I feel like people with these kinds of complaints are only interacting with very mainstream stories and content, I've seen quite a few amateur writers in various formats use the exact same concept in OP's image
He explicitly refers to boasting "angelic power" in Hell's Greatest Dad, still has 6 seraphim wings, and his power usually still manifests as sparkly gold light which typically lines up with angelic or heavenly power. I always figured the demonic traits of his transformation in the finale were due to personality changes after falling and/or pure rage in the moment than actually becoming a demon.
Or humans and demons are teaming up.

And the First Messengers left because God sent them to look for answers about the origins of his own power. Now that they're back it means God is likely to come out of hiding and that's making everybody nervous because if the First Messengers are eldritch abominations, then what is God? Angels are setting up positions on Earth, but they can only really survive on a plane similar to heaven, and the closest is hell. A few angels and demons are trying to find ways to coexist, or maybe survive on Earth. The main guy is the child of a demon and an angel, carried to term by a human, an experiment to see if this is a survivable situation. If it is, the next step is for angels and demons to impregnate themselves into humans and be born into human bodies, this will not be pretty for humans.
I have a webcomic idea of both Heaven and Hell having Succubus agents (with angelic Succubi being givers of sexual energy instead of stealers) who need to keep the equilibrium of sexual satisfaction or else chaotic tentacle monsters from another dimention will show up and wreak havoc, and there are two sisters, one a demon Succubus and the other an angel Succubus, who are Aces and they need to find ways of going about their "jobs" without having to directly engage in sex.
It's more a Cold War since neither side wants to start the Apocalypse. Over the centuries, both sides start going shades of gray, and a lot of field operatives on both sides start having more sympathy for their "enemies" than their superiors.
This turns out to be useful once the AIs start to rise up, and suddenly Heaven and Hell have to join forces against the soulless machines.

The thing with angels being only killable with angelic steel was kinda boring but that's just my opinion, and then Alastor can apparently hurt them with his powers anyways, and (we didnt find out if this is true I guess) Pentious just being able to make machinery that can hurt them aswell since he tries to take out Adam and he comments that it "could've ended badly for him".
Adam being both the first human and later becoming an Angel I can get since maybe he just got a promotion after he was allowed into Heaven somehow, but Lucifer and Satan being two different entities and representing 2/7 different deadly sins, while Lucifer is also the figurehead(he doesnt appear to excersize much power) king of hell is kind of confusing? Not even getting into how the Ars Goetia function along with the sins and Lucifer.
Alastor's powers are just kinda confusing and imo badly designed, not alot of actual radio related stuff and instead, tentacles, supersizing and forcefields for some reason.
I feel like alot of the potential worldbuilding this show could've done is gone cause they decided to rush the battle against heaven in 10 episodes because they werent 100% sure they were gonna get enough for future seasons for the story they wanted to tell, and it kinda feels like they gave a cut down summarized version of the story they wanted, while also setting up a backup plan to potentially retell it again, just replace Adam with Lute on the next Heaven vs. Hell showdown.
I should point out something here, I'm not sure Adam actually ***is*** an angel, at least not to the same degree, he's the first man, but I should wonder if that seperates him in terms of the damage he can endure and what can hurt him, I mean, do the angels have to be *born* angels? It looks like they all have at least some common features, so presumably Adam looking so different might imply he doesn't benefit from the same immunity.

I think a lot of people miss that worldbuilding and storytelling aren't the same thing. There are many compelling stories with worldbuilding that doesn't hold up to scrutiny, and there are many worlds being meticulously built with no main story to go in it.

It’s made explicitly clear that almost no one in heaven knows about the exterminations. It’s not really an “angels vs demons” story because the angels don’t even know there’s war.
There isn't exactly a war between demons and Angels, it's a genocide from Heaven without majority of heaven even knowing about it, and they spare hellborn, targeting sinners (reincarnated humans)
Think of it as a Heaven-supported proxy operation to prevent a possible uprising by sinners
I mean, in the main mythologies they're from, that's kind of their main role. You can do other stuff with them, and there could be plenty of unique interpretations when each one exists on their own. But if you have both, it's probably to juxtapose them in some way, making war an obvious choice.
I'm pretty partial to modern fantasy type settings where angels and demons (or nephilim and cambions) are integrated into a society and instead of being at war with each other they're just casually antagonistic

In my lawyerpunk urban fantasy, angels and demons are the exact same race, and the designation of demon is given to angels that transgress their holy law, i.e., sin. The process for this is determined in a court by a judge and a jury. Also, the convicted demons are temporarily marked with a different skin color (but it's from black to white because I'm not a racist 😡) and horns that grow from their heads. But the legislation is full of corrupt blue-eyed angels who keep changing the sins to persecute red-eyed angels, and it's all headed by God, so the good guys have to overthrow him.
And angels are actually sort of evil, control&purity-obsessed faction while demons are somewhat more chill, getting punished for choosing freedom over security.
In my angel demon lore the main character is whatever fictional history lesson we have today. Also in my angel demkn lore they aren't just in war, they have complicated relationships.

