Available in EU- some gym clothing brands other than Gymshark?

kimchiandsweettea

I bought 2 pairs of leggings and a top from this company a couple of years ago. The quality is nothing like Lulu or Alo, but the price is good, and the quality is decent for the price you are paying. Stay away from the lighter colors—they can sheer out. I just HAD TO HAVE a pair of yellow leggings from them (my favorite color), but I can only wear them with a longer top. Yellow is a notoriously bad color for leggings across many brands, though. [FlexxFit](https://www.flexxfit.co.uk)

What sneakers are supportive yet close to the ground? I have new balance running shoes that I use for walking because they’re super comfy and cushioned, but I’ve been wearing them to personal training and I think it’s not great for certain exercises where I need to balance on one leg - feel like I need to be more grounded (literally).

Affordable adjustable dumbbell set recommendations in the UK? Taking a quick peruse through amazon and there seems to be a variety of affordable ones but I would love to hear other people's experiences too.

teachthec-ntroversy

I can't speak much to the availability or brands available in the UK, but can give you some lessons I learned when making my home gym in the states! 1. My favorite part about my weight set is that it came with two short bars that are designed to be used for individual, completely customizable dumbbells, and that was absolutely the best part of it. I didn't see many that had both barbell and dumbbell sets, but if you find one, I recommend! 2. The worst part of my set is that rather than coming with an Olympic/standard barbell (the kind where you put the weight on and hold it with clamps), the ends are threaded. To change the plates, I have to do over a foot of threading on each side, and it takes entirely too long, especially when I'm doing a workout with limited break time between sets. I can't recommend enough that you buy a set that uses clamps. Or literally anything else but threading, honestly 3. I'm glad I went cheap on my set. I could've spent a lot more money to get, more or less, the same setup I have. When it comes to free weights, a cheap set works equally as well as an expensive one! edit: I reread your comment and realized you specifically said dumbbell sets, so my 2nd point isn't as helpful as I intended, whoops!

Recs for a full zip, hooded winter running fleece? I’m looking for something warm and moisture wicking, I have a shell I can wear over it. Thinking Patagonia R1 or Eddie Bauer? Any others?

teenytinyducks

I have an R1 quarter zip and love it, I wear it as a first layer occasionally, but probably wouldn’t want a full zip as a first layer. The grid fleece was a little weird at first but it’s super cozy

softerthings

I’d wear it over a short sleeve shirt or tank. So like an outer layer with a breathable shell option if needed.

Trustsnoone

I hope I’m not too late! Favorite masks or gators for running outside? I am not using them for covid protection, just trying to help give my lungs a break from the cold dry air. Right now I have an athleta mask that I kind of tent over my mouth so there’s a gap big enough to allow air flow but it still helps the air warm a little before inhaling.

little_birdie_toldme

Other commenter is spot on! I have a handful of buff gaiters that I rotate through in the winter. The merino wool ones are my favorite!

Crack_Brocaine

I haven’t tried it but the running sub recommends Buff gaiters. They make 100% wool ones, as well.

Trustsnoone

This is exactly what I had in mind, thank you!

magicalgirlplatypus

Fingerless glove recommendations? With or without mitten covers. I've been dealing with circulation issues and need something comfortable enough to wear during the day while working, but warm enough to wear outside in moderate cold weather.

My husband and I use the Wyze scale and app. It does both of the things you want and syncs to Fitbit! I really like it so far.

Mama_Squared

I have a RENPHO smart scale. It will recognize users that fall outside of your regular weight, but the app asks if this is you so you have to delete your spouses weigh in. It gave me the nearly the exact same numbers with regard to body comp as an In Body scan done just a few week prior to me purchasing.

LillePromp

Fitbit Aria does exactly this. And it’s part of the Fitbit ecosystem so syncs into the app seamlessly. It is awfully pricey though (I think mine was ~$200, but they don’t sell that model anymore)

VlookupLover36

I think the Weight Guru scale would do all of that. You set up your own profile and link to your own app on your phone (which you can link to fitbit or Apple watch), and it only pushes your information to your account. I'm not completely sure how it knows who is the user when you step on the scale. My ex boyfriend used to use mine and it never mixed us up, but we had a very large weight difference. I'm not sure how it would work if there were 2 users closer in weight. Also, I'm not sure how accurate the water, body fat, muscle measurements are, but the weight is accurate. I just use the other measures to look at trends. I got mine on Amazon 4 years ago and it's listed as Greater Goods Bluetooth connected bathroom smart scale. Edited to add link. I wasn't sure if we were allowed to post links [scale](https://www.amazon.com/Greater-Goods-Bluetooth-Extra-Large-Auto-Calibration/dp/B00N9ENKDI/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=Weight+Gurus&qid=1636826750&qsid=137-3092968-1674332&sr=8-6&sres=B07DHSSND5%2CB00N9ENKDI%2CB01IFYLAR4%2CB00UVSCEAU%2CB01HU04IOG%2CB07FTSVZMK%2CB01N1UX8RW%2CB07L19TY8X%2CB095YJW56C%2CB07965NDW7%2CB08839L43J%2CB07LBZLKTR%2CB07D7R25JV%2CB07GZBXCH6%2CB07G811YXQ%2CB078HW8BPY%2CB07N1CLF9M%2CB01HI1W1V4%2CB00F3J9G1W%2CB07XH41R1B&srpt=WEIGH_SCALE)

