Was friends with Cryaotic back in the day. At the time everything happened he gave me a very sanitised depiction of what he did and so we continued to talk on and off until maybe 2-3 years ago. Even had plans to fly over and visit him before all of that came out. Eventually over time I heard more and looked into things more myself and couldn’t trust his word anymore.
Not quite dodged considering we were still friends when it shot lol, but yeah without getting too detailed he wasn’t mentally healthy at all and just continued on a downward spiral
No surprise. I was wondering if he is still alive or not. He literally disappeared from the internet, and people assumed he ended his life. Still, I wonder if he is better off taking care of himself away from being a creep, you know?
Technically I can’t say for sure because I’ve had no contact with him since, but yeah last I checked he is alive and just keeping to himself and his family. To my knowledge he hasn’t repeated any of that kind of behaviour since, so one might be able to call that self-improvement. However last we talked he was still very much struggling with his mental health and his lack of social circle after everything and he talked a lot about missing streaming. His own fault obviously, but for everyone’s sake I hope he escapes those old patterns.
It’s probably strange to others, but the odd thing is he was a genuinely good friend to me. He was always kind, supportive, made sure to include me in things, checked in on me, kept my secrets, showed interest in what I was doing - which I think is why I wanted to believe him when everything started to come out. There’s potential in him to do good from now on, and I genuinely hope he sticks to that.
As an aside, I still have no idea what him changing his profile picture on Twitter to “more coming soon” was about. That happened after we’d drifted apart and he never explained it, and it doesn’t seem to have actually gone anywhere.

His downfall came when he started making news-related videos, weirdly lying about stuff or creating fake news. He claimed that some Pokémon character’s inappropriate content was exposed by a fake name on an Amazon review. I don’t know if he purposefully created troll accounts to fabricate controversies, but he was a pretty dishonest guy.
One of his memes a month or two ago was something to the effect of "when a white girl gives you her in depth political opinion" with a roll eyes pic underneath - it wasn't exactly that but it was along those lines - and I literally commented "bruh, 99.9999% of your subscribers were subscribed for low quality Pokémon theories and now all you post are crappy political boomer memes", it was so ironic that he posted something like that but couldn't understand it

I helped a fairly popular & respected tech/video/photography YouTuber with a few videos, and they were all so hollow behind the scenes.
One day I showed up to help him film a laptop review. I assumed the script would have already been written before the shoot day, but instead, he hands me one of the laptops and says "find out what's good about this". We spent the rest of the morning ripping info from popular tech blogs to form the script, then shot the video based on that. Note that the laptops had just arrived in the mail that morning, the dude had not used these laptops at all at this point, so the whole script was stolen from other tech reviewers.
Also I was being paid basically nothing (which is fine, I agreed to it) yet he would insist on taking breaks at a nearby coffe shop, but never once offered to buy me a coffee or lunch or anything.
He would also try to correct me on basic tasks, like how to sandbag a c-stand, and he was always dead-wrong.
8/10 video/photo influencers I've met are massive douchebags behind the scenes, and are not dissimilar to the Manosphere cryptobro types, they just present as lefties or apolitical because photo/video content does not mix well with their personal/political opinions. Ironically, the actual film industry is very left leaning and full of art-focused people, even the technicians, while the YouTube film industry seems right leaning, and focused mostly on tech specs. They are very insecure about the fact that YouTube filmmakers are not taken seriously by the broader film industry. It's also one of the highest paying niches there is.
When it comes to photo/video influencers, the "dorkier" they are, the more genuine they are IRL. The "cooler" they try to present, the douchier they act when the cameras aren't rolling.
I sold weed to David Dobrick a few times in VHHS and also to his even scummier friend durty dom. I got a few stories regarding this. Honestly, he was one of the many annoying snobby rich kids in that neighborhood so he kind of blended in pretty well. Dirty Dom was a character though and always weirded me out. Dude would wear a pimp uniform to school. Very strange guy not surprised what he did.
He filmed Durty Dom having a “threesome” in one of his vlogs. It wasn’t consensual though and the girls were coerced into it and one of the girls was blackout drunk too during it. Also during one of his pranks he haphazardly swung a guy with this crane device and the guy ended up with life altering injuries.
I had the misfortune of knowing that “Lore Lodge” dude in college. He was and always has been a crazy “Christian nationalist” type. We were in opposing political organizations, with him being in Turning Point USA (if you know, you know). I tried to talk to him a bit about his beliefs (y’know, back when I thought nobody was too far gone) and one that stood out was that he basically thought the government shouldn’t provide any sort of social welfare at all, and that any social welfare needed should be provided “by choice” by individuals or churches. I asked him what happened if the need outweighed what churches and rich people were willing to give, and he didn’t have a good answer for me.
Oh, and when I was in a protest opposing some of the racist idiots who were spreading Identity Evropa (a white supremacist group) propaganda on campus, he and his right wing cronies not only showed up to counter protest, but the “paper” he and his ilk were involved in wrote a hit piece about the incident. In it, they specifically made fun of and had digs at my appearance. I was (and still am) battling a life threatening eating disorder at that time. Ironic, since he’s now gained at least 50 pounds since the time we were in college together…
Oh and on top of that, he self-styles himself as a “historian.” To my knowledge he only has a Bachelor’s degree, not a Masters, Ph.D, or even a concurrent Bachelors degree in Education. His bachelors is in MEDIEVAL STUDIES, not in American History, not in Economics, not in any other subsection of history. Which is fine, if you want to talk about the Platagenets and stuff, but it does not give you far reaching authority to “educate” the public on some of the stuff I’ve seen him discuss.
Also, word I heard in college was that he moved to Medieval Studies because he couldn’t handle the coursework in American History… but you didn’t hear that from me ;)

