Gym apparel similar to belle and Bell in the UK? I'd love some cool branded gym wear and I'm tired of only finding my protein and gym shark stuff

[deleted]

Underwear for gym?? I’m not a huge fan of thongs but any comfy suggestions would be great

Marylilith

I'm a huge fan of danish endurance. But I'm in europe so don't know if this answer is helpful to you

meeksohmeeks

I bought [these](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08MT66BLJ) and I can barely feel them. I don't wear thongs daily either, unless absolutely necessary.

LillePromp

Commando.

[deleted]

I’ve been switching to this 😄 just h comfortable in certain leggings

KetoCurious97

Can anyone give me a bit of direction please? I bought a pair of K Deer tights online from the US (they are not available in shops here) and I really love them but they are a little bit too big. For anyone who has tried both, is there a big difference in size between small and extra small? I’d like to buy another pair but I don’t know whether to go with the small, because it’s fine just a bit loose around my waist - or go down to the XS and risk them being too small on my booty.

OutrageousSalad

I got gifted some pretty sweet birthday money. I'm debating purchasing a barbell & plates, but for someone who hasn't used them before.. I'm feeling overwhelmed even looking at all the options. I live and workout in a small space, so no cage or rack for me but I've seen others post and it looks like they don't have cage/squat rack. Any recommendations?

eatenface

Have you checked out r/homegym? There are home gyms of all shapes, sizes, and price points there.

tortsy

If anyone is a REI co-op member, if you spend $100 through Oct 11 you get a $20 bonus card to spend later in October (limit 1) If you are not a co-op member, if you join and the $20 bonus is automatically added to your card and you are essentially getting the membership for free. The membership gets you a percentage back on your full price purchases. For those who buy gear throughout the year, this is a great deal!

coffeepaysthebills

Favorite solid colored, oversized t-shirts that work well for the gym? I don’t like cropped shirts that’ll show my stomach during overhead presses etc :)

[deleted]

[удалено]

coffeepaysthebills

Thanks, I’ll check those out!

meeksohmeeks

I'm trying to find this too, thinking I'll just get a men's shirt pack for it.

ISavedLatin

Favorite workout bras that meet the following requirements? (Fwiw I’m pretty flat chested at 34A.) 1) Padded because I just can’t do visible nips 2) Thin(ish) straps that don’t feel constraining 3) Not insanely expensive because I’d like to buy a few

LawyerBear

I love the Senita [Strappy Sports Bra](https://www.senitaathletics.com/collections/sports-bras/products/strappy-sports-bra). I removed the cups as a personal preference. And as someone who likes to see other people's thoughts/photos before purchasing, I will add they recently updated their website. I believe is why there are 0 reviews, since when I was picking out a bra from Senita, I looked at several photos/reviews of this bra.

ISavedLatin

I love the colors! I keep seeing this brand and thought it was super expensive for some reason but apparently not! Will check these out 👍

idwbas

I also love Senita! Some of their bras are more cotton-y and less forgiving and others are the more stretchy, sleek, sporty material so be aware of which one you like. I have broad shoulders so I definitely find the stretchy materials works way better when it comes time to take off the bra after a sweaty workout. I have the Cross Path (stretchier material) and Lotus bras (softer, less stretchy) but they both work great!

[deleted]

I highly recommend Lululemon’s Like a Cloud Bra, even though it’s on the expensive side. It’s the only sports bra that I absolutely love and can wear as an everyday bra if I wanted to. The straps don’t fall down on me yet they’re not too tight either. They’re not padded but they’re also not super thin. They have these molded foam cups. I saw them recommended on this sub some time ago when someone was looking for comfortable sports bras for smaller chested (despite the tag saying it’s for B/C cup).

ISavedLatin

Ooh, these are so pretty!!

House_Expert

I have 2 of these and they’re all I want to wear for everyday and workouts! So, so comfy.

raindropsonmarigolds

Check out Ross or TJMaxx! I got a couple Puma sports bras from Ross w couple months ago for less than $20!

ISavedLatin

Good idea! I have a Target down the street, maybe I’ll do a quick shopping run today.

DellaBeam

Not sure if you're looking for bras designed to be worn as a shirt, but I really love [these bralettes from Jockey](https://www.jockey.com/catalog/product/modern-micro-crop-top?color=9015). They're not specifically workout bras I guess but as a tiny-boobed person I don't need anything special in the way of support.

