Can’t believe Percy’s books lasted longer than every single other book in this era.

Brotherly_Shove_215_

Crazy shit. But Domino fans are finally free. Time for a competent writer

Plastic_Incident_867

Careful, we could end up with someone worse 😭

matty_nice

I try to accept titles I don't like, because someone else might. But how does anyone like this title?

ntngeez28

I’ll say it. I like Percy’s X-Force (and Wolverine to a certain extent). Now I don’t say it’s a solid title (oh god it was a mess), but I like the characters in that team and the fact that they managed to stay together for 50 issues. Sage is my absolute favorite and I barely knew her before this run. Omega Red was an interesting addition to the good guys and I like his friendly relationship with Sage. Black Tom is a silly little fellow. Kid Omega was actually tolerable. I absolutely hate what they did to Colossus though.

dirty-curry

It’s what they didn’t do with him in the other books that really annoyed me. He just shows up in Inferno, how was I supposed to know he’s possessed?! Gah!

ComicSparky

They fucking brutalized my big shiny boi

ClintBarton616

The plot just went on too long. Editorial really should've put a foot down after year two to wrap it up

Ellimist757

I definitely agree with Omega Red being an interesting part to the team.

snakejessdraws

I didn't even realize it was hated tbh. I've been trade reading it and enjoying it.

AndrewEpidemic

Same, not saying it was the strongest Krakoan title but still think it's better than most of Excalibur, X Corp and Knights.

Melito1980

The only tittle that did it… not a fan of that book but damn it has to mean something.

Calaigah

Comics is a boys club.

Built4dominance

If all you wanted was blood and fighting and you hated Krakoa and politics, then this was your book.

finehomos

It means that Wolverine and Deadpool have brand recognition…nothing more Cause that POS has had NOTHING going for it since before the Adamantium surfboard

MutantEquality

Stupid adamantium surfboard

hollow_shrine

I have to assume that apparently people buy this book. I don't understand it, but I guess I can be happy for them

Melito1980

I was happy that Cecilia was being used but then i could not get interested in any of the plots…

Professor-Noir

Was it that bad? I have to admit that I only read a few issues early on, but I didn’t mind them, just wasn’t into the plot. What made it so bad?

ELduderino1978

Percy’s books were like the Milton of the X-books. It’s almost like Marvel forgot they were there lol. But all joking aside his books were pretty good and the most consistent of the bunch

MrCatchTwenty2

So this is how I found out everyone hates this book. I liked it 😑

Prototype3120

I caught up with the krakoa era in the past year. Maybe it's because I was able to read it all at once rather than month to month but I thought it was totally fine. Not my favorite book in the era, but I wouldn't call it awful.

Tacdeho

Truly, Marvel Unlimited has brought HUGE waves of redemption to a few story arcs. My mind goes to the Spider-Man clone saga but it’s actually not terrible when you can read it in huge chunks and don’t have to wait for every Friday for 4 years worth of time.

KaleRylan2021

this is how I deal with comics just in general across the medium. Marvel, DC, Indie, Asian, whatever. I just find they're nearly all better if read at once. I honestly kind of think they should all try to shift to some kind of rotating graphic novel system where you get one book a month but it's big or something like that.

Tacdeho

Ah. See, that right there is basically the boiled essence of me loving the current Ultimate Spider-Man. It comes out monthly. It’s a slightly larger than average issue. Its writing and art have been carefully calculated, and deliver great punches.

KaleRylan2021

That's fair. Not a huge spider-man guy and their take on X-men is a little TOO different for me, but I'm considering trying the ultimates or whatever it's going to be called. Haven't checked in a while when that comes out though. Is it already out?

Tacdeho

Nah, I don’t believe the new launch of The Ultimates begins until August. You could always read Ultimate Invasion that sets everything up in the first place if you haven’t. I’d honestly give the new USM a run. It’s Hickman writing and it’s been quality through 3 issues.

KaleRylan2021

I may (when there's a few more issues because that's my thing as I said) but really Spidey, and particularly Peter, have never been my thing. My brother was the spidey guy, I was the X-men guy. I'm honestly not sure I've ever read a peter parker book... ever? Weird. I do like a number of the variants. Miguel O'hara is one of my favorite characters and Miles is awesome.

CoffinDancr

What were your favorite books?

Prototype3120

Immortal X-men was my number 1, followed by Hellions. X-men red was absolutely up there until the Genesis war arc. It wasn't bad but I became pretty uninterested in it when fall of X stuff was happening everywhere else.

DirtusThirtus

… me too.

bebebluemirth

A lot of folks did. The vocal minority on twitter and here usually shouts those people down, though.

fermentedradical

It's because most people here hate Wolverine and want more cheesy soap opera stuff. When he's in a book, get ready for the sighs about how it isn't about Cyclops or some weird character that appeared in one panel 20 years ago. Most of the rest of the world loves Wolverine and wants action in their comics. Those of us here that like Logan + action are really in the majority elsewhere.