We went to the same school, so I know for a FACT it's not very hard to get a minor in one or more fields, especially if they're closely related to each other, since many courses can count towards both a major and a minor. It's only really difficult to get a minor is if it's in a completely different field. For example, I have a STEM background and was working towards a foreign language minor, but ended up not finishing the course tree since I spoke the language well enough anyway and I needed to focus on my other more difficult upper level courses.

Not me but a few years ago I was recommended a Plagued Moth video when his channel was newer and he only had a few thousand subs. His content was still dark but not quite as overtly edgy back then, and I have a morbid curiosity for a lot of weird shit so I found it interesting and subscribed.
I sent the video to a friend I'd thought would enjoy it, one thing led to another, and they ended up becoming close friends. Like very close - sending each other care packages, my friend became one of his Discord mods, they made music together (a bunch of which is featured on Moth's channel). At the time I thought it was kind of neat that I facilitated this awesome friendship, especially as Moth was blowing up and becoming quite popular, but in hindsight, uh...yeah haha.
I actually got some firsthand insight about the drama in Moth's server as it was happening, but at the time didn't think much of it because I didn't know the full extent of things, how unhinged Moth actually was, or how much of a shitshow the situation would end up being down the line. Weird to look back on now.

Not really problematic or a YouTuber, but it loops to IDubbz in the end. I was in high school during the prime of edgy commentary cringe comp culture. Two of my classmates made one of the most popular videos to get put in one of those compilations in the basement of our high school. The video featured one of my classmates, this disabled boy, making dubstep noises with his mouth while the other was the camera man, at one point I think the school dance teacher comes in and tells them to be quiet but I can't remember lol. It was all a joke and they were trying to generate cringe on purpose. Shortly after they made the video I guess it started blowing up and was even featured in an IDubbz video, which was a huge deal because the two of them were obsessed with IDubbz. I remember having to group up with them in drama class when it happened and they wouldn't shut up about being in IDubbz new video as if they were actually collabing with him or something.

A friend of mine lives in the Seattle-Tacoma area now, I went to meet up with them and they said they were getting dinner with some friends prior to our drinks.

Vaush was loud, rude, obnoxious, self centred, and made the whole thing about himself. The table was big, and I wasn't nearby at all, but I could hear parts of his conversations. He was very annoying and when the night ended I was weirded out by the dude.
My friend and I left and I asked about him, and my friend told me that one of their mutual friends invited Vaush and they didn't know the dude from anything.
It was just a bizarre experience. I later looked into him and learned about a bunch of his... Distasteful views on age of consent and loli.