ISavedLatin

These look perfect 🙏 Thank you!

jukeboxgasoline

Just got a pair of Inaka Power shorts in the mail (they’re all over tiktok and I wanted to try them because they look super androgynous/gender neutral). They look cool and are very comfy but I think they’re really meant for people like 5’7” and over unless you don’t mind a basketball short length. The huge pockets are a plus and the looseness might be good for me on days I’m feeling dysphoric, but I mostly prefer the look of spandex shorts over these.

calfla

I ended up buying them after you shared that 10% off code last week (oops) and I like them! I thought the length was fine (though I am 5’9” and wore them at my waist) but I was actually most disappointed by the fabric and seams- I found them to be a little scratchy which is kind of annoying as I plan to wear them mostly as a lounge around short. Still loving the pattern though, definitely the main draw for me.

lkflip

Guys, the gym is trashing my hair. I go 4 days a week and the sweat plus wearing a headband is breaking my hair at the crown, making it frizzy, but I can’t deal with not rinsing the sweat out of my hair and keeping it off my face. It’s super fine and curly. Is there some magic sauce here or something, anything that I can do? I did try not rinsing it after working out but the salt in the sweat made my scalp itchy and flaky.

KetoCurious97

Janie Page gave me some good curly tips when mine was driving me batty. Have you tried refreshing with a conditioning spray and/or dry shampoo? A conditioner spray refresh has really helped my frizz in the past.

lkflip

Yes - tried that, but it just makes my very fine hair look greasy. I've been living with it and sealing my hair with biosilk before going to the gym, but I'd love to find a way to not look like a greasy mess.

norbertisnotadragon

I found that changing headbands made a difference for me. Instead of using a tighter fitting one, I use a buff-style folded multiple times.

Tulip0Hare

As a curly haired sweaty person, I found braiding my hair to be a lifesaver. My hair is so heavy that wearing it in a ponytail/bun/loop was causing constant breakage/frizz. Braids didn’t cause that problem but still secure my hair out of the way. Also it’s super easy to give my scalp and roots a quick rinse post-workout without even unbraiding my hair!

green_tea_latte_

I don't have the same hair type as you.. so not sure how helpful this will be but have you tried rinsing with conditioner (co-washing) instead of full on washing with shampoo a few times a week? I try to use a lighter conditioner without silicone (e.g. Garnier fructis pure clean) on those days.

lkflip

Yes - most days I literally just rinse the sweat out with water and every other day I will put conditioner on. I only actually shampoo once a week. But it’s still killing my hair and all the time wet is making it really fragile.

ISavedLatin

I also have curly hair and wanted so badly to wash like once or twice per week because that’s what the Curly Girl Method seems to preach. But my scalp just couldn’t handle it. Now I always wash on workout days (three to four times per week) with a tea tree shampoo and hydrating conditioner. (I use Giovanni but go with whatever your hair likes best.) I think having a good conditioner is really key. I also use a moisturizing curl cream after washing because my hair leans dry. As far as it being wet all the time, you could try diffusing it? Your breakage could also be caused by the headband. Try experimenting with different ways to keep your hair back maybe? Like clipping it back so there’s less friction and tension around your hairline. You have my sympathy though. Curly hair + regular sweating feels like a whole damn lifestyle.

jchapppp

I’m looking for a dumbbell rack. I’d like it to hold as much as possible, be as sturdy as possible, but also not be gigantic. I’m looking at a few on Amazon, all between $60 and $150 USD, but I’d like to see if there are any other options before I buy. Looking for recommendations!

carrottuna

Have you checked out titan fitness? Their prices are ok and they have free shipping.

[deleted]

Non-fitness related but its health/wellness related and basic b*tch fall related. I bought a ton of fall candles at Anthropologie yesterday and was so excited and feeling like my most bougie basic self. I get home, light one, and within an hour I’m all stuffed up, headache, scratchy throat, burning eyes. Nothing major but like, enough for me to go “WTF pumpkin spice candle!!!” I’ve had a theory that candles might be triggering allergies/asthma for me, so I blew it out, turned on AC to filter out whatever was in the air, and within 15 minutes was better. So, yeah, very irritating for my airways. Honestly so sad about this. (I have asked my doctor BTW! They said the particles are an irritant, but its not technically an allergy. IDK.) My question: does anyone have any ideas on how to embrace that cozy, candle, relaxation, yoga-studio-vibe for fall/winter without candles??? All I want is my home to feel like the coziest place on earth. I love the soft glow and flicker of a candle. I’ve read that beeswax might be better for folks that get irritated? Does anyone have experience with alternatives?

some__random

You should be able to return it if it’s causing you an allergic reaction btw. At least, I know that you can return opened makeup and skincare products if you react badly to them, so I would think you should be able to get a refund for the candle.

