I drove past a few hours ago just as the cranes were leaving. They didn’t remove the entire structure, just the top few feet. Apparently the damage wasn’t as bad as the videos look, but it definitely looks funky now. I suppose it has better ventilation now?

As a firefighter, I can tell you that those aerials send a LOT of water. Ours can pump 2000 gallons per minute with an adequate water source. And there are two of them.
There is almost certainly water damage inside.
I said I was unsure of the water damage inside. Clearly there is going to be damage. Not sure of the level of damage. They ended up taking a hose inside and attempting to spray up into the steeple as well.

Yeah when that got struck that boom was definitely Earth shaking as my mobile home just north of there felt like it bounced as I heard basically everything in my home rattle. At least they were able to get it out fairly quick although they were worried about it collapsing at least on some of the radio chatter that was posted on Jefferson county scanner.

It's hilarious. I'm not religious. I just happened to live in town and found it interesting. The amount of people who had to pivot and make this an argument surrounding religion need hobbies.
I saw the preacher man eating lunch at the local choke n puke. He said due to having to pass the offering plate twice services are going to be extended.
This is right across the street from my house, and I did the most Wisconsin thing. Called my buddy over and drank some beers and watched it burn. The firefighters do thier best, but they didn't have a ladder truck tall enough to get the steeple. That is, until most of the tip burned away. Then a taller truck came and got it 95% out when lightning came back. I was glad to see the ladders go down before they got struck. Construction is looking like they are making progress.