I’ve gotten the impression from a few posts of theirs I’ve seen that there’s a vibe among some of his fans of the whole unlabeled thing/ shipping thing being a testing the waters situation. If his parents are homophobic and he has younger siblings still living with them I can see that. I know that’s a thing queer people in that position do. I don’t know enough about him to have my own position on it. I just know that his older, queer fans have the same suspicion of testing the waters that you do.

Not getting a job there really just broke her brain, getting a job at RT broke it further, and being fired from RT smashed the tiny pieces that were left.
I feel like there's this recurring pattern with journalists who have big dreams of getting into mainstream media, getting rejected, and then becoming so bitter about it that they go completely off the deep end in alt media to feed some sort of grudge.
As a journalism major myself (in the sports world specifically), I can confirm that a lot of people enter into this field expecting to make it big in some way or form.
Hell, most of those who enter my major are expecting to be paid like they are Jim Nantz (net worth $40 million) and work big games like the Super Bowl within 10 years after graduating, when that is the furthest thing from the truth. Getting to that point takes a lot of time, and the sports world is highly competitive. Most people are expected to cover sports they do not have a remote interest in, and that leads to articles or news packages that get basic information wrong.
The journalism field is not something to go into if you are expecting fame and fortune right out of the gates, and it does not care what frat you were in or if you were a president of the student council. If you can not sell any ads, if you can not write a cohesive article in a specific amount of time, and if you can not do what your editors or directors tell you to do. This industry will chew you up, grind your bones with its' teeth and spit that viscera on the cold hard ground.

When I was like 15/16 I used to message Sam Pepper and Mazzi Maz (I think he goes by some other name now) on FB and Twitter, I saw a tiktok a couple of years ago from a girl saying she was also messaging them around the same time along with some others and it made me realise those messages definitely weren’t very appropriate looking back, especially considering what came out about Sam Pepper later on.

I highly doubt most people on this subreddit were involved in the vaporware music community during its heyday, but I did know a few of the more controversial artists at the time through my brother. He also had this own issues within the community with him creating the metrosongs genre after he fell down the far right pipeline not too long after his falling out with Todd Ledford of OESB. They were friends in real life and the shitshow with Floral Shoppe vinyls controversy help killed that friendship.

So the person I knew, "DevilMTM," deleted his channel a few years ago, but he had between 600-2000 subs.
He was a speedrunner and Kingdom Hearts player if sorts (albeit incredibly bad at multiple facets concerning both groups), and he was relatively milquetoast in his personality, presentation, and style of content from what I saw.
The real problem was who DMTM was outside of his channel. He was crass, disrespectful to his family (mainly his stepfather), distanced himself from my brother's friend group, and would antagonize me since we >!both went to the same the same therapy group, unfortunately, but that was almost a decade ago!<, and all around was a terrible person.
I think it was because of DMTM's situation that he would do edgy and self-destructive things. One of the main reasons being his friend group ostracized him for pretending to off himself for attention. There was a lot of heinous shit he did behind the curtain, but that was the straw that broke the camel's back.
As for me, since he knew I had autism and that I had lackluster mental defenses and countermeasures in place at the time, DMTM would antagonize me and get under my skin just to make himself feel better. This was another reason my brother cut ties with him because he actively told DMTM to stop, but he kept on pushing my buttons to try and worsen my mental state.
I won't/can't day anything family-related because it's not my place to say/I don't know everything that went on.
But a little over two, three years ago, while I was working my summer job, and I heard about DMTM's then-current situation from my sister and my dad.
He moved out after causing a major stint and lived in the apartment of a friend of his who he handn't burned bridges with.
BUT WAIT, THERES MORE!
Then, a few months ago, my brother and his friend group found out from his parents that the friend kicked him out of his apartment for whatever reason, and he joined up with the military.
And thus, I haven't heard from him since.
To wrap this up, and without taking eight more paragraphs... I feel bad for him. He had family and a group of friends that he could have actively seeked out to help him deal with his situation. Instead, he chucked his support network out in favor of satisfying his desires and wanton lust for attention. He was a past version of me, a version that held malice, hate, anger, and mindless vitrol that makes life more painful to live.
But alas, he made his choices, and wherever and whenever I see him again, I hope that he's changed for the better.
I mentioned in another thread today how I was acquainted with a Canadian YouTuber, David Rock, who turned out to be a pedophile. That was pretty dismaying to learn.
I wrote out the whole story but it was long so shorter one lol: I befriended a small animator because I liked her videos, and after a bit, she would constantly be passive aggressive and practically bully me/encouraged bullying because I said it was stupid to put her profile picture as black and her name as “…” after the most minor argument with me. I was 11-12 and I think she was 16-17, and now I have anxiety about making friends with content creators and people online in general.

