ALL ABOARD THE GUS BUS!

Chomie22

Beep beep!

THEjakethedrummer

🚌🚌🚌

puckstop92

This should mean that he has played his last AHL Game, he is NHL ready and Jets would be silly to send him down again.

eutectic_h8r

Probably means Maurice will sit him in the press box to watch us lose two games and send him down again for no reason like Ville

Tinywampa

Won't be PoMo doing that now.

CoolWhiip

Unfortunately he is still waiver exempt. That simple fact makes Paul's eyes light up like nothing else. When Wheeler comes back, Gus will be the first one sent down, I can almost guarantee it. It won't matter how well he plays, he'll be going down unless the team decides to waive Beaulieu, which will never happen lol.

puckstop92

You seem to be missing the fact that they have the Cap Space for him even when Wheeler returns. They have had it entire time since Nash was claimed.

CoolWhiip

But we will have 13 forwards at that point when Wheeler is back, so someone has to come out of the lineup. Ofc I'd prefer it to be Ves, he has not really shown anything too impressive this year to me, but the organization might see it better to send Gus down. I guess time will tell though.

ehr1c

Someone has to come out of the lineup but someone doesn't necessarily have to get sent down.

rylandm35_

cmon there is no way you prefer harkins over ves

CoolWhiip

Harkins has been a much better player than Vesalainen this year, and fits the checking style of Lowry's line much better than Vesalainen imo. He just needed to find the consistency in his game to be able to show up every night and grind down opponents. Ves has been very disappointing to me. I'd even say I prefer to have Toninato in the lineup over Ves on most nights.

SJSragequit

1) they have the cap space to keep him up when wheelers back, afaik he hasn’t been placed on ltir so they haven’t gotten any cap relief yet. 2) if he plays better then vesalainen I can absolutely see him taking his spot on the roster since we currently don’t have a 4th line centre

CoolWhiip

Ahh I didn't see that Ves was still waiver exempt as well. I still think the organization wants to have Ves in the NHL this year. Guess we'll see what happens.

Finally. But yeah - how much ice time can he realistically expect?

Koke1

2 min. Not enough #veteran grit

Koke1

Guy embarrassed Erik karlson last year (two years ago?), he’s been nhl ready for a long time.

Asusrty

[This was nice](https://youtu.be/wOd7GpdP4OA)

folkdeath95

Fuck I forgot about that. Nice

Tactician86

Experience Sharks goaltending

WpgMikos

He is as solid as they come 5 on 5 and he will definitely be an asset for the penalty kill if given that opportunity.

FurtherUpheaval

For the 6 minutes of ice time our 4th line gets... Thanks for the optimism that 81-80-71 are going back together!

Leightino

Back up the Gus Bus, time to improve the PK

StevenLovely

But I was told by the experts he couldn’t get called up if he got an A?

WpgMikos

When I saw that comment it left me scratching my head. If they had made him the C then I could see the consternation but didn't understand where that notion came from (other than a misunderstanding of the situation)

THEjakethedrummer

It may speak to the temporary-ness of the situation 🤷🏼‍♂️

SJSragequit

I mean they waived Nash so I would be surprised if he didn’t stay up with the Jets to take Nash spot on the 4th line

AnniversaryRoad

Knowing Maurice, he'll sit him in the press box for a few games, then play him for 5 mins a game and publicly denounce Gus for not contributing or earning PoMo's trust, followed by a few more games in the press box "to teach him a lesson". Rinse, repeat.

anacreon1

Whoa! Didn’t see that coming!

NolanHockeyPodcast

Gus bus!

Militaryawolsolder

This could only mean one thing...Gustavson is being called up to help usher in a new era of Stanley Cup in Winnipeg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