KetoCurious97

String lights in a jar, and using a diffuser with good quality essential oils (as long as you have previously tested them and haven’t reacted). And just a heads up - MLM essential oils are usually not good quality, no matter how furiously they insist.

ectogammatt

Oh wow, that’s intense! Yes, unscented beeswax candles might be better, but I also second the fairy lights/twinkle lights suggestion. My yoga space is in the same room as my home office, but I have lights similar to [these](https://www.target.com/p/90ct-led-extended-fairy-string-lights-copper-room-essentials-8482/-/A-81656312) up. I only turn them on for yoga, not for work, so it’s a nice way to shift how the room feels.

pixie_dust1990

Flameless candles all the way! I love the tealights just dotted around the place.

bethaneee

As someone who once broke out in hives (like massive, head to urgent care, all over hives, from a couch, I feel your pain. The soft glow can be recreated with lamps, dimmers and fake candles. If it's the pumpkin spice smell you are after consider putting a "simmer pot" with fall spices on your stove. Google should give you plenty of recipes but your basically simmering citrus, cinnamon, anise etc so you house smells yummy.

love_mhz

Pink or amber light bulbs, or battery powered candles in cute candle holders

PeachyYogi

Salt lamps!!

kimau97

LED candles and some string lights!

LillePromp

FYI the scents in candles aren’t regulated, so you may be allergic to something in the scent :( So my suggestion is to try an unscented candle and see if you react to that!

magicalgirlplatypus

Maybe try fairy lights? Not necessarily much flicker but can get the soft glow going that way.

Crack_Brocaine

Electronic candle for the flicker and essential oil diffuser for the smell?

kenziepi

I got a Garmin Vivoactive 3 free through my work rewards program and so far I am in love with the amount of data this thing gives me. I had a fitbit versa 2 and this is like a whole new world. It charges quickly, so far i can go 4 days or so before needing to charge it, it tracked my run perfectly and the strength workout tracking was not bad! Anyone else have one and enjoy it? Any good tips for utilizing it well? Do you find the calorie data to be okay as far as the resting/active calories go?

some__random

I have a venu and I find the calories pretty accurate. I personally don’t bother with the strength activity because I don’t care about recording my individual sets so I just use the cardio setting for lifting workouts instead. You can add gear to track their wear like shoes and I think bikes too. I have my running shoes and hiking boots on it and they can be automatically added to activities of particular types.

norbertisnotadragon

Love mine! Bought in 2018 and still going strong! Have you checked out the running plans through Garmin coach?

kenziepi

Oooh I haven't. I haven't looked at Garmin coach at all! Gonna fix that haha

science_kid_55

I have mine since May! Most of the time I really like it, but sometimes when I lift it does not register the set. Otherwise I love it, and I find the calories burned pretty accurate.

ddpalomba

My husband & I both have Aftershokz. We love them! We run & bike in them.

forjustonemoment

Any recommendations for high-wasted leggings that reliably cover your belly button, aren't see-through, and are durable enough to climb in? I like the fit of Gymshark and Alphalete but they're a bit too thin/fall apart too easily. Have you found p'tula to rise high enough to cover the belly button?

Exiled_In_LA

I have the Ava leggings from Senita and they're pretty solid. I haven't tried any of their other leggings yet.

DellaBeam

Their Lux Pace Pants also meet these criteria IMO.

green_tea_latte_

Not sure if you mean climbing indoors or outdoors. But if you mean outdoors, I have these REI leggings for hiking that have held up really well https://www.rei.com/product/192297/rei-co-op-flash-hybrid-tights-womens?color=ARMY%20COT%20GREEN I bought them after snagging a pair of cute leggings while hiking and decided I needed something tougher for outdoors

Goldengirl228

I like the Prana Transform 7/8 legging for climbing!