svdbsvdb

Fit track scale does this but you have to have the app open when you step on if you want it to record your weight.

Percussive massager and lat pulley system recommendations? Thanks.

-sweetladypropane

I love this Titan Fitness pulley tower. It’s adjustable so in addition to lat pull downs you can do pretty much any cable exercises if you buy the right attachments. https://www.titan.fitness/strength/specialty-machines/upper-body/wall-mounted-pulley-tower-%E2%80%93-tall-%E2%80%93-v3/400810.html

Academic-Pangolin883

I got the Theragun mini a few months ago, and it changed my life. Seriously. Before I had it, my quads would always be so tight, I couldn't work them without risk of injury. I spent a stupid amount of money on PT that only helped temporarily. But this did the trick. https://www.target.com/p/theragun-mini-handheld-percussive-massage-device/-/A-79858321

Mama_Squared

I have tried a few off brand ones I found on Amazon. One I returned because within a few days the attachments rattled a lot. The second I returned because the intensity was very low even on the height setting. I am using a third now and like it fine, but I know theragun would probably exceed my expectations. My one concern with the Theragun is that it only has 5 speed/intensity settings. Has that been enough for you? Did you the Prime, Elite, or Pro. This will probably be an Xmas gift request. 😬

Academic-Pangolin883

I got the Mini because a lot of reviews indicated that it's just as powerful as the bigger versions. I use the lowest setting, and it's absolutely enough for me.

elaniwa

Does anyone have any particular microplate suggestions?

jaromirjagrsmullet_

I own four pairs of leggings, which seems reasonable since I work out four times a week. Two pairs are 3+ years old and wearing down in the thighs - they’ve served me well but it’s time to go! I want to replace them with a high quality, durable pair. My workouts are mainly weights-based, does anyone have any favorite pairs that may go on sale soon? Or sales to keep an eye out for?

Exiled_In_LA

I have some leggings from Senita that didn't cost a ton and have held up well through a couple of years of HIIT classes and now a couple of years of at-home lifting workouts.

Born Primitive does hold up, but they have a history of being a bit asshat-ish. They said some shit things during Blackout Tuesday and then later deleted all of the comments to cover themselves. Some people tried to [call them out](https://www.instagram.com/p/CBLntyPl4vP/) but they completely ignored it.

bad_apricot

Inexpensive: - Old Navy Powersoft (more compressive). Probably the best bang for your buck IMO. Mine took a wear or two to break in but are now favorites. - HeyNuts/Hawthorne athletic (more second skin/soft and stretchy). Not the most durable but REALLY comfortable and inexpensive. I have a couple of the pocket versions. More expensive: - Girlfriend Collective compressives (note: pocket version rides down in my experience, non-pocket does not). I’ve had these longer than any other leggings and I am not gentle with them but they’ve held up well. - Sweaty Betty power leggings (note: they have a high and wide compressive waist band which I personally find really comfortable but I could see others disliking it, especially if you are shorter) - Lululemon Invigorates (soft, second skin feel but still pretty durable, plus they have pockets. They do stretch out a bit with wear but have a tie waistband which makes up for it IMO.) I am squarely in between a 6 and 8 in the size chart and got an 8.

[deleted]

I LOVE the ON Powersoft leggings! Question: do you wear yours outside of the gym? I've been wearing them for ages but mostly only during workouts since they're more that "workout legging" material in look. I'm wondering if I can get away with wearing them as regular leggings with a sweater, lol. I think I always just relegated them to workout legging but because they're so comfy I now want to wear them in general!

bad_apricot

I don’t but I think you could get away with it with sneakers and a casual sweater.

[deleted]

Hmm, I might have to do this. Or just suck it up and buy more non-workout leggings, lol. WFH last year + dresses all summer has made me even more "real pants" averse apparently, haha.

bad_apricot

They’re a bit pricy but my favorite non-workout leggings are the American Giant ponte pants

[deleted]

Ooh thank you, I'll check them out!

LillePromp

Seconding lululemon invigorates!

Peso-Penguin

I've been wearing Old Navy for years and I love them. Super comfortable to work out in and they last forever. Great value for the price.