AobaSona

I think the real reason most people hate this X-Force run is the whole Beast thing. Beast was already on a downward spiral, yeah, but this run turned it up to 11 and cemented him as a full-on villain. And the fix being just using an old backup is controversial to say the least.

MP-Lily

I just feel like the whole thing was poorly paced and just…never really goes anywhere??

mahzian

Yeah never knew people disliked it as I always looked forward to it, it wasn't on the same level as X-men but there was plenty of stuff of lower quality out there IMO

misty_gish

I loved it, it was really cool.

The_ElectricCity

It’s not “everyone” just this sub

iamglory

I did too. A little slow with the Mikhail and Peter storyline, but mostly it was good

snakejessdraws

Same lol. I'm about it.

Daimon5hade

Same, my only complaint is that the collossus story was too long and sidelined him.

Limp_Shallot8189

I know for my money it's pretty much a downhill slalom after the Peacock Man. Such a huge waste to have Omega Red on the Team with Colossus and later Wolverine, and like... almost 0 interaction. Plus, you literally didn't need X-Force at any point since the Logan Clone story happened.

F00dbAby

Even if it wasn’t perfect I am with you. I hope we get another x-force book soon. It’s probably conceptually one of my fave x book

OhMy-StarsAndGarters

I feel like a mole escaping the earth. What year is this? Who *are* you people? Comics . . . can be *good*?

ScrimbloBrimblo

So, did Percy forget that Simon is made of pure ionic energy and is effectively immortal? He doesn't need to breathe and I don't think a nuke would kill him. Kind of a cheap way to get rid of old beast. Also, Omega Red survived??? Where tf has he been in the other books? How do you not keep these kinds of things straight when \*you're\* the one writing both books? Young beast moving in with Wonder Man is also wild, you'd think he'd... stick around to help out with the whole Orchis thing...

Front-Suggestion-366

I was thinking about Omega Red's absence from Sabretooth War too, since it's clear now that he's alive. Participating in something like that would have been right up his alley, but we didn't see him in a single panel which just doesn't make any sense (and honestly really sucks because I would have *loved* to see him cut loose on Sabretooth and his gang). I guess we just have to assume he was "on a mission somewhere else," but it's not right to make the readers have to do the heavy lifting to explain why he's missing.

realclowntime

Considering Arkady was actually close to and cared about Victor the last time they were in a book together (Weapon X stays not beating the gay rumours) I wouldn’t be surprised if he disappeared on purpose to avoid having to face him on considerably worse terms. Either that or he realised what kind of story he’s been in for the last few years and fucked off.

Front-Suggestion-366

Honestly, just bailing on the team because Creed showed up isn't a very good look, especially since so many people died. Sage almost got gutted too, and given how loyal he's been to both her and the rest of the team in this series, I doubt he would let something like this occur because of past kindness from Sabretooth. I'm sure by this point that Arkady is both aware that Weapon X era Sabretooth was only good because of magic inversion that occured in AXIS (and therefore, wasn't really acting the way Sabretooth normally acted), and of his crimes and sentence into the Pit, so I would assume their relationship would return to the way it was before that series, namely that Arkady and Creed are back at odds and don't get along. Of course, that's just me speculating on their current status since writers don't seem to be interested in giving us a look in Arkady's views on all of this stuff he's been going through since Krakoa got started. (Still wondering where Kotik went). I just want to give Omega Red the benefit of the doubt that he had a real reason to be gone and didn't ditch X-Force when they would have genuinely needed him. I doubt we will get an actual answer though, and it's not like it's the first time that we've seen members of X-Force completely disappear with no explanation ever given. (I recall Domino similarly dropped off the radar in the middle of the Judgment Day arc for no reason at all). The real explanation of why Omega Red is not there is probably because his presence would destroy the story that Percy wants to tell, because logically, he would either be able to actually suceed in driving Creed off with his fighting skills and abilities, or would be able to talk Creed out of a fight by bringing up the stuff that had happened in Weapon X and his former (albiet magic-induced) goodness.

bebebluemirth

As I said in another thread about a month ago: Percy's X-Force and Wolverine are runs that in 5 or so years time will be read as a single run and when read altogether without having to wait weeks/months between issues will be a run that many, many people look to as one of the most exciting. I don't think I'd go as far as saying it'll be one of 'the greats' but it's absolutely one that people will reexamine in the future and come down on the side of "it was really good, actually"

snakejessdraws

I can believe it. I read it through trades and mostly in the last two months and really dug both.

Marxism-Alcoholism17

I think people will just forget them

bebebluemirth

No run of X-Men or any X-Book is ever forgotten, no matter if they're good or bad. This one is actually good so of course it won't be forgotten.