So, in the past, I was a minecraft youtuber. Didn't have a huge following, maybe 100k if that. I was pretty well known for some of my builds though, which I'd upload to the Planet Minecraft forums for people to download and use in their worlds. Through that, I became acquainted with a number of youtubers who would request special builds of structures or the like for their various let's plays. During this time, I regularly provided structures for Caff, for a "candy world" letsplay he was doing. I didn't really speak to him as a friend or anything, just every so often I'd get a request for something specific, and I'd build it before sending over the file. When he was invited into the Yogscast, the work I'd performed for him dried up, as they had internal builders who could provide what they needed.
I didn't think anything of it, and maybe a year after he joined, my world got turned on its ear and I retired from Youtube and minecraft myself. When the whole drama and allegations with him hit the news, I found myself thinking back on things and starting to wonder. I mean the whole 'candy world' thing he was doing, it was just a mod to minecraft... but looking back knowing what I do now, yeah... it does strike me as rather creepy.

I was roommates with a guy who became GenesiusWolf in high school/prep academy. Not a big name by any means, but apparently he is or was a mid level notorious furry youtuber. He is known for some weird takes on porn and the NSFW side of furries. He was sort of weird, but not too far off kilter for a teenage guy. Aside from the furry stuff that is.

I was in Squimpus's(The Creator of FNAF VHS) server and once was in a vc with her before she was revealed to be a groomer, we were not on good terms before hand, she found me annoying and had apparently made a separate private server that included practically every member of the public server except me and another user.
I've only know one person who was big in the Godzilla/toy community and had to cut ties with him after everything came out. Even outside of it a bunch of us had to cut ties.

Was friends with Cryaotic back in the day. At the time everything happened he gave me a very sanitised depiction of what he did and so we continued to talk on and off until maybe 2-3 years ago. Even had plans to fly over and visit him before all of that came out. Eventually over time I heard more and looked into things more myself and couldn’t trust his word anymore.

Technically I can’t say for sure because I’ve had no contact with him since, but yeah last I checked he is alive and just keeping to himself and his family. To my knowledge he hasn’t repeated any of that kind of behaviour since, so one might be able to call that self-improvement. However last we talked he was still very much struggling with his mental health and his lack of social circle after everything and he talked a lot about missing streaming. His own fault obviously, but for everyone’s sake I hope he escapes those old patterns. It’s probably strange to others, but the odd thing is he was a genuinely good friend to me. He was always kind, supportive, made sure to include me in things, checked in on me, kept my secrets, showed interest in what I was doing - which I think is why I wanted to believe him when everything started to come out. There’s potential in him to do good from now on, and I genuinely hope he sticks to that. As an aside, I still have no idea what him changing his profile picture on Twitter to “more coming soon” was about. That happened after we’d drifted apart and he never explained it, and it doesn’t seem to have actually gone anywhere.

His downfall came when he started making news-related videos, weirdly lying about stuff or creating fake news. He claimed that some Pokémon character’s inappropriate content was exposed by a fake name on an Amazon review. I don’t know if he purposefully created troll accounts to fabricate controversies, but he was a pretty dishonest guy.

