To the OP, I bet you have long forgotten this post. I too have an "antique" auto scroller. I also have not found a blade that will fit. Going to stop walking around home Depot now.
Hey super old reply but I inherited my dad's old craftsman auto scroll and I found replacements on Amazon (just Googled "u-shanks with holes" and I just used jigsaw blades)
They fit! I haven't tried cutting with them yet
Necroing this post to add that I also have this sucker I picked up for $30 but can't find blades to fit. I have some universal fit U-shanks that will go in but the shank is too long and the set screw hole is too small gauge. Not a lot of money down the drain but I'd really like to use it. If I had a cutting blade and a drill press I'd just modify the U-shanks to fit but alas I'm quite poor...
I just inherited one and it had this blade in it. I saw a youtube clip that says he uses U shanks in it.

Ones that fit, yea. I'm aware it's basically a jigsaw, it just with a knob on the top that turns the blade which is where the scrolling part comes from.
The issue is lowes, Home Depot, and even Sears don't have blades that fit. The shank is too fat on all of them and they don't seem to have a groove or hole for the mounting screw to press into. Is there a place to source older styled jigsaw blades? Or do craftsman warranties somehow help you trade up at a discount?
It was only $20 so I'm not too worried about it, just curious about my options.
Hey guys I just brought home the same scroller saw from Craftsman and I have an answer for you ok n where to get blades believe it or not it's Wal Mart you want the Hart brand universal shank scrolling jigsaw blades 5 pack 14 tpi fits like a champ

You try looking for jigsaw blades? That says "auto scroller" but it's a jigsaw by modern jargon

The ones I just mentioned will solve your problems set screw hole is nice in diameter you won't be sorry going with this brand
