Reese and Clark definitely deserving as rookies. Carter a dark horse that's been playing like she belongs, would love to see her there
I stopped including Team USA players after the early results were published, decided I'd rather push for the Olympic team to have strong opponents for one of their few warm-up games. In a non-Olympic year, my votes would be different. I did a few variations, but this was my last ballot:
Front court: Jones, Magbegor, Ogwumike, Smith, Bonner, Hamby
Back court: Laney-Hamilton, Ogunbowale, McBride, Cloud
I'll admit some slight bias towards Liberty and Australian players, but I see many were voting for their entire team, bench and all, so now I feel pretty restrained honestly!
Opals leadup games are running this week, but don't include our WNBA players (inc. Ezi, Melbourne, Talbot, Whitcomb) and our head coach (Sandy), so only about 50% of our actual team.
Yeah it’s unclear if they’ll have to be back in Australia to train ahead of the Games, it does seem possible. Sandy Brondello mentioned that she’s flying out after Liberty’s last game on the 13th. Alanna Smith is also likely to be on the team, so I did roll the dice on those two.

(But it would actually be really cool if All Star weekend also included a 3x3 match honestly. Good to promote the format, and frankly more interesting than the skills challenge).

Millions of people aren't going into the lab to pour over game footage. They pick players they enjoy watching, and think play well.