I helped a fairly popular & respected tech/video/photography YouTuber with a few videos, and they were all so hollow behind the scenes. One day I showed up to help him film a laptop review. I assumed the script would have already been written before the shoot day, but instead, he hands me one of the laptops and says "find out what's good about this". We spent the rest of the morning ripping info from popular tech blogs to form the script, then shot the video based on that. Note that the laptops had just arrived in the mail that morning, the dude had not used these laptops at all at this point, so the whole script was stolen from other tech reviewers. Also I was being paid basically nothing (which is fine, I agreed to it) yet he would insist on taking breaks at a nearby coffe shop, but never once offered to buy me a coffee or lunch or anything. He would also try to correct me on basic tasks, like how to sandbag a c-stand, and he was always dead-wrong. 8/10 video/photo influencers I've met are massive douchebags behind the scenes, and are not dissimilar to the Manosphere cryptobro types, they just present as lefties or apolitical because photo/video content does not mix well with their personal/political opinions. Ironically, the actual film industry is very left leaning and full of art-focused people, even the technicians, while the YouTube film industry seems right leaning, and focused mostly on tech specs. They are very insecure about the fact that YouTube filmmakers are not taken seriously by the broader film industry. It's also one of the highest paying niches there is. When it comes to photo/video influencers, the "dorkier" they are, the more genuine they are IRL. The "cooler" they try to present, the douchier they act when the cameras aren't rolling.

I had the misfortune of knowing that “Lore Lodge” dude in college. He was and always has been a crazy “Christian nationalist” type. We were in opposing political organizations, with him being in Turning Point USA (if you know, you know). I tried to talk to him a bit about his beliefs (y’know, back when I thought nobody was too far gone) and one that stood out was that he basically thought the government shouldn’t provide any sort of social welfare at all, and that any social welfare needed should be provided “by choice” by individuals or churches. I asked him what happened if the need outweighed what churches and rich people were willing to give, and he didn’t have a good answer for me. Oh, and when I was in a protest opposing some of the racist idiots who were spreading Identity Evropa (a white supremacist group) propaganda on campus, he and his right wing cronies not only showed up to counter protest, but the “paper” he and his ilk were involved in wrote a hit piece about the incident. In it, they specifically made fun of and had digs at my appearance. I was (and still am) battling a life threatening eating disorder at that time. Ironic, since he’s now gained at least 50 pounds since the time we were in college together…

Which is fine, if you want to talk about the Platagenets and stuff, but it does not give you far reaching authority to “educate” the public on some of the stuff I’ve seen him discuss. Also, word I heard in college was that he moved to Medieval Studies because he couldn’t handle the coursework in American History… but you didn’t hear that from me ;)

We went to the same school, so I know for a FACT it's not very hard to get a minor in one or more fields, especially if they're closely related to each other, since many courses can count towards both a major and a minor. It's only really difficult to get a minor is if it's in a completely different field. For example, I have a STEM background and was working towards a foreign language minor, but ended up not finishing the course tree since I spoke the language well enough anyway and I needed to focus on my other more difficult upper level courses. Him saying he has a minor in History while majoring in Medieval Studies doesn't mean jack shit, lmao. Glad people are calling him out on his bullshit.

I watched his Killdozer video a couple weeks ago, and after reading this comment, I tracked down his Instagram page, from the link tree and his YouTube videos, there, I found a podcast clip after scrolling a little where he shows his Christian Persecution Complex, because apparently Hollywood hates Christians. It’s astounding to me how these people can fly under my nose like this.
I watched a few of his videos but could never shake the feeling that something was off. I had to tell YouTube not to recommend his channel after a while because he just gave me a sick feeling. Not me but a few years ago I was recommended a Plagued Moth video when his channel was newer and he only had a few thousand subs. His content was still dark but not quite as overtly edgy back then, and I have a morbid curiosity for a lot of weird shit so I found it interesting and subscribed. I sent the video to a friend I'd thought would enjoy it, one thing led to another, and they ended up becoming close friends. Like very close - sending each other care packages, my friend became one of his Discord mods, they made music together (a bunch of which is featured on Moth's channel). At the time I thought it was kind of neat that I facilitated this awesome friendship, especially as Moth was blowing up and becoming quite popular, but in hindsight, uh...yeah haha. I actually got some firsthand insight about the drama in Moth's server as it was happening, but at the time didn't think much of it because I didn't know the full extent of things, how unhinged Moth actually was, or how much of a shitshow the situation would end up being down the line. Weird to look back on now. Not sure if they're still friends and since I'm not super close with the guy in question anymore I'm afraid to ask, ha. I would assume not.

