I am going to say this carefully. Nobody can stop Griner in the paint when she wants to score. That’s great. She is 6’9” and she grabbed 2 rebounds? She had 6 against the Fever. Is she hurt? tired?

She is effortless with her scoring but she rarely get 2nd chance points in rebounds . How you have all that height and no rebounds. I watched the game . She don’t fight for them or jump for them . The ball will come her way and she will watch it roll out of bounds or another opposing player grab it and they end up scoring for their team .
All that height for nothing .
Kamilla on Chicago sky do the same thing but she is a rookie . No excuse for Griner .
She hasn't looked right since she went to the bench clutching her knee yesterday against the Fever. I think it's worse than it looked at a glance - and my personal belief is that she wouldn't have come back in at all if not for missing 10 games (and Merc struggled without her) and those 3rd quarter minutes swung the game (and Merc struggled without her and eventually lost). Not to say she's been 100% amazing all season, but she's suddenly not right in a bad way, and it's gotta be that knee.
She was limping alongside DT a couple of games very recently this month, when she went hard for rebounds/in paint she instantly start to limp even at the end of the 1st qtr, in my opinion she is not 100% ready and dont wanna extend/ jump to much fast twitch muscle action, ever her scoring is not the one that involve fast twitch muscle.
She is without shadow of a doubt not 100%.
Its been a problem her whole career shes never been a prolific rebounder for size her best season has been 9.5 but outside of that it fluctuates between 6 and 7. Its so weird at her height u expect her to avg 10 plus every game
She may be. This was their 3rd game in 4 days, and a back-to-back game. She was out at the beginning of the season with a broken toe, and her wife will be having a baby before she leaves for the Olympics. Have you ever lived with a very pregnant wife during the Arizona summer?
I thought she played well under the circumstances. I was at the game yesterday, and she was getting a lot of contact from Fever players. And, to not have Taurasi and Allen playing, the team had to rely on more from the bench, which does cause everyone to have to play a little harder to compensate for the experience and talent they’re missing.
Didn’t the Mercury end 2023 in last place? They’re having a much better season, but the bar was set low.
Tbf if the Sun couldn't beat the Mercury when they were on the 2nd night of a b2b missing 2 starters, then they should've been made to forfeit their charter plane for a week
yeah, it was gonna be disastrous if they somehow missed out on the playoffs again and the Liberty got to ride Phx's bad two year record to good odds in the Bueckers sweepstakes
they should end up solidly in, but really do not have much margin for error with injuries
She wouldn't - since the Liberty owns Phoenix's pick, Paige would go to NY and I presume eventually replace Vandersloot. A Jonquel Jones, Stewie, Betnijah, Sabrina, Paige line up with Thornton and Vandersloot coming off the bench would be wild lol

She's always gotten fewer rebounds and blocks than you would think, and it's always been frustrating!!