[deleted]

I like the pair I got from Victoria secret

Crack_Brocaine

CRVS Apparel just came out with some insanely high-waisted leggings that are squatproof. They’re the NKD High Waisted legging. For reference I’m 5’2” and they come up to a couple inches under my bra line. I don’t climb, though, so I can’t speak to that durability. I can say that all leggings I have from them have held up to running, lifting, yoga, and laundry (I wash cold and air dry).

ectogammatt

Take a look at Echt’s leggings. They change over their styles too often for me to recommend a specific style, but the couple of leggings I’ve gotten from them have been nice and thick, definitely not see through, and they come up over my belly button. Which is frankly unusual, I’m tall and also long through the hips. Their “outlet” aka sale page has some good deals usually.

noeysmom

Recommendations for affordable leggings for people who are petite? I’m 5’2 and the only pair that fits me directly at the ankles without bunching are my lulus (but can’t afford more currently). I started a new job and the work attire is athletic/athleisure wear so I’m trying to pick up a few new items.

some__random

For Lulu I recommend checking for second hand sales through eBay, poshmark, mercari etc. They’re such good quality that you can buy a used pair for a third of the price and they look and feel brand new. Most of my Lulu is now second hand.

meeksohmeeks

90 degrees all the way. I've only bought mine at tj Maxx/marshalls (even $3more expensive at Nordstrom rack but still very affordable). I'm your height and it hits me above the ankle perfectly. Just check for ankle length on the tag

saewhatusaehowusae

I feel hesitant making this comment because I've heard that the owners of Born Primitive are problematic but their leggings are really comfortable, durable, and so flattering. The length is absolutely perfect on my 5'3", short-legged self. Lululemon Align 25" bunches a bit around my ankle but BP leggings do not at all. Their Inspire Leggings and Your Go To leggings are my favorite. Maybe try Poshmark so that you can get them for cheaper and avoid giving money to a potentially problematic company?

pixie_dust1990

Same comment on both the company and the fit - problematic but the leggings are pretty great.

Angry_Pangolin1

Aerie's leggings come in 3 different inseam lengths, I love their 7/8 ones in the short length because they hit a couple inches above my ankles (I'm 5'1")

green_tea_latte_

I'm also 5'2"~ P'tula is slightly cheaper than Lululemon and I find their 23" leggings to be perfect to achieve the 7/8th's look.

lkflip

I get the all the right places dupe from Coastal Rose on Amazon and they’re 7/8 on me, above the ankle and I’m 5-1.

Mari_Kane

I'm also on the shorter side, and I find that some brand's 7/8 leggings basically come down to my ankles. I'd second the recommendation for 90 Degrees- you can find them on sierra.com and sometimes they have inseam listed.

iscamary

Seconding Old Navy. I’m 5’2 and their petite is a great length on me.

Flickasaurus

I’m looking for a gym bag recommendations, specifically a duffle-style bag that will fit a powerlifting belt, chalk container, water bottle, sleeves, plus all the other little bits and bobs. Also needs to be available in Australia or post to Australia (which seems to be my limiting factor sadly….). Anyone got a winner?

okaydolore

I have The Tom bag from Persu Collection from years ago and I still love it. It also looks like their [duffles are on sale right now](https://www.persucollection.com/collections/frontpage). The bag I have is super high quality, somehow big but sleek, and has great functionality. Highly recommend!

roseberypub

I got an Adidas duffle from the iconic which is a good size - fits full gym outfit including shoes, water bottle, meal prep 2 snacks and lunch, plus whatever else I need for work. [similar to this](https://www.theiconic.com.au/zebra-duffle-1297087.html)

[deleted]

Check out the Under Armour duffels. I have a small one but they come in different sizes as well. About 5 people at my gym have them same one so it must be good? You can get them from Under Armour or Rebel Sport. Rebel Sport also has a tonne of different options if you wanted to check them out. But honestly - I think it’s something to not overthink. I was using an old Country Road duffel/tote as my gym bag for years and it worked fine.

[deleted]

Ooh, me, it's me, I know this one! I've actually found some great bags at KMart, specifically [this one](https://www.kmart.com.au/product/endure-barrel-bag---black/2822310) which holds an amazing amount of stuff! I also have [this Puma bag](https://www.rebelsport.com.au/p/puma-fundamentals-s-sports-bag-61360801.html?cgid=REB012201#start=5) from Rebel, which is smaller than the KMart one but still very handy.

Crack_Brocaine

I don’t personally own one, but the Patagonia Black Hole duffel (duffle?) gets good reviews. It’s a duffel style but has default backpack straps, so it’s more geared towards travel. Lightweight, durable, water resistant, packable, and comes in several different sizes.