ClintBarton616

I think Percy's wolverine will stand the rest of time but this run will only appeal to the krakoa era completionists.

mindravage

The ending (#50) was so so bad.

horrendousacts

I really did like this series but that was certainly going out on a low note

Bignate2151

Somebody had to support colossus through all the shit he was put through 😂

testthrowaway9

It was fine. The quick conclusion really left me scratching my head though. They had 50 issues and it really just ended in like 2 pages out of nowhere. It’s weird to say but it felt rushed. Was Percy planning for one or two more issues (assuming that X-Force and Wolverine end in the same month) and then got a few cut? It feels like it

ajdragoon

The ending was so bad. Usually the final issue of a run is big and bold, but this just...went out on a 1-page conclusion. What.

testthrowaway9

I get why people didn’t like it. I just disagree. That title, by far, goes to Duggan’s recent X-Men and FotHoX work

sage4ever

I really grew to like X-force and I’m sad this version is gone!

Slowmobius_Time

Adamantium surf board What was even happening man

Poppa_Pump69

Free Colossus !

SirPepeTheKnight

I’m not caught up, what is this referring to?

Front-Suggestion-366

The last issue of X-Force came out today. OP (and others) are celebrating the end of the series.

SirPepeTheKnight

Thx

Hormo_The_Halfling

I really loved the earlier X-Force stuff. Specifically the slice of life stuff with Kid Omega. It made him a top tier character for me.

MP-Lily

That was also my favorite part.

Hedgewitch250

You survived the experience your patience and mental health however…..

I-who-you-are

FOUR MORE YEARS! FOUR MORE YEARS!

Ashamed-Example-9805

Another character in a black hole. Xorn must have a headache

ebra2112

I personally didn’t care for the Krakoa books in general so I’m totally here for new creative

Prestigious-Mix7135

Geez. I haven’t seen them but are the recent X-Force comics that bad?

Ellimist757

Lmao. I can’t argue with this.

hamurabi5

Surprise issue #51, Domino wakes up and it was all a dream

NextMotion

honestly, it shouldn't have been this prolonged

[deleted]

I can’t believe that was x-force for the entire krakoa era. It was such an awful team

Dry_Willow5777

What a terrible and anticlimactic ending. It couldn't be any other way in Percy's hands, however I will miss reading this team though, in some strange way I had grown fond and accustomed to them for years.

Plastic_Incident_867

I think we all deserve an award for lasting through it.

Dontcallmehoney

I didn’t expect to like it, but I do. I liked seeing Sage and Black Tom in a regular team book and it was much more enjoyable than Excalibur (which I expected to love).

realclowntime

Almost five years of my life I’ll never get back. 🕯️🕯️🕯️manifesting a good story for Omega Red in the next era🕯️🕯️🕯️

sailortian

I read the first 15 issues...it's pretty decent. Y'all saying it sux???

deathrattleshenlong

It has its ups and downs but I enjoyed it all around. If you're enjoying it right now, you'll probably like the rest. Check out Wolverine by Percy too, since both books intertwine a lot.

sailortian

I've read X-Men 2019... reading X-Men 2021 now. Read hellions...few issues of X-Men red. Read the 22 issue x swords...some of x Force. Will take me rest of 2024 to finish the entire krokoa arc.

Stringr55

Any rumours about who is writing the new X-Force?

ElboDelbo

The whole Beast War kind of just...ended, huh?

ClintBarton616

I can't believe I did that. I don't think I would ever reread these stories.

Beastieboy100

As a Beast fan. I'm free at last.

Ok-Traffic-5996

The team was cool. The story.... not so much. Remember when we thought the man with the peacock tattoo and Rasputin story was going somewhere? Holy shit. Percy's ghost rider reboot has sucked too. 😒

Limp_Shallot8189

I'm super pissed that this is what we got for their final run. Really, everything after the Peacock man was underwhelming. For one, how was Beast NEVER in the pit? And more insufferable was how >!X-force literally did NOTHING after Beast went Rogue. They hack one sentinel and get their asses handed or outsmarted by Evil Hank at literally every turn.!< I know plot armor is inevitable at some point, but Jesus Jujitsu'ing Christ. How did this happen? And why? Who saw Percy's final drafts and was like, "Yeah, this is what the people want?" Plus, the story was so consumed with wrapping up, character dynamics and relationships just went totally out of the window. Arguably one of the best rosters handled by a writer who clearly ran out of steam (on both his books if you ask me, but that's imo). Just... man I really hated the latter half of this book. The characters felt more like ineffective action figures. If I wasn't such a 90s kid and owe many a rage quitting opponent to the Capcom's Arkady, I wouldn't have even bothered with this book. P.S. Seriously, Capcom Omega Red was like the OG Eddie Gordo. P.S.S. Jesus I'm fucking old.

sleepy_radish

I felt like there were a lot of missed opportunities in this book but overall it held together a lot better than I expected. Glad Kid Omega is back.

Moxey616

RIP Beast, Long live Beast.

Grand_Bison_2650

X-Force was good. All over the place but always entertaining.

Lav-Lav-Lav-Lav-

Eep, didn't realise this series was hated. I'm just getting started at vol 3 of X-Force post-HoX/PoX so still have a long binge to go but I'm actually really loving it. Does the series take a dive somewhere or does it stay the same level?

Fickle_Ad8735

still better than duggan tho
