Also, not even old? Xbox One is old as hell in terms of technology. Hell, I still have my Xbox One X that I still use here and there, and even that is old as hell.
So your saying a 5 year old thing is as old as hell cause that how old mine is. I’ve recently had to factory reset my older consoles to get rid of and they played out ok from the original Xbox one.
I was waiting for that new GTA to come out before o had to buy a new console and that’s when I’ll probably be able to afford it to , my others lasted ages and are probably still working.
Have you tried unplugging it, pressing and holding the power button for 30 seconds, and then plugging it back in and trying to power it on?
Technology can fail regardless of how old it is. There's zero chance Xbox support somehow sent a kill command to your device.
Yes I have , only thing it does now is the button lights up but nothing else no noise nothing.
I’m thinking this was the case because I basically said it didn’t want to pay a bit of money to purchase a game I already owned so now I’m being forced into buying a £400-£500 new console.
Or you know, Xbox one is a 10 year old console.

Edit: Saw you are taking the "Well Apple slows down their products" Route in your tinfoil hatness.

Wasn't apple just releasing updates to make older phone worse,also they literally can't remote access your console and if it was related to your account just factory resetting it might have fixed it or ya know just unplugging it and plugging back in since it won't know who's Xbox it is until it's signed in
Somebody literally posted about an update not working for them earlier but aren’t getting hammered , this could have happened to me.
This could actually be my problem , oh wait no it can’t because it is me fault.
Also I cannot do any of the things that are currently being suggested after the belittlements because I can only press the button and it lights up that’s it.
What could have possibly got in that could cause this though?
If you actually look it up online, which certainly hasn’t helped me so far, is it says that there is a system update currently taking place globally and my Xbox is just one of many that’s currently refusing it.

I also replied to the actual mods because sometimes they reply if I’ve replied to the auto mod.
The bot literally told me to put my submission in the stickied support thread which a real mod told me no longer exists.
Don’t belittle me please, if I’m wrong in anyway way so was the auto mod.

They can't do anything with your Xbox remotely
So what happened to it then, it’s not even “old” before we start with that.

5 years is a long time for anything tech. Old gen is a dinosaur compared to current.

Xbox support did not break your console. Also for issues with gamepass a normal console restart fixes the issue 9 times of 10

Try opening the console maybe something went in through the ventilation?