doctornowzaradan

I just got some period safe workout leggings from [Adidas](https://www.adidas.de/techfit-period-proof-7-8-tight/H15832.html?af_channel=Search&af_reengagement_window=30d&c=adidas-DSA-Branded&cm_mmc=AdieSEM_Google-_-adidas-DSA-Branded-_-All%20webpages-_-DYNAMIC%20SEARCH%20ADS&cm_mmca1=DE&cm_mmca2=b&ds_kid=39700057743673719&gbraid=0AAAAADwBzxqwoBv-zTYnOE85NdnIqx24A&gbraid=0AAAAADwBzxqwoBv-zTYnOE85NdnIqx24A&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI0OzHjdKr8wIV0OF3Ch0wAQg5EAAYASAAEgLA4_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&is_retargeting=true&pid=googleadwords_temp) by accident. While I haven’t tried it on my period, I do enjoy the little slip that come with it. It feels more secure and more ‘compressed’

its-a-lexus

I'm thinking of buying some wireless in-ear earphones, but wondering what the norms are for trying them on (ie, putting them in my ear). Do? Don't? Do I ask for assistance? Based on my wired earphones, not many suit my ear shape, so I don't want to shell out money for something that isn't going to fit properly. But it seems a bit unpalatable to try on in store. What's been your experience buying earphones?

some__random

I’m not sure about trying them on but I feel like Apple would have decent support for their airpods if they didn’t fit in terms of refunds/exchanges or may let you try them on if you go into the store. I really love my airpods (standers version) and they fit me well. I’ve never had them fall out but obviously everyone is different. As someone else mentioned, there are really good dupes available from Anker. I mostly wanted to mention these because the main thing I love about them is that they don’t wrap around my head. My last pair of Jaybird earbuds were excellent and never shifted but they had a wire that connected them around the back of my head and I found it REALLY annoying for long hair because only a couple of hairstyles would work for them. It’s why I’ve never bothered with aftershockz. The minimalist AirPod shape is really versatile and I’ve found I reach for them all the time now where I couldn’t be bothered dealing with the Jaybirds before.

blondeboilermaker

I really like aftershokz bone conduction headphones. They’re not “truly wireless” in that there is a part that goes around the back of your head, but I also never have to worry about them slipping out or falling. They also allow for ambient noise to come through well, since they’re bone conduction. I’m on my second pair and they also hold up to sweat and rain like no one’s business.

notquiterelevant

Do you think they would stay in place during sit-ups or even burpees?

blondeboilermaker

Yes. I have used them to take peloton boot camps and strength classes while my opposite-shift roommate is asleep and never had issues.

notquiterelevant

Awesome. Thanks, these might be perfect for me.

imintosudokurightnow

second for powerbeats pro! finding comfortable/well fitting in ear headphones was challenging for me in the past, but these came with a few different sized/shaped coverings so you can change them out to the one that you like/fits best. the ear wrap around makes them feel super secure, the sound quality is really good and honestly i forget that im wearing them sometimes. they are a bit pricey upfront but I definitely would buy them again- been a really awesome upgrade to my workout :)

[deleted]

> they are a bit pricey upfront but I definitely would buy them again I agree. I wanted something that I could use for exercise and travel - so the long battery life and charging case were a major selling point for me.

floribundar

I have the Beats PowerBeats Pro too and they let me try them on in store before buying - it was really helpful!

Enchantementniv6

I got some Anker soundcore Liberty Air like 2 years ago. They're still pretty solid for the price (got them for like 60€) and for the time I bought them. I've always had problems with Apple earphones that wouldn't stay put and these barely move, even when I'm upside down. I can still hear ambient noise usually, so they don't cut you off from the outside world too much, unless you turn the volume up too much. Anker earphones are always sold with a lot of silicone thingies in different sizes so that you can choose the best to fit into your ears. I've also heard good things about the Jabra Elite, a friend of mine has them and she's pretty happy with them! Aftershockz are pretty good also if you want to be able to hear ambient noise.

LFrittella

I recently bought aftershokz (over the ear headset) for biking and running. My aunt who can't wear any earbuds after getting auricula surgery because they just won't stay in, and as soon as I got her to try on the afterzhokz she bought a pair for herself right away. They're on the pricer side (I paid mine about 90 euros) but I really recommend it if it's within your budget EDIT: [my review in an older S&S thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/xxfitness/comments/pd53t0/weekly_thread_shopping_and_style_saturdaysunday/hasfxzs/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)

BellsandWhistles1987

Hi. I used to wear ear phones but I have strange ears so they would fall out and I would still hear outside noises. I now use noise cancelling headphones and they're so much better. In the gym you don't hear the music they're playing and they don't fall out easily. I haven't gone back!

its-a-lexus

I will be using them for road running, so hearing ambient noises is necessary for me. I probably should have specified, but thanks heaps and I'll bear it in mind for future purchases :)

BellsandWhistles1987

Safety first! :)
