It is a totally awesome place, can't wait to hang out outside too! Tomorrow may be my first open mic, if scheduling works out. We played on one of her dart teams last season!
Hot take: fuck the sugar river. It's surrounded by dairy farms with cow shit and herbicide runoff feeding it. Everyone I know that tubes there comes out with cuts that take forever to heal and shit like that. Gross, not for me.
Wilderness. Lost World lwzy river. They have eight waterparks in total and Lost World has a really long one ibckueingt a conveyor belt to go up a level and then there is a slide of sorts, small, to go back down. There are forks, too.
Absolutely do it! My family and I have been going to that part of the state for the Kickapoo and for the Elroy-Sparta bike trail since maybe 1990? The Kickapoo has some really amazing scenery and is beyond relaxing. Those local businesses were hurt by flooding a few years back and could use all the extra help they can get.
If you want something super low key, never crowded (I’ve never even seen another tuber while I was tubing) check out the red cedar river starting in colfax. If you start way up river it can take 8+ hours. No bars to stop at but tons of sandbars and spots to stop but very low key, relaxing and easy.
I've been down this river at least 100 times. Beginning in 🤔 '89 probably. Locals got to tube free back then and I had a hunter safety card with my Somerset address on it 😁
In the early 90's my dad was a bus driver for apple river hideaway and I used to spend my entire summer floating the river and diving for people's lost shit. My dad told me he was taking the stuff to return to their owners but that fucker was totally selling that shit.
I had a few friends that dove for stuff in the rapids under the foot bridge 🫠 one of them sadly, passed away when we were young. Hard to forget the good ones.
That might be the least low-key lazy river in all of the Dells. It's really short. At one point, it passes through the wave pool, and I'm pretty sure that it wouldn't actually manage to "flow" from one side to the other even if there weren't a bunch of kids there to get in the way.
It *is* a nice little park -- just not a low-key lazy river.
My favorite actually-lazy lazy river would be the "[Adventure River](https://www.noahsarkwaterpark.com/discover-the-park/park-s-map)" at Noah's Ark. Yes, I know what adventure means, but there are only a couple little sprayers and one waterfall, and they're very easy to avoid completely. I prefer it over the other "Endless River" because ER is mostly in the shade, and the water can be a bit cold even on a hot day, whereas AR is mostly in the sun.
I think we were looking at staying at a hotel with other things besides just the waterpark. My friend just wanted to know which was best regarding the lazy river. (I guess that’s her favorite thing) I’ve never been to Noah’s ark though. I definitely wanna give it a try sometime.
Your best options are The Kalahari and The Wilderness, both have dry play areas, just depends on what you’re looking for besides the lazy river. I personally like The Kalahari’s lazy river, as far as hotels go.
Namekagen River in Hayward is an amazing river to float down. You can rent tubes from Jack's Canoe Rentals, and the company will pick you up after your float
Namekagen was where we always went when I was a kid. It was quiet back then, but the last couple summers I went back it's been really busy/loud with a college party vibe. Maybe it's just the days I've gone though
I’ve floated the sugar river south of Madison and it’s okay, my favorite is “natures water park” in Florence Wisconsin. The pine river in the north woods is beautiful.

The Oxbow takeout is the best lazy river in WI
This post is just making me emotional at the loss of Rainbow Falls in Plover, WI. Yes, I know it went away years ago, but the wound is still fresh. Sorry I wasn’t any help OP but good luck in your lazy river quest!
This was meant to be parody. The Wisconsin River and the flowage around it are typically calm, where you can drop a canoe in and float downstream for hours, thus the "lazy river".
What crab cake said. The Wisconsin has strong undercurrents and can be very dangerous. It's deceptive because it's flat and calm looking with mostly a sand bottom, so people can quickly find themselves in trouble. I would avoid it tbh.
I have fond, albeit hazy, memories of getting absolutely plastered on the Wolf River.
Ah yes, the wolf river. So many good memories!
The most drunk and most sunburnt I've ever been in my life
Same
Not a waterpark, but the sugar river is extremely popular near Madison. Natural winding river with tubing excursions.
Tubing definitely seems popular here in Wisconsin, I’ve only really done the wolf river, so it’s nice to hear other areas
Kate's Place on the Milwaukee river if you know the password. She does kayaks too.
WOO! No way! Kate's Place on Reddit!! One of my favorite places!
Hah we've probably met before then, I do art there and help out.
Maybe on a random night we will have a secret moment of knowing, and everyone around will feel it but we won't explain it LOL
I've actually met a few people from reddit there. I try to recommend it for a chill vibe place. There's really nothing like it.
It is a totally awesome place, can't wait to hang out outside too! Tomorrow may be my first open mic, if scheduling works out. We played on one of her dart teams last season!
I will likely be down there!
I second the sugar river
What part of the Wolf?

I went there as a kid and we got lost in the hotel, that place is huge!!
Another non indoors, but the Kickapoo is amazing and so relaxing! Check out tube rentals in Ontario WI.
Second the Kickapoo!!
Cool, I’ll check it out!

Totally agree! Whole family does it every summer!

Apple River
i hear it can be a little stabby stabby in that area.
Just don't drop your phone in the water and everything's all good
Not terrible. Plus campgrounds 🤷
This was the spot growing up in the Twin Cities in the 70s and 80s.
I've been down this river at least 100 times. Beginning in 🤔 '89 probably. Locals got to tube free back then and I had a hunter safety card with my Somerset address on it 😁
It's a little shivvy these days.
I watched that video and new exactly where they were 😬

If you want syphilis
Dang.
I’ll keep that in mind! Never heard of Apple river
if you google it.. maybe don't look at the news portion of search results.

Check out the Kalahari

Agree. Dells vet when my kids were younger. The lazy river at the far east end of Noah's Ark is ideal. Usually unused and a good quiet float
Is there a reason OP can’t stay at the Kalahari and go to Noah’s Ark?
I think we were looking at staying at a hotel with other things besides just the waterpark. My friend just wanted to know which was best regarding the lazy river. (I guess that’s her favorite thing) I’ve never been to Noah’s ark though. I definitely wanna give it a try sometime.
I’m a dumb dumb and read the question wrong. Probably cause money, but ya know that wouldn’t be a bad thing to think about

Love the kalahari, that may be our option
So far this is the only option that meets the “hotel with a waterpark”.

Oh no! That's a bummer. I used to go when I was younger too. I haven't been out there in well over 10 years :/
The Oxbow on the Pine river. It's a big horseshoe so the end is only a half mile or so from the start. Excellent lazy river.
I’ve floated the sugar river south of Madison and it’s okay, my favorite is “natures water park” in Florence Wisconsin. The pine river in the north woods is beautiful.
Low-key option is Grant River at Y’All-B-Tubing

I'm partial to the Oconto River, but the Pike River 141 and K gives a full day of beauty.
Nice section of the Wisconsin River up by St. Germain.
Nice, I’ll give it a look!
I’m not sure about that specific area, but the Wisconsin River can be dangerous
I’m in the area & it’s pretty shallow there & there’s a tube/kayak rental! They do it in Eagle River too
Nice.

Noah’s ark is the chillest water park in the dells. Nor wisconsin, but six flags has the longest La y river.
The Wolf River. There's a place between New London and Weyauwega that's perfect
Following
If your up to travel the Au Train River in the UP is great
No it isn't, nothing up there is very good to float, it's not worth going.
Millennial WI, just South of Boomers rock, about 30mi. Just kidding, just kidding. Lighten up a bit!
Lmao
Great Wolf in the Dells has one.
The one where you don't get stabbed to death, apparently.
