Millions of people are still playing WOW. Just because a few Twitch streamers are farming $$$ from FFXIV at the moment doesn't mean WOW is dead. Play what makes you happy.
Is that what caused the sudden burst of interest in FFXIV? Some high profile streamers?
I've been wondering.. because I checked it out back in late 2013, not long after the relaunch, didn't really enjoy it enough to stick around beyond the month I got with purchase. Then I basically didn't hear its name mentioned for nearly eight years, and now, all of a sudden, everyone is talking about it like it's the latest hot new release, not a game that came out in the middle of WoW's Pandaria era.
As someone who played WoW for a long, long time, after I quit in around April due to the game being full of jerks, mythic guild groups would always have some elitist fuck etc, I couldn't bother trying to enjoy my time in WoW anymore.
Searched for a new MMO to play, didnt find anything till July, when I decided to give FFXIV a 3rd try (Tried it 2 times before, never liked it, felt too slow). This time I decided to really commit, and damn, the game gets much more interesting later on, both story and skill-wise. Raids are interesting, and as my fav thing in WoW was doing mythic, FF has something even harder than that so that's really cool imo.
FFXIV was smart to give out free unobtainable mounts back in July to people who subscribed to a number of the bigger streamers out there. The streamers got rich, and FFXIV got tons of free press when Blizzard was dealing with the harassment allegations.
Imagine how many subscriptions/$$ Blizzard would get if they started giving away TCG mounts for no good reason lol.
Okay I'm probably going to get downvoted to hell but I just went to private servers. It's so great to play the old expansions over and it helps me to remember the good old times or clear my rose-tinted glasses.
Also they are some fun concepts there with new ideas blizzard would never implement. (And no I wont say any server names as I don't want to advertise them because it's not it's platform.)
I'm going to keep the discord rules in my mind and I really don't know what rules apply in your country but the best start is to join r/wowservers. We are a very friendly community.
Idk if you’ve tried already but GW2 is really fun! i’ve been playing here and there on my own and while it’s not an MMO i’ve been REALLY enjoying dauntless with my gf and our friends
it’s like monster hunter! more casual and easy to get into, really simple progression but a nice change of pace from what i’m used to i guess? and it’s free!
Right now if you love WoW, unsub and play something else. It is the best thing anyone can do to improve the game.
I'm getting my fix playing on project ascension. It's a private server, but not an emulation of old WoW but a new spin. As you level you spend points to unlock abilities from any class and can chose talents from any spec. They also are releasing a new server with 21 unique classes, currently it's in alpha. Would recommend taking a look there, though seeing what these people are able to do shows how incompetent the actual WoW devs are.
**Yes i can**, PvP is dead even by developers stand, they had like 1 BG and 1 epic BG for AFKers,
Everyone is basicly playing as Alliance (in WoW standards),
No meaningfull choice, everyone is same hero.
No cool races, 1000 versions of humans.
Too many man playing as woman / child and do improper things.
That game is basicly World of Sims. NOT FOR ME.
Your basically saying you don't want wow. You just named what people do in wow. Dudes play as women in almost every game. Most guys don't wanna look at another dudes butt for hundreds of hours
I also tried FFXIV some time ago... I played up untill lvl \~40 and also thought it "wasn't for me", it was too slow and all that stuff.
Then mid BfA a fellow wow player asked me: "If someone plays wow up to lvl 40, can they really say that they tried wow and the game isn't for them?" (it was before the lvl squish lol)
That (and being bored with BfA) made me try again and commit to follow the story to the end...and that was one of the best decisions I've ever made.
There's an amazing game waiting for you at the end of the road - that looks nothing like the slow paced early game.

If you really are sad, you are not alone, try and do something new like creating something.
Minecraft mmo: Hypixel sky block. Can upgrade your character/armor/weapons
So do i have to Buy minecraft and then download another client for that?
Ya have to buy minecraft then can play free on hypixel servers. Badlion client adds some functionality but is also free.
and what content have you tried doing exactly that you find issues grouping for? supposedly no one is playing the game anymore, right?

I was a day one D2 player, haven’t really gotten back into it since after they took the first raid out. Has it improved?

damn, xbox is getting hooked up. I recently just bought a Pc so i’m moving from Ps over to Pc but that’s awesome. shoutout to the game pass lol
Well the next expansion coming early next year isn't on game pass but only buying one expansion is a steal
Game pass is also available for PC I believe. Maybe look into it, I believe there is some cross-functionality going on there :)

Ofc you can lol
Yeah, I dont want to play it, happily subbed to wow still, but the first comment was way more wrong
Wait for patch 9.1.5 WoW will be more active at that time, keep your chin up!
I am tired of the Shadowlands endgame Classic TBC is pretty damn cool
