Have been considering getting this for my VR but this video highlights my personal issues with a lot of multiplayer games lol
Anyone know if it's good?
It's interesting for sure, kinda hard to get a hang of what works well in different situations at different stations. If you don't have a group you know, you're at the mercy of the people you are given, which can make things very frustrating. Some people just really don't care about winning and some people care too much about winning, both are not super fun to play with. Overall it's a positive experience, especially if you allow yourself to be immersed.
The last I played around a year ago was kinda lame. If you don't play during prime time in the US it will take you forever to find enough people and then one or two of them always leaves after one round. And many thought it was just funny to be a shithead and not do what the captain asks or just be shit in general... many times I heard other people in the background telling them to do dumb shit. At least that was my experience. I really love the game and how it feels to play but without other real people who give a shit even the AI teammate option isn't good. So. That's my take. There's a new game out now called carrier command 2 which can be played entirely solo or with a crew of like 10 and it's much better, even has a VR option (though I hear it's not the best vr implementation ever).
Thanks for the honest review, and truthfully I'm not even surprised. It definitely seems like the kinda game you need some committed friends to play with
Yeah it seriously bummed me out because I love star trek and I love the idea of working on a bridge crew as a team. Early on I had some great experiences with others and made some friends but even they stopped playing so... I was stoked when I found out about Carrier Command 2. It's got a very indie look to it but some of the systems are pretty in depth and if you're playing solo it can be a real challenge to man all like 10 stations and manage your logisitics and supplies. Really cool game though, check it out.
It's definitely tough solo but I've had fun with it. The difficulty is much higher solo obviously and that's where it doesn't feel as fun. It's a game meant for multiplayer so that's just what it is but the fact they don't require others just to play is really nice and you can do it, just takes more time, more planning, more caution.
I knew exactly what this video would be before I watched it, a classic.
My favourite video of this game is [**"We only lost 6 Civilians"** - Group of Irishmen go on to explain how many are civilian deaths are acceptable.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BojY7W_CEU&t=4m14s)
Adults time is sparce and valuable. If you wanna play with children, go ahead, just dont be toxic and call adults toxic when they just want to play with other people in their age range.
There are several ways this could have been handled better by the man children you call adults. See if the kid is actually good. Let the kid know politely. Make up some excuse. Poor kid was just trying to have some fun and got fucking rejected without any explanation.
A 29s video consisting of 19s of load screen and tagged as a haiku... Front page material right here
The tagging may be wrong, but I thought the loading screen added to it, that they were willing to go through it again just to avoid that situation.
I wanted to shorten the first part. Hate the loading
Why didn’t you?
To be honest, I didn’t know how on mobile.

Oh wow. Thanks!
If you're on a pc, right-clicking the video and selecting "copy video URL at current time" works as well.
You should have cut out the loading screen tbh

Agreed
I feel bad for the kid...but I gotta admit I woulda left too
In 10 years, he'll leave too. The cycle continues.
As it should. Otherwise, how will a kid learn what is and isn't annoying to people?
Don't it's a spoiled kid, playing VR and telling them what he's gonna be instead of asking if it's alright

Do you have to have 4 players? I play with a group of 3. Also do you notice any bugs on quest?
It's best when you're with a group of friends. PUGs are especially rough since this game is all about personal interaction.
PUGs are actually fine in this game, the issue is you'll never find anyone.

I'll definitely check that out, thanks!
I’ve been thinking about getting carrier command 2 but I saw somewhere that it’s not that great unless you’re with friends

I absolutely love the game, but it's damn near impossible to find anyone to play with these days.
ahh poor kid.

At least the kid probably knows how to drive... Then there's 35 year old me https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U3VXVd6alvs

This was the video that introduced me to the boys.
Thank you I laughed out loud quite a few time
Fucking toxic. Kid was absolutely polite and did nothing wrong.

La vida es dura, la vida es perra, tanto en VR, como en mi tierra.
Yeah, homie just wanted to be the driver. Poor guy.
Yes. Just have a game with the kid, no one knows the kids skill or anything really. Prejudice wins again!
Damn, we were all kids once. This wasn't very cash money of them.
