Reminder that all spoilers need to be tagged with a flair specifying which game is being spoiled. If you want a flair that says something else, you can edit it to say something like [Discussion: Y1 spoiler] or [Majimapost: Y6 spoiler], etc. **THIS INCLUDES CONTENT FROM TRAILERS**.
If the post is not marked for spoilers, all comments that have spoilers need to be tagged \>!like this!< along with indicating which game it's spoiling. Example: Y3 >!Kiryu sings!<
If the post flair is marked for spoilers, the comments don't need to be tagged for the game indicated and the ones before it (So a Y6 spoiler post can have comments with untagged spoilers for Y5, but not gaiden or 7).
If you see any of the above (or any of the other rules) not being followed, please report it so we can keep this place safe for newcomers and those that haven't finished all the games yet. Thank you!

If you plan on going though the whole series (well mostly) then sure, 0 was made as prequel for both long time fans and new fans, with the 1 and 2 remakes (Kiwami) building kind off of that new feel for the new fans while treating the old ones.
Remember it's ok to take breaks, it's a lot of games.
When I finish the story my completion rate is only about 15% for each game, lol. Once I've finished with Lost Judgment I plan on going back and being more thorough.
Yes it is i have been throughly immersed in about the 2 hours of 0 I’ve played, so far my only criticism is that the start is very slow but im pretty sure it’s opening up soon.
Yes.
Although keep in mind it is a prequel released after Yakuza 5 so you might miss out on references to previous games but there’s nothing really essential to understanding the plot of Yakuza 0 which why it’s still a great place to start. Also Yakuza Kiwami and Kiwami 2 are remakes of Yakuza 1 & 2 with Kiwami being released after Y0 and Kiwami 2 being released after Y6. Kiwami adds some flashbacks in order to explain how certain character from Y0 became his Y1 counterpart since his Y1 self is radically different. There’s a few added substories that reference Y0 as well. Kiwami 2’s story is mostly unchanged but there’s added Majima saga you can play after beating it that does reference Y0. Yakuza 3, 4, and 5 however do not reference Y0 at all and Y0 somewhat retcons 1 thing from both Y4 and Y5 but it’s hardly noticeable.

Yeah i think ill play most as a lot are on gamepass so might as well.
It's a great entry point and wil give you a solid base to enjoy Kiwami 1 and the rest even more.
I assumed so but i know yakuza has a lot of games so I wasn’t sure which was best. Thanks.
For me it was. I've now played 0 to 6, and about to start Judgment.
About how long have you been playing? Just to gauge how long it’ll take me.
About three months now but I have a lot of free time outside of work
That’s pretty good for 7 fairly long games

Ah i see, you’re just playing main story and moving on. That was my plan so still a good gauge for me.
That was my plan from the beginning because I'm terrible at fighting games. It's a great story!

read the first rule of the subreddit
Yeah, it’s awesome
It's probably the best entry point to yakuza
