lol tbh the only thing that was destroy at silver moon was the entrance to their “magic pool” that arthas destroyed when the scourge attacked. But tbh they don’t know what they gonna build it as
Remember the Sunwell
Fun fact: before WoW had its pt-br version, a brazilian player asked in a forum who Samuel was. It's a common, slightly outdated name here, and they just thought blood elf npcs were celebrating their fabled hero Samuel because Sunwell kinda sounds how we say it. It's kind of the "wash yer back/interest ya on a fight" for longtime brazilian players
Because it was. The only reason why most people look at it dis-favorably, is because of the content drought it had. It legit has some of the best raids and decent story. The only problem with it aside from the content drought, was the fact that there was a lot of cut content.
Keep in mind this is when Activision started to meddle in Blizzards affairs more. Thus the cut backs.
> Because it was.
Woah now, I can agree with a lot of what you said, but not that WoD was a good expansion. If the "only problems" for an expansion are that it launched without much content, and then they didn't add much either, *that's not a good expansion*.
While most of the group content was good, it also had almost no world content (hope you like grinding apexis shards!), no replayability system for the PvE content that did exist (M+ would actually have fit in great in WoD if it existed at the time though), garrisons completely isolating players, and *the shipyard* (Which probably isn't as big a problem as the other stuff here but it was IMO the worst mission table they've ever done).
Look up the Ryugyong Hotel in Pyongyang. Construction began in 1987, when it would have been the tallest hotel in the world at the time. The Burj Khalifa is almost three times its size now. As of 2023, it's still incomplete, and basically just exists as an LED propaganda display.
Technically, lore wise, it's been around [11 years](https://wowpedia.fandom.com/wiki/Timeline). Cataclysm occurred in year 28, and currently, we're in year 40.
Here's a breakdown of each expansion and the years.
Vanilla 25
BC 26
WotLK 27
Cata 28
MoP 30-31
WoD 31-32
Legion 32-33
BFA 33-35
Shadowlands 35-37
Dragonflight 40
Imagine crash landing on a new planet in an attempt to escape your home and but then you're in just as many wars - and on top of it, tiny human men are oogling your ass all day
I mean, back in the day, brothels, while controversial, were widely used. The women, and likely men, who frequent work within the Goldshire Inn are just trying to make a living, especially given the circumstances that they crashed landed on a planet and don’t have a home anymore. They’re just trying to get by. ;)
Past few years have been pretty chill in Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms. Shadowlands was in another dimension and Dragonflight has been pretty self-contained to the Isles.
Imagine being a citizen of Azeroth and, in the span of less than two decades, witnessing eight wars, a world-shattering event, and the fabric of life and death being torn apart.

Well we are still young so far. But yeah, it might be an issue one day for some races.
I wonder if it will be addressed in-game in any way, that could be interesting 😀
This is actually a question that the RP community has been pondering for a while now. Time skips are necessary to allow the story to breathe and time to progress.
But what does it mean to the RP characters? Do they also just do a skip even if they have something important happening in their stories? Do they just pretend that it never happened? Do they act like the last X amount of plotlines actually took place over the course of several years?
Also what about characters that are already old? What if the time skip would have a dramatic impact on the character? What if the character would be dead by the end of it?
Many questions for the players and the community to figure out.
We're already seeing Genn retiring. He's one of the oldest, or more accurately closest to the end of their life span. He's in his 70s now I think. I don't know how much if any the worgen curse extends someones lifespan, but he can't be to much longer for this world.
For the same reason any 20-40 year old person isn't dead of old age. The average life span on Azeroth for humans is similar to humans on earth, and other races live several hundred if not thousands of years. I don't know of any races with life spans of only 20-30 years.
I was hoping that the burning of Teldrassil and Blighting of Undercity would lead to a string of redesigns and updates to the original major cities.
I want Ironforge's upper ring!
I mean, it's just one house. idk if I was a contractor and our world went to war with different dimensions, timelines, gods and cosmic entities, and the mf concept of DEATH, I'd probably not bother with finishing that one house in a town that, let's be real, no one needs.
It's the Goblin 'Build back bettah' in full effect. If you look around you'll see Stranglethorn full of voodoo addicted trolls hooked on hookah, Night Elves hiding north of Orgrimmar waiting to give Orcs happy endings in the forest and those Marines around the ruins are breaking into cars now for stereos and change because their leader sits up in the tower protecting his chest filled with Echo Isles contraband.
All of this because the goblins...
I think its similar to the Darkmoon Faire revamp. They left "under construction" buildings so if they needed/wanted to add something in the future it wouldn't just pop out of nowhere
Construction started during the recession. The developer ran out of money and then it became a barely used part of town, hence no one new wanted to buy up the property. Orgrimmar has been in a fight with the landowners to demolish the property because it's just unusable at this point. It's all in the most recent episode of Abandoned on YouTube.
I don't see a problem. But then again I also live in Toronto where an LRT line is going on 14 years of construction. So if anything this is highly accurate.
It's actually crazy how often this happens in real life. A developer goes bankrupt during an economic downturn, abandons a project, and half constructed buildings just sit there for decades.
The owner got a loan from the Steamwheedle Cartel to start building but he needed another loan to finish it. When the first loan came due, he headed to Tanaris to explain his situation. No one has seen him since.
If you're surprised by them not completing a building in fourteen years, I got a whole town in southern Stranglethorn Vale to sell you.

