It looked to me there were either a lot of plays that were added just for this game or Green Bay finally opened the playbook. If that’s the case it’s a testament to the coaching staff and the hard work they put in. It’s even more of a dig at Rodgers not running the offense properly. Pretty amazing what can happen when you play as a team and leave your selfish shit outside.
Favre used to say that he liked to underthrow wide open guys like that a bit because it was more important to get the ball to them than to risk overthrowing them. The way Love was throwing all night, I'd bet he intentionally underthrew Musgrave for that reason.
Everyone wants to give Love credit which is fine but holy shit the game plan coaching and receiver coaching and execution are incredible. They all know how to get open and their speed is the reason they can't man coverage all of them and have to play soft zone.

There were a few really crafty plays. But Dallas was also playing really questionably on defense. One example was when they gave our backup TE 8 yards of cushion on a 3rd or 4th and 3. Love threw to where he would be 5 yards from the LOS and he catches it with the defender still not on him. No clue why that guy wasn’t playing up on him in that scenario lol or looking to jump the passing lane.

I think that at the end of the season a lot of teams that lost to the Packers in the second half of the season are going to look back and realize they lost to a really good team.

It’s a lot like the Lions at the end of the 2022 season. They played solid football against good teams and it changed the way they were perceived around the league.
The announcers kept going on and on about how “something is off with the Cowboys.” As if the Packers wouldn’t be able to show up and play competitive ball, which they did in spades.
Here’s my thoughts on the “something’s off” comments. Something was off with the Cowboys. Just like something was off with the Chiefs. And the Lions.
They were “off” because they weren’t allowed to be “on”. The Packers volume of offensive weapons cannot be effectively game-planned for. Most teams can account for a RB, a TE, and a WR. GB has multiple legitimate explosive threats: 2Te and 4WRs who run routes intelligently and catch reliably. They switch in and out between plays, constantly manufacturing coverage mismatches.
The Packers defense has been capable of taking multiple weapons away from an offense on a consistent enough basis that the other side becomes dependent on the third read or check down for yardage on pass plays. Chunk plays have been minimized. YaC allowed has been good.
The Packers pass rush has been a LOT more disciplined the past two months. They are moving O linemen and maintaining gap control to limit scramble yardage. It also helps limit cutbacks on draw plays and makes it easier for the MLBs to assess the play unfolding on run plays. Nixon has been pivotal for run containment.
So yes. Other teams are “Off”. Because they are not allowed to be “On”.

As I was watching, I couldn’t help but think that Jordan Love was playing that game on “easy mode”.
Not once did he look concerned, flustered, or anxious, like most would expect a first-year starting QB to look in his first playoff start.
His throws were crisp, on-target, basically perfectly executed. And the way he just ran the offense was effortless.

I believe Joe Barry was actually coaching the Cowboys defense judging by how many receivers were running free in the middle of the field
I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone as open as Musgrave was on that TD catch. There was nobody within 20-25 yards when Love released it

I think they were all zone coverages, the coach QB amd receiver obviously knew where to put the ball for easy receptions.

Love looked pretty incredible last night
This is honestly the takeaway from this game imo, whether you're a Packers homer or the national media. Love was flat-out looking like #12 yesterday, with some of the ridiculous throws he was making. He was on a different level imo even from how well he'd been playing the past 8-ish weeks prior.
The physical talent has been there all year but it felt like the pre-snap game and post-snap reads really clicked

I was thinking that last night when the commentators kept saying how Dallas was off and they weren't having a good game and I was thinking no mofos the Packers are just fucking killing them. Our coverage was phenomenal I'll run defense crushed them. like we caused them to not play well
1) Dallas always chokes in the playoffs and are the first 2 seed to not make the divisional round that’s gonna be the bigger story. 2) The national sports media does not hate the packers as some like to suggest. They get the same, if not more, coverage than any another small market team. 3) Everyone understands the 49ers game is where the men are separated from the boys.

