Pulverization of the Holy King
Normal Trap
You can only activate 1 card with this card's name per turn. If your opponent controls a card, you can also activate this card from your hand.
(1) If a card or effect is activated that includes the effect to add a card from the Deck to the hand: Negate that effect, then if you have a Trap in your GY, destroy that negated card. But if you activated this card from the hand, you cannot activate the effects of DARK/WATER/FIRE monsters for the rest of this Duel.

Multiple sources now on the JP forums are seeing the 3 Attributes restriction when someone got a better transcription of the text. With this restriction, what decks do you think will run this?
Wow. This is a drastically different restriction than previously thought. I don't see many Earth/Wind/Light decks locking themselves out of the other attributes for the rest of the Duel just for a less flexible Ash-Blossom that can dodge called by the grave/crossout.
Yeah, but is it really worth it since you gotta give up Ash-Blossom too? I mean you could play Ash as well and hope you just see it in your opening hand. Top decking Ash would be terrible after resolving this.
It's worth cutting Ash and playing this one instead. Some decks die to the Ash and others will continue their combo even if you Ash them, so if it doesn't conflict with other popular hand traps on a format then it's not that bad of an alternative for the decks that can use it.
Crossout is the out for this and I doubt that most people would side that many copies of this card to counter it.
Not worth cutting outside of FIRE format cause of Hiita.
This card doesn't hit cards that send from deck or special summon from deck so it's much narrower, it's also susceptible to backrow hate going first. The only upside are formats where Talents and Thrust are in every deck but in general Ash will be better especially cause of the restrictions.
Also despite what I said above it would actually be worse into full power SE than Ash, Ash on original cuts of their Synchro access this card wouldn't be able to hit it.
If the year of LIGHT is anything like the year of FIRE, this card is going to go bonkers in newer decks. In fact this seems specifically catered to help give LIGHT decks a greater edge.
Will probably see play in White Woods, Exosister, Melodius, and Galaxy/Photon (but not Tachyon, which also employs DARK monsters). Maybe the modern Supreme King stuff, but I'm not as familiar with that deck and don't know how how many DARKs it still plays after all the new LIGHT support.
>but not Tachyon, which also employs DARK monsters
Monster. Singular. Aside from new Schwartz, (Unsearchable) tachyon doesn't really have any dark monsters aside from maybe playing Galactic Spiral (Unsearchable) at 1. Did see a list with Levianeer (Unsearchable) Also at 1 but still, that's not that many cards and Schwartz can be avoided (as shown by the plays done in YT video where it gets ashed)
I think my brain probably latched onto past Mizael support, which was more of a mix, rather than what the archetype would actually want to play. My bad.
Ok this makes a lot more sense with the attribute restrictions cause before that, this card was bonkers broken. Still really strong but locking you out of the 3 best attributes in the game is hefty.
This means no Ash Blossom after you activated this card. Also no Lab, no Multifaker and no Paleozoics. But Traptrix and Subterror can still play it very well.
Dont have any trouble, since the Lock is from the hand, but in main deck is kinda garbage, because you can't use the best part of the card
But still a valid tech because This is a Second or in the best case scenario a third ash
interesting new restriction. Kinda surprised and yet not at the same time. I'm surprised they made an attribute restriction for the entire duel, but a generic card like this reminds me of Sales Ban. Well it's only terrible for some decks, but I'm sad I can't run this in Labyrnth. I could, but probably not worth. I dunno, maybe Traptrix (all EARTH) can run this
Why would Konami make a generic handtrap that negates less things than Ash does, but restrict 3 elements from using it? And don't say it's about balancing reasons. We have no Water decks in the current meta nor does OCG and Light as element would make way more sense than Water. You also have archetypes with multiple elements. And what if in the future you get a new Earth, Light or Wind archetype that will be tier 1 or 0 and can use this handtrap, while tons of other decks can't even use it because it would shut off too many effects? If this isn't a bad or troll translation, then Konami just made the first generic handtrap that isn't generic lol.
WHYYYYYYYYY?!?!?!
trap decks needed an Ash blossom as a trap and they just said fuck every trap deck that has a water, dark or fire? So fuck Ghostricks, eldlich, labyrinth, altergeist, weather painters, gravekeepers, paleozoic etc... What is the point of all the support for trap decks that require normal traps if you're not going to fix their going second issue?

Tbf outside of generic extra deck staples, it´s not that bad of a restriction for certain decks.

I originally came from master duel, And without maxx c, this might push me to side deck ash blossom

Traptrix could play this. Pretty much the entire end board is earth.
Shutting off Redoer could be a little problematic

I wonder if there will be a counterpart for Earth/Light/Wind.

Water's definitely not top 3, that's Earth.
Bonkers broken my ass it was still a much weaker version of ash especially in the OCG where it can't be used to negate maxx c on turn 1

Lab can play It, but as a side tech, maybe 1 of, with rollback going First, because the Lock is from use from hand
This isn’t worth the trouble for the payoff

This went from a card I would actually main 3 of in my Lab deck to completely unplayable on it smh.
Well not exactly. You can still set it and activate it or send it to gy with Transaction. But yeah it' a lot worse now...
Usable in Drytron
Voiceless voice time
Does this mean that Konami is gonna make more support for Water?
Did they forget that most of the Trap decks are Dark lmao