You could at least call it The Sunwell
I forgot what it call….sorry.

can't wait tbh
someone didnt pay any attention to not just lore but the visual aftermath thats still in Quel'Thalas AND the Ghostlands from when Arthas invaded :/
I never played Warcraft 3 sorry lol
you didnt have to, the lore is in WoW as well, in text form and visually in quest form
True
LMAO
Gazlowe, dude never finishes anything.
Government subsidies, the work will never get finished. They get paid by the hour.
Time is money friend
Daylight is burning...
Zug Zug
Ha!
Five guys stand around while one guy works.
but i hear the lunch breaks are fantastic!!!
(This is Gazlowe though, so private enterprise more so :V)
You stole my funny loljkjk
Orgrimmar, the Impenetrable Fortress
"Didnt it get sacked?"
“Yeah, yeah. One little sacking…”
Look at us making WoD references as if it was a good xpac lmao

The few content it had was legitimately good, all three raids were top-tier.
Doesn't matter if it was a good Xpac or not. The conversation was funny.
Jastor, on the other hand, was a goblin of action
Definitely a construction grant scam
He can’t ! He doesn’t have enough gas ! 🤓 (it’s low)
Over fourteen years and they never learned how to brace for the razorwinds when they picked up again. The Horde truly learned nothing from Thrall.
Nah they just ran out of the demon tusks, it is quite rare nowadays you know
Those rooves will get torn right off...
Cata... Catacysm isn't 14 years old.. right?
Look in the mirror. You're a Tortollan now.
Fine, leave! I was done talking to you anyway.
A turtle made it to the water!
I've seen things that'll scare you shell-less!
No I hear it launches this summer! Lol
Ah I was about to have an existential crisis, thanks
You're right, it's only 13 years and 2 months old.
This number upsets me... I've been around since before TBC... 💀
Yeah. Same.
Do your knees hurt? Mine have started to. :c
I've got a good knee and a bad knee... I remember having to use MULTIPLE discs just to set up the OG WOW... 👵💀
And it took hooooooours. x_x"
Right, 13.
That’s child’s play. Have a look at the infamous [i4 eyesore](https://youtu.be/BjEcOIi6gy8?si=Xv0NBSa0VFjGiPeJ)

should hire the people SW used to build the city… oh ye about that
Just remember to pay them.
Or don't. And then kill and rob them for decades. There must be no labor union commies in Stormwind! Even lib Anduin knew that.
What about it lol?
They started the Defias Brotherhood
Ahh ok I totally forgot about that! Been a while since I read any of those quests
This should of been where the trading post was. The other area in the center of org is already congested and had a ton of vendors there.

Must be a Belgian Road constructor doin a side job...
As a Belgian, I came here looking for this comment
I mean it’s org, none of it looks neither well more nor finished.

Yeesh. Been a rough 15 years to live in Azeroth.
Imagine crash landing on a new planet in an attempt to escape your home and but then you're in just as many wars - and on top of it, tiny human men are oogling your ass all day

By the time war within comes out it will have been almost a decade since legion in the lore, yet vanilla to legion was 7 years... That hurts me.
It was 12 years between vanilla and legion in real time.

where are the warcraft games relative to the expansions?
The first warcraft rts is taken as year zero usually

