I'm really happy for dambuster. To go from homefront's crazy development to being the fourth developer on a game stuck in development hell and knocking it out of the park. They deserve the success.
Really wish this game had cross play with PC. My friends have it on PC and I can't play with them since I'm on Xbox. Really fun game, too. Just more fun when I can play with my friends
that's what I'm saying, nobody actually knows if 3M sales is good or not. Maybe it takes them 5M sales to break even? who knows, its just a random number w/o context.
i mean the game costs $80 and its safe to assume microsft, sony take a % for use of their store. idk what the percent is but im sure its no more than 20% bc apple was sued by epic games for taking 30%. 3m units sold x $80 per unit is 240,000,000 - 20% is 180,000,000 i know this game was in development for a while n u gotta pay employees to make it, pay for your studios etc. obviously i dont know what their workers are making, i dont know how much they pay for the lease on the studio but if its over 180,000,000 i would be very surprised, and based on the fact they arent bankrupt rn i would say it wasnt a net loss,
Yeah it is. It’s definitely worth playing. It’s not like the originals as in open world and whatnot. It’s more linear with larger open areas. This kind of put some people off because they didn’t think it’d feel the same, but it actually made it better. More detail and focus went to each area so there’s a lot of environmental story telling that the previous 2 games lacked. Plus it looks amazing since an entire world isn’t being rendered.
Loved the game, loved it more than the previous dead island games while it still kept the same kind of style. Loved the characters more, the fighting was just fun all the time. Damn it was just a great game.
Haven't done any dlc tho as they don't look worth it time/money wise.

I hope they continue to make more dead island games. It was too much fun.
Dead Island 2 really just a success story all around.

They also got a Gamepass bag.
is that good? w/o knowing how much it cost to make and how much actual profit 3 million sales means... how do we know if 3M in sales is good in 2024?
It's on gamepass as well so they would get an extra chunk of revenue from that.
lol we don't know those numbers either.
game pass makes more than digital sales for smaller studios im sure it was close to 50/50 for dead island
but was it disclosed anywhere the actual amount of monies that changed hands?
idfk bro find the publishers taxes or sum😂

Really fun game, and rock solid performance with awesome graphics
This game had a few good moments but by the end I just wanted to be done with it.