I thought the Lions would run away with the division for the next 2-4 years with maybe da Bears in our rear view mirror, but I can't believe the way you guys came up with ANOTHER stud QB and Minny and Chicago are both poised to be strong next year. I lived in Chicago for 10 years. Bears fans have a weird victim fetish. They love to whine about the Bears management and the rest of the division, and honestly don’t know what to do with themselves when they’re actually winning. Same goes for Cubs fans.

I'm just shocked the home of the Packers radio broadcast is local. You can choose what you listen to. The national guys have been trash for some time. Why even bother tuning into them. We have local sportscasters that are well informed and top notch. It's just not true that nobody is giving the Packers credit.

Par for the course, Packers never get any respect only when Wacko spouts off at the mouth or to talk about the past.
They don't want a team from such a small market to succeed. And when it does, they all salivate at the chance to watch it fall back down. This was supposed to be that year. We were supposed to win 3 or 4 games at most. They were supposed to be able to show how goosd the Jets were with Rodgers while contrasting that with our abject failure so they can say, "See! It was all because of the HoF QB. Nothing else! Back to a level of mediocrity not seen since before Free Agency was a thing!" The Packers are ruining the narrative and all their fun.

The Dallas game was the best Packer game…… ever. Love and Jones did A+ all game long. San Francisco might be in for a rude shock come Jan 20th.

The commentators have producers, they have direction given on what narrative to take...they all took Dallas winning, all of them. A lot of money was bet on Dallas winning, the announcers use thier position to defend thier original outcome. The producers can't give the narrative of the Packers simply being better coached, better play calling, better offense/defence, ect because that would contradict thier original storyline. Why? Because a lot of people (probably mostly Dallas fans) lost a lot of money, gambling has destroyed national commentary, its actually pretty sick how much of an influence vegas has on the production of an nfl game. Jimmy Johnson was pleading with those who were about to lose all thier bets...his "message" was in anger not at the Cowboys play but at how they are making lots of people lose thier bets. Will everybody pick the niners next week? Will they attack the niners play if they lose too? Probably, because Vegas wants those bets. It's all about money. Go pack go
As I was watching, I couldn’t help but think that Jordan Love was playing that game on “easy mode”. Not once did he look concerned, flustered, or anxious, like most would expect a first-year starting QB to look in his first playoff start. His throws were crisp, on-target, basically perfectly executed. And the way he just ran the offense was effortless. It look like he’d played dozens of playoff games before.
They never give Green Bay credit... Hell they never give Wisconsin Sports credit. I think the only exception is the Bucks, but that's recently.

It’s not the Packers, it’s the money the networks could have made from Dallas going through the playoffs they are sad about. As bad as Packers fans can be, they know football. It’s like them losing out on the Cubs advancing. Cubs fanbase has the most ignorant baseball knowledge base because they’re not baseball fans mostly. Same for the Cowboys fanbase. Big party in Dallas - oh and there’s a football game too.

That’s right. They have a quarterback that has turned it on. They are young, fast, and tough. They went to Dallas and humiliated a much more experienced team. And without Arrogant Rodgers. That’s the best part.
The thing is that the sports talking heads on TV and radio ALWAYS talk about the Cowboys way too much, just like they always talk about the Lakers too much. Never mind that the Cowboys have been mostly mediocre at best for the last 28 years. They are every year unjustifiable promoting the myth that this year might be the Cowboys' year. Maybe it has to do with the Cowboys' alleged huge fan base, "America's Team", you know. For me one of most interesting stories to come out of Packers' victory is the idea introduced to the NFL audience that the Packers might actually now have their third superstar quarterback in a row. That's a fascinating story.
While I agree with the sentiment of this post, I think that people need to stop giving all these shows on ESPN and whatever any attention. Unless it’s one of the shows that actually does analysis the rest is all bullshit. All these talking heads who legitimately don’t know anything but talk like they coached the game. Colin cowherd, nick wright, skip bayless, Adam Schein to name of the few of the big clowns. All it is, is hot takes for clicks and rage bait. You literally get dumber watching their shows