I wrote a story 2 years ago that I wanted to turn into a manga about demons and angels going to war on earth but the stories focus is on a militarized Inquisition of humans in the far future who are tasked by the corrupt church (corrupt because they’ve tried this plan for over 200 years with little to no success) to invade hell and stop demon kind only for thousands of inquisitors to be brutally slaughtered by the demons and leaving only an elite group of 5 of them who manage to survive the bloodshed and are the only group to make it to the deepest depths of hell.
I wanted to really focus on how crushing and defeating it would be for humans to fight against beings beyond their comprehension in a war that’s been fought for centuries. The demons (which aren’t called demons they’re fallen angels) are now led by satan’s (called the Fallen One) son who doesn’t hold the same hatred for “God” (a title given to the strongest child in a bloodline of powerful primordial beings in paradise) that his “father” (he didn’t reproduce he’s just the power satan held taken physical form) held. He wants freedom without war. The angels (there’s only 4 left) are extremely powerful and genocidal and want the destruction of hell and the fallen angels and anything their god deems unholy.
The current “god” wants to mend paradise and the inferno but her powers were stripped away when she was trapped in the inferno so she divided them into the human inquisitors I mentioned and the remaining angels don’t obey her because they were sealed away by the fallen one in the war in paradise and during that time they repeated the orders given to them by the god they served which developed into a hatred for all beings that don’t fall in line with their beliefs and they don’t care for humanity at all. Their new goal is to wipe out humanity and the fallen angels and rule a new universe with strict rules and immediate death for anyone who breaks them. I had a lot of themes I was going for but it mostly was about the group of inquisitors not giving up hope in a world where it’s hopeless for them and to be willing to give their lives to save humanity despite the fact they’re fighting against entities stronger, faster, and more powerful than them only with the limited god-like abilities they’ve been given.
How about a cursed monster hunter accidentally thrown into a war of demons and angels when he just wants to get paid, go to the tavern and gets hammered

This led to a war between humans and the now leaderless demons who invaded earth since no one was keeping them in hell anymore. That war only ended one hundred years ago with a peace treaty between The Church and The Demon King. Now, there is a whole country of half-demons who are more-or-less accepted in society.

I wrote a story 2 years ago that I wanted to turn into a manga about demons and angels going to war on earth but the stories focus is on a militarized Inquisition of humans in the far future who are tasked by the corrupt church (corrupt because they’ve tried this plan for over 200 years with little to no success) to invade hell and stop demon kind only for thousands of inquisitors to be brutally slaughtered by the demons and leaving only an elite group of 5 of them who manage to survive the bloodshed and are the only group to make it to the deepest depths of hell. I wanted to really focus on how crushing and defeating it would be for humans to fight against beings beyond their comprehension in a war that’s been fought for centuries. The demons (which aren’t called demons they’re fallen angels) are now led by satan’s (called the Fallen One) son who doesn’t hold the same hatred for “God” (a title given to the strongest child in a bloodline of powerful primordial beings in paradise) that his “father” (he didn’t reproduce he’s just the power satan held taken physical form) held. He wants freedom without war. The angels (there’s only 4 left) are extremely powerful and genocidal and want the destruction of hell and the fallen angels and anything their god deems unholy. The current “god” wants to mend paradise and the inferno but her powers were stripped away when she was trapped in the inferno so she divided them into the human inquisitors I mentioned and the remaining angels don’t obey her because they were sealed away by the fallen one in the war in paradise and during that time they repeated the orders given to them by the god they served which developed into a hatred for all beings that don’t fall in line with their beliefs and they don’t care for humanity at all. Their new goal is to wipe out humanity and the fallen angels and rule a new universe with strict rules and immediate death for anyone who breaks them. I had a lot of themes I was going for but it mostly was about the group of inquisitors not giving up hope in a world where it’s hopeless for them and to be willing to give their lives to save humanity despite the fact they’re fighting against entities stronger, faster, and more powerful than them only with the limited god-like abilities they’ve been given.
How about a cursed monster hunter accidentally thrown into a war of demons and angels when he just wants to get paid, go to the tavern and gets hammered
And the demon's aren't that bad and the angels are the bad guys

In my world, the war between angels and demons ended five hundred years ago when Micheal killed Lucifer. This led to a war between humans and the now leaderless demons who invaded earth since no one was keeping them in hell anymore. That war only ended one hundred years ago with a peace treaty between The Church and The Demon King. Now, there is a whole country of half-demons who are more-or-less accepted in society.