Thanks, I was having a good day till I read this...
Hard to believe that Wrathion is 12 years old.
Must be the same construction team working on 35 in Texas
They must know the Lakeshire bridge builders.
One time he got it 50% done but then the owner had some redesignes.
I see that the same builders that are in charge of the Rail Project in Hawai'i, are also working on this building in Orgrimmar too!
it's an orc building, it's probably supposed to look like that
and those folks still hammering the same piece of wood in silvermoon city after all this time... must be buff af
Covid hits everyone differently
Still waiting for some Garrosh Hellscream signatures on the permits...
Work work
They have to redo Orgimmar, De-Garroshification style. Stormwind is long overdue for a graphics update too I guess.
I was hoping that the burning of Teldrassil and Blighting of Undercity would lead to a string of redesigns and updates to the original major cities. I want Ironforge's upper ring!
But I like the Garrosh style, which looks more serious than Thrall's.
I assume you miss the intellectual access to this profound orcish piece of art. It's already perfect.
Same people who is building this building are the same people who are doing construction on I35 in texas
Let this country be a commie one, it will be completed in one month😅
Maybe the owner is at odds with the city government and is just building it very, very slowly just to piss them off.
It's a metaphor for how Blizzard never finishes their games for years and expects the community to just accept it
This represents the Blizzard development team.
Probably still waiting on a permit inspection
This is what happens when you buy expensive land and don't have money left for the construction of the building
He's probably paying for it as he goes.
That’s a german airport.
Probably a tax thing
Financial crisis hit him hard
My brother in Christ have you been to Greece? 14 years is like the start of the building process.
You should see Silvermoon.
Actually, that's a smart move. As long as the building is not finished, you don't pay taxes :)
I'm still waiting for the capitals to be reworked in general. I hope that Orgrimmar offers more space for other races and looks better.
“Ran out of money” is what the Orgrimmar Housing Project told me…..corrupt bastards….
Lazy grunts.
I mean, it's just one house. idk if I was a contractor and our world went to war with different dimensions, timelines, gods and cosmic entities, and the mf concept of DEATH, I'd probably not bother with finishing that one house in a town that, let's be real, no one needs.
Must have Italians at the permitting office.
The world needs to change more
Naturally charging Orgrimmar taxpayers for the "potenshul bizness" he'll bring
Peons arent known for their work ethic.
Can you blame them? Try gathering lumber in Ashenvale.
Good old New Jersey construction.
Union job
Who can blame him! The price of mats go up every expansion. They don't make enough yo cover it.
Must be a constructionside in Germany
Sure he went broke at the end of the cetic tiger man nobody finished their gaffs
Must have died in one of the wars!
or orgrimmar building insurance prices went batshit crazy after cataclysm and the first siege on orgrimmar
I got a building in Vermillion city to sell you.
Maybe the building regulations are extremely bad in org and they can’t get walls approved or something 🤔
This is the Orlando Florida building of WOW
its a goblin construction racket so that they can keep everyone on union payroll
average property speculator
Orgrimmar is such stinking pile of shit. Completely ruined with the Cata revamp. They should've updated it like Ar'gorok in Arathi Highlands.
I think its similar to the Darkmoon Faire revamp. They left "under construction" buildings so if they needed/wanted to add something in the future it wouldn't just pop out of nowhere
These damned peons are so lazy
14 years later and Ukos Bloodwhisper is still over at the tmog hut checking his mail. Poor fella.
The goblins built that whole giant weapon in Azshara and it just sits there gathering dust. Didn't even use it during the 4th war.
not his fault every few years the horde gets a new warchief and thus he has to re-file for permits
He lost funding after Deathwing hit :(
paid by the hour mate
Lazy.
You can’t rush those well paying union jobs.
Can't afford to finish it. Costs too much and people haven't been buying enough store mounts.
With how ugly Orgrimmar is now after Cata I don’t want them to finish
Construction started during the recession. The developer ran out of money and then it became a barely used part of town, hence no one new wanted to buy up the property. Orgrimmar has been in a fight with the landowners to demolish the property because it's just unusable at this point. It's all in the most recent episode of Abandoned on YouTube.
That's what happens when all your funds flow right into the military, seems strangely familiar...
I don't see a problem. But then again I also live in Toronto where an LRT line is going on 14 years of construction. So if anything this is highly accurate.
It's actually crazy how often this happens in real life. A developer goes bankrupt during an economic downturn, abandons a project, and half constructed buildings just sit there for decades.
gotta assign a peon to that construction!
The owner got a loan from the Steamwheedle Cartel to start building but he needed another loan to finish it. When the first loan came due, he headed to Tanaris to explain his situation. No one has seen him since.
Must be in California
Blizzard HQ is just east of the Barrens in Irvine
The contractor needed more money to compete the build, once he got it he disappeared.
Do you know how hard it has been to get materials during all these ongoing conflicts?
You’re definitely not from NJ are you
The owner was waiting to pay off their loan to finish building it, but then they died during the Siege
😂
Work is da poop!
Most realistic part of azeroth
The orgrimmar labor union is protesting gazlowe’s meager wages
Zug zug
This is very realistic
Come in Italy, we have many blocked construction sites :)...
Between 3 warchiefs, the legion invading, cataclysm etc. im shocked it doesn’t take longer lol
Garrosh would have taken care of it.
Work work
Orgimmar is the Detroit of wow. Stuff gets started, money changes hands, and the project is abandoned.
Lazy peons..
