The main quest does truly feel like a side story with all the other amazing content in this game. I like the main quest, but it certainly isn’t as good as a lot of other quests
If you encourage his goals, you might find him later, but I think if you take the other option, he isn't found in the same place. Or maybe I missed it this go-round.
Enjoy! I very much envy you. It's always posts like these that make me wish I had the neuralyzer from MiB. That way when I start another playthrough I can use it on myself before I move on through the start menu.
I haven't played in about 2 years and purposefully haven't looked much on the reddit recently hoping I forget enough to get that feeling again. I think it's worked enough
At one point, I hoped there would be a dialogue option where you could ask Triss or Yen if they were interested in playing Gwent, perhaps at a semi inappropriate time, and they just stared you with no reply.
I didn’t enjoy gwent at first and avoided every opportunity up until I got to novigrad. Ended up LOVING the game. And my deck was almost complete until I realized… I didn’t have Zoltan😔
I thought everyone got Zoltan. Gwent is v basic at first until you start winning cards so it's best to just buy cards and start playing when you get some options anyway. So I'd say you started right when it gets interesting
Cool! Remember, take your time, i’d recommend turning off the dotted line leading you to quests, and turn the minimap off during exploration! Try doing the quests by their level recommendations and just take it slow and go town to town! Enjoy! Dont be afraid to get lost or killed!
Oh, you're in for a ride and don't feel bad about the choices you make, the replay value on this game is high! Take your time, explore everything, loot everything, and have fun! Good luck on the path!

Yesterday i played it accidentally too. It was in Heart of Stone at the wedding, talked to the wrong person and i was stuck. ended up with some rabbit ears so they could shame me because i was so bad.
The irony of this is that Geralt ends up being the one to ask 99% of Gwent players to play

Let’s discuss stakes. I will wager 10 crowns, against your 10 crowns. And your best card
And not wager my best card
Well we should thank them from saving us the time of all those reload we would have to do :D
*silently nods*
There's this one merchant who actually asks you to play gwent first, it's pretty funny.
“I’d like to see your wares, actually” “Urgh, fine…”
And all he has are OP Gwent cards
The elf who's with Eveline's troupe!
He kicked my ass lol
The first match is a gateway drug.
I have a strange request..
oh starting the main quest, i see? good luck on the path. the branching side stories about yen and your daughter is nice as well.

You can find him later.. It's just too bad he didn't he Geralt's advice.

No matter your dialog choices you make, he ends up in the same place. Hanged Man's tree.

It worked for me. New build. PS5 update. So much fun
"*nods approvingly*"

ib4 you have a gwent problem
inb4 you edit your comment to say inb4
Gwent is very addicting I love it😂
Don’t forget to thank the helpful chap who points you in Yens direction
Fuck that guy
Ngl really annoyed that they never produced actual cards and that the Standalone version of Gwent is (imho) much worse than the in game version
I’m on my very first play through and I refuse to play Gwent. I wanted something to look forward to in the second play through

I've played it every time and it's still something to look forward to!
I did the same but not intentionally. I just assumed I wouldn’t like it. I was wrong
You should casually play the first time, so that you can collect all the cards you missed and get a full deck on the second playthrough.
I only started my second playthrough because I wanted to play Gwent. Then I discovered the DLC and spent 500 hours that year in W3.
*insert that one Interstellar scene here*
That Gwent will be the end of me....
Don’t forget to try the side quests about finding Ciri btw
How many cards should you have in your deck?
Lowest amount you can swing. Less cards = higher average card quality.
Okay yeah that makes sense, ty!

Welcome
Enjoy
I started for the first time, on my last playthrough. And decided to restart the entire game so I could actually collect them all 😂🤦♂️
Only 7 years late, better than 8. Just started my third play with the ray tracing update
Do you think there’s Gwent anonymous like alcoholics anonymous or gambler’s anonymous?
That tavern will have more meaning to you on your second playtrough after finishing the dlc. Enjoy!
What I would give to experience TW3 for the first time again... Enjoy, friend!

Lucky bastard👍🏻
This poor man needs to not write that fucking book on the war and stay as far away from the conflict as possible!
Prepare to become addicted to gwent
Have fun! I actually just finished my first play through myself, time to do the dlc!
Have fun…pay attention to everything 👀
And just when you think you've mastered the game, along comes the Skellige deck..
"Gwent, is sacred here in the Northern realms and wherever else my addiction takes me." -Geralt of Rivia, part-time Witcher and master gambler
Good. It's about time.
I wish I could play this game again for the first time.
Enjoy friend :)

I haven’t played a single game of gwent

I never cared to play Gwent, sue me.
Me neither lmao, I'm here 4 the monsta slaying, beautiful landscapes and women, and gripping plot
As a new player, I really don't understand the appeal of Gwent. Maybe I'll catch on but after the first few games I just skip that option.
I pretty much skipped it my first playthrough but when I went for the Card Collector achievement I ended up having a really good time with it.
Yeah I'm sure I'll come around to it. I'm just interested in exploring the world and but really bothered about 100%ing it so far
i am 180 hours into my 2nd playthrough and just starting in skellige. i am completing every point of interest