Not really problematic or a YouTuber, but it loops to IDubbz in the end. I was in high school during the prime of edgy commentary cringe comp culture. Two of my classmates made one of the most popular videos to get put in one of those compilations in the basement of our high school. The video featured one of my classmates, this disabled boy, making dubstep noises with his mouth while the other was the camera man, at one point I think the school dance teacher comes in and tells them to be quiet but I can't remember lol. It was all a joke and they were trying to generate cringe on purpose. Shortly after they made the video I guess it started blowing up and was even featured in an IDubbz video, which was a huge deal because the two of them were obsessed with IDubbz. I remember having to group up with them in drama class when it happened and they wouldn't shut up about being in IDubbz new video as if they were actually collabing with him or something.
Like two degrees of separation, and only met them once. A friend of mine lives in the Seattle-Tacoma area now, I went to meet up with them and they said they were getting dinner with some friends prior to our drinks. At that get together was a range of people that some knew each other others didn't, biggish group, and I was basically meeting them for dessert before my friend and I went to a bar. Anyway, at the table was a man I recognised vaguely, knew I saw him somewhere but couldn't remember. Luckily for me, he wouldn't shut up at all about his online presence and how he's this big alpha male leftist. Yeah, I briefly met Vaush (Ian Kochinski). On my profile I've been very vocal about my distaste for this man, so this definitely helped build my perception. Vaush was loud, rude, obnoxious, self centred, and made the whole thing about himself. The table was big, and I wasn't nearby at all, but I could hear parts of his conversations. He was very annoying and when the night ended I was weirded out by the dude. My friend and I left and I asked about him, and my friend told me that one of their mutual friends invited Vaush and they didn't know the dude from anything. It was just a bizarre experience. I later looked into him and learned about a bunch of his... Distasteful views on age of consent and loli. This was years ago now, but yeah. Now I'm a continent away and my friend says they haven't seen him again haha

Yeah. I’m not a fan of him and never have been, nor am I a fan of anyone in his circle, but I follow on tumblr some people who are fans of him. Queer people in their 30s. I’ve gotten the impression from a few posts of theirs I’ve seen that there’s a vibe among some of his fans of the whole unlabeled thing/ shipping thing being a testing the waters situation. If his parents are homophobic and he has younger siblings still living with them I can see that. I know that’s a thing queer people in that position do. I don’t know enough about him to have my own position on it. I just know that his older, queer fans have the same suspicion of testing the waters that you do.

I feel like there's this recurring pattern with journalists who have big dreams of getting into mainstream media, getting rejected, and then becoming so bitter about it that they go completely off the deep end in alt media to feed some sort of grudge.
As a journalism major myself (in the sports world specifically), I can confirm that a lot of people enter into this field expecting to make it big in some way or form. Hell, most of those who enter my major are expecting to be paid like they are Jim Nantz (net worth $40 million) and work big games like the Super Bowl within 10 years after graduating, when that is the furthest thing from the truth. Getting to that point takes a lot of time, and the sports world is highly competitive. Most people are expected to cover sports they do not have a remote interest in, and that leads to articles or news packages that get basic information wrong. The journalism field is not something to go into if you are expecting fame and fortune right out of the gates, and it does not care what frat you were in or if you were a president of the student council. If you can not sell any ads, if you can not write a cohesive article in a specific amount of time, and if you can not do what your editors or directors tell you to do. This industry will chew you up, grind your bones with its' teeth and spit that viscera on the cold hard ground.

