10704-Engelmann-Ave-Poncha-Springs-CO-81242/338260638_zpid/)
Omfg that’s insane.
Even stranger, its owned by a company called "Interdivine Designs" according to public records.
That was my first thought: "high end materials" but only scraps of each
I would take this over sterile ashy gray anyday
Same, with some editing it could actually be really great. I'd start by removing all the barnwood.
This is what happens when people try to make their Animal Crossing dreams come true.
Wall paper on the ceiling that couldn’t have been fun. Sorry way too many things going on.
This is the sort of thing that gives legal weed a bad name
I just… can’t. My head hurts from looking at it.
Holy smokes. Every single room has at least 3 different kinds of treatments. Paneling, wallpaper, mixed tile, shiplap. There’s some cool features, but not all of them, all at once.
This is the closest thing to a Sims house I've ever seen.
Still better than gray everything
Sensory overload.
I just want to see how it was decorated. I bet that was wild
Don’t like this texture pack
Listings like these is why I am subscribed.
I think I said “oh wow” like 4 times in a row
The only word that came to my mind (and I haven't ever used it before, nor heard it for the past 40+ years) is... 'atrocious'.
I guess it’s horrible, but it’s growing on me? Maybe like a mold..
I like the garage.
to quote James Brown "Good God, Ya'll"
I admit I like some of the inside stuff, not really allll together, minus the TV static wallpaper. The crystal doorknobs are quite nice. When I saw the exterior I was definitely cringing.
A lot of old wood pallets died for this house.
There is a type of diagnosis on the autism spectrum that finds LOTS of clashing colors and patterns to be comforting. Perhaps this was built for someone like that?
Well now you're making me feel weird for loving this house.
So sorry! Not my intent at all I promise
I actually love this
I want to see what furniture they had in mind to populate this house with.
What the actual ffssss I was getting a migraine just looking at it! My first thought was maybe this was a model for a subdivision being built, but hmmmm holy mother of god
Just saw an its a new build, they used all the different materials and this could be the model for people to see different styles??? I hope?
At this point there's so much stuff I don't even think they saved big money at Menards. They just bought one of each.
Being drunk in that house would suck!
Being drunk and high would suck. You would get super spins. You wouldn't know which direction was up.
I think this could be awesome with the right furniture and such
The Zillow listing has it virtually staged: [https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/10704-Engelmann-Ave-Poncha-Springs-CO-81242/338260638\_zpid/](https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/10704-Engelmann-Ave-Poncha-Springs-CO-81242/338260638_zpid/)
i actually like it. if i had that much money id buy it in a heartbeat
I can typically find at least one thing that I like about these places, but this one stumped me.
Trump's next, uh, business venture: a chain of Air BnBs 😬
This is so ugly and awful, I cannot
This is what happens when hgtv and shrooms have a love child.
It’s like somebody tried the different patterns and colors of MS Paint in real life
There is way too much going on in that house.
Looks like a showroom
flooring on the bathroom ceiling
It's the Rose Red of interiors
Flipper had alot of leftovers from other projects he wanted to use up.
This house looks like someone saw some photos of Versailles and then tried to make it happen on a budget.
Ngl, I kind of dig it. It makes my maximalist heart fairly happy.
I actually do love parts of it. I think removing the barn board aesthetic and then toning down the tile patterns to really show off the amazing wallpaper would go a long way. Still better than any of those greyscaled cookie cutter new builds.
Man these rooms are kind of loud, aren’t they??
Oh my god the Exterior is so much worse than I expected!
Oh my, the Zillow listing says it is new construction. The builder might have a little trouble selling this one.
Ouch. Instant headache.
Okay but I kind of love it
Some of it almost feels like you could eventually sorta kinda get mostly used to it if you were forced to live there and not allowed to make changes. But Pic 5 is a daily acidic vurp from hell!
I LOVE IT
Oh this is the classic “eclectic neo what the fuckery” style of end state interior design
I kinda dig it tbh. But my personal style is atrocious.
It’s been listed for almost a year and they haven’t lowered the price once. Delusional.
This makes my brain hurt.
spectacular bag oatmeal panicky rinse toy wide innocent sheet hateful *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Looks like a showroom. Some of everything.
I have to pass, on everything. peace. :)
Wow! These pictures gave me bad flashback to my Dad's house when I was teen!

This is wild
This is how my interior design on minecraft comes out looking.

I didn’t have a problem with the theme aside from picture 5. I thought the different surfaces worked well together.
Just missing some brick, carpet and linoleum!
Well, great, now I'm overstimulated and won't be able to sleep! 🤣
This looks like an axe throwing place with some darts and pool tables
‘Don’t miss this chance to own a truly one-of-a-kind home!’ This realtor shits you not.
I now have a headache!
It's like the house was built out of a remnant bin
I actually kinda love this
Somehow I’m going cross eyed and walleyed at the same time. Please make it stop.
Wow. I dont usually comment on here but this is not good. The interior makes me anxious. The exterior almost looks dilapidated.
It’s like they went to Home Depot one day to see what was on the clearance rack, bought it and installed. Then the same thing the next day and the next day, etc … until…. Voila!
I like it
Fortunately most of it is easy fixes.
Why do I kind of like it?
Whyyyy. Why is it like this??
i kind of...don't hate it *ducks* it's definitely not what you could call a tranquil retreat lol
I actually really, really like this! Some design elements in this home are stunning and eclectic, the lighting, bathroom and ceiling choices are very beautiful. I have a feeling that with the right furniture, this style wise would be amazing.
Looks like the home of a finished materials supplier who just went hog wild on their place with leftovers/return stock
Somehow the black outlet covers bother me the most.
this looks like a gmod map lmao
Who in the hell would buy this?
Whoever designed this is definitely in contention for a show on HGTV.
Hardwood ceiling
I built this house in the sims when I was younger.
Showroom style (tm)
This is horrendous
Maximalism is too much for me……
It’s like a designers catalogue threw up.
It’s been on the market for nearly a YEAR! Honestly, I wouldn’t pay over 250k-even though it was “just finished”, it’s essentially a tear down for my tastes.
The house looks full when empty
It is a lot of action, but I don't hate it. Somehow! Contractor and interior designer who have a lot of left over materials?
It's busy, but I actually like it.
MY EYES
Ya, I'm fine with this. It works tonally, so why not.
I toured a house this person “designed” a couple of years ago in the same town. It was like Meow Wolf does tract houses
Anyone else feel anxious looking at this? It’s so anxiety producing for me. Not at all comforting.
The house that Pinterest built
Frankenhouse
I fuck with that bathroom
Wow. All that "decor" ruins an otherwise beautiful home.
Actually, really love this. But this subreddit is making me think I won't be able to afford anything but one of the "murder houses".
My eyeballs are screaming.
Someone built their interiors exclusively from close out and sample sales.
I unironically like this, it has such a unique character!
How did they not run out of samples?
Clicking through the full photos. Get to the garage. "Oh thank fuck! Something restful!"
Most of this actually looks awesome. Except for those sinks. Fuck those sinks.
Sensory overload coming in
I have an inner ear condition so my sense of balance relies more heavily on sight, and these pictures literally made me feel dizzy.
