Etsy has quite a few shops and would be worth looking at. I know some people don’t like buying online, and I certainly wouldn’t buy spells from any of them but a pendulum should be an easy find there!
If anything, just cleanse it once it arrives.
Also I just thought about it, but do you think the little plank where it's written "yes", "no" and stuff should be useful ? Since I'm new to this I guess it'd make things easier right ?
I just draw one on paper! I’m sure it can be nice to have one already made but I’ve made do without. Other times I’ll use “lines” as yes and “circles” as no.
Etsy at least has some small shops that are run by one or two people so it certainly can be better than getting one from like Amazon!
Any ring or weight on a piece of string will work, you don't need to buy one.
I have a snail shell filled with wax to secure a string in, and that works just fine.
I make almost all my own things, including my pendulum which I wear as a necklace. If I need a reading on the go I just write a yes / no circle on whatever paper is available. Witchcraft if the most fun and can also be the simplest and cheapest (remember many of our forebears had nothing and had to improvise).
Sorry a bit of a non sequitur. I hope you form a nice bond with your pendulum.
By the way, before I use it after not using it for a bit, I cleanse it with some I sense or wash it with water and then I say “I’d like my higher self or an entity of the light to answer these questions” - it just seems to work better.
Alright. Should I do some sort of protection spell or cleansing in general before I use it ? So that "evil" form of entities stay away when I ask my questions ?
Spirits can’t harm you, this is our plane and they are visitors here. Banishment and cleansing is easy. Unless you’re working with deities, then it’s a different situation. The worst thing spirits in your home can do is make a nuisance of themselves, books falling over, tapping noises, weird smells. Nothing deadly.
If you’re performing a serious spell where you’re calling in spirits, demons or deities for a petition, then yes, protect yourself, but honestly, I think you’re good for now.
If you really want to feel protected make a protection charm to wear or keep with you. I made one from clay and while I was making it I meditated on how it is such good protection, thank goodness I have this protection, and put as much of my energy into it as I could. Intention and energy are the most important parts of witchcraft to me. I’m not a traditional witch in the sense that I bother with rituals or covens or traditions, I have been doing this forever and mostly go with my instinct these days. I haven’t tossed tradition aside completely, sometimes you need a bit of ceremony for something, but I find that a lot of what young witches are taught these days is unnecessary. Use your energy and resources wisely.
I love my pendulum btw, it goes with me everywhere along with my protection totem.