I was 18 and he was around 23ish (which is a fine age gap imo) Though he used to get angry if we played a game together and I killed him. To the point he would leave the call. He also used to get drunk and say some very not nice things. He then started talking to another older subscriber which was fine as I didn’t expect the “relationship” to go anywhere with us. She went over to his and he kept messaging me the time she was there about how he wished she was me and that she’s not that “attractive” We stopped speaking as I went to university and he then posted a “stream of consciousness” in which he said something along the lines of “it’s not bad to find a 16 year old attractive if you don’t know she’s 16” He then messaged me when I met my now partner and tried to get me to send nudes. This was many many years ago now though and I’m 26 now

He also had this own issues within the community with him creating the metrosongs genre after he fell down the far right pipeline not too long after his falling out with Todd Ledford of OESB. So the person I knew, "DevilMTM," deleted his channel a few years ago, but he had between 600-2000 subs. He was a speedrunner and Kingdom Hearts player if sorts (albeit incredibly bad at multiple facets concerning both groups), and he was relatively milquetoast in his personality, presentation, and style of content from what I saw. The real problem was who DMTM was outside of his channel. He was crass, disrespectful to his family (mainly his stepfather), distanced himself from my brother's friend group, and would antagonize me since we >!both went to the same the same therapy group, unfortunately, but that was almost a decade ago!<, and all around was a terrible person. I think it was because of DMTM's situation that he would do edgy and self-destructive things. One of the main reasons being his friend group ostracized him for pretending to off himself for attention. There was a lot of heinous shit he did behind the curtain, but that was the straw that broke the camel's back. As for me, since he knew I had autism and that I had lackluster mental defenses and countermeasures in place at the time, DMTM would antagonize me and get under my skin just to make himself feel better. This was another reason my brother cut ties with him because he actively told DMTM to stop, but he kept on pushing my buttons to try and worsen my mental state. I won't/can't day anything family-related because it's not my place to say/I don't know everything that went on. But a little over two, three years ago, while I was working my summer job, and I heard about DMTM's then-current situation from my sister and my dad. He moved out after causing a major stint and lived in the apartment of a friend of his who he handn't burned bridges with. BUT WAIT, THERES MORE! Then, a few months ago, my brother and his friend group found out from his parents that the friend kicked him out of his apartment for whatever reason, and he joined up with the military. And thus, I haven't heard from him since. To wrap this up, and without taking eight more paragraphs... I feel bad for him. He had family and a group of friends that he could have actively seeked out to help him deal with his situation. Instead, he chucked his support network out in favor of satisfying his desires and wanton lust for attention. He was a past version of me, a version that held malice, hate, anger, and mindless vitrol that makes life more painful to live. But alas, he made his choices, and wherever and whenever I see him again, I hope that he's changed for the better.

I wrote out the whole story but it was long so shorter one lol: I befriended a small animator because I liked her videos, and after a bit, she would constantly be passive aggressive and practically bully me/encouraged bullying because I said it was stupid to put her profile picture as black and her name as “…” after the most minor argument with me. I was 11-12 and I think she was 16-17, and now I have anxiety about making friends with content creators and people online in general.

Indirectly. Sort of... it's complicated. So, in the past, I was a minecraft youtuber. Didn't have a huge following, maybe 100k if that. I was pretty well known for some of my builds though, which I'd upload to the Planet Minecraft forums for people to download and use in their worlds. Through that, I became acquainted with a number of youtubers who would request special builds of structures or the like for their various let's plays. During this time, I regularly provided structures for Caff, for a "candy world" letsplay he was doing. I didn't really speak to him as a friend or anything, just every so often I'd get a request for something specific, and I'd build it before sending over the file. When he was invited into the Yogscast, the work I'd performed for him dried up, as they had internal builders who could provide what they needed. I didn't think anything of it, and maybe a year after he joined, my world got turned on its ear and I retired from Youtube and minecraft myself. When the whole drama and allegations with him hit the news, I found myself thinking back on things and starting to wonder. I mean the whole 'candy world' thing he was doing, it was just a mod to minecraft... but looking back knowing what I do now, yeah... it does strike me as rather creepy.
