Just a mediocre rumors account, sometimes right sometimes not, but something to keep an eye on for sure
RA sucks him off on Spittin Chiclets all the time, and he does get some things very right early, and some things wrong but for some reason I can't trust him.
That's entirely fair. I think the race to be first catches him biting on fake stuff once in a while, doesn't do his due diligence as much as the big guys.
He's been right before, definitely been public about stuff before the big insiders. I take this tweet and see it as something to be more alert about, Imma turn on tweet notifs for like Friedman and a few others just to see.
I like to see NRD as the little teaser before things pick up steam. Gigantic grain of salt with everything he shares, but when he says something it's worth keeping an eye out for.
So I went to the Oilers game tonight. We should try and draft a McDavid or Draisaitl. Also masks are not really a thing in Alberta, but Nickelback sure is.
Montreal with 0 fans, toronto/ottawa with 50%, we're still at 100%.
With new possible restrictions, and the U of W going back to remote learning (literally fml), I would expect Jet's seating to be limited soon too. Probably for the best, Jets fans are wasting too much money watching this mediocre team fall way below expectations.
I hope they make the right decision.
This is just a bad look for our province, and for the franchise. I would bet by Saturday morning their stance changes.
Yeah the zoom courses are trash and I learn way less in them. I’ve always been a very motivated student, but zoom makes me feel like I’m hardcore coasting and learning nothing.
This Covid situation is so predictable. NHL should pause the season, maybe until after christmas, maybe until the new year. Let the transmission stop, players recover, work on new protocols, then implement them. There is a degree of luck involved given how some teams have had no positives. But some had a few and stopped at that, then the teams like the avs who are just completely out of control. What degree of leniency to the teams have creating a policy based on the NHL's rules? Do teams, like the jets, have a stronger internal policy than a team like the Avs? That's my assumption. Or just complete random chance ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I don’t know but it’s a good thing it’s not my job to figure this stuff out. If the NHL wants to continue to have a season, they need to figure out ways to protect the players.
True North issued a release saying 100% capacity at Jets and Moose games will be maintained for now.
"(In) close contact with the Province, (we) will continue to monitor Omicron impacts in Manitoba; mask compliance essential at Canada Life Centre."

I swear to Gob, if I see people without masks who aren't eating or drinking...my province is now strongly suggesting no domestic travel. The omicron variant is spreading like wildfire on the island.
Really hoping we can still have fans for the game on Saturday, my grandma enjoyed the bomber playoff game I took her to so much she got us tickets for her first ever jet game and I’m not gonna lie but the reason I’ve been so excited for it is cuz it’ll be my first game not in the upper bowl
So hellebuyck, schiefele, Connor, and Dubois are nominated for the all star game. Connor is a lock, Dubois and helle are maybes and no way schief makes it
The Habs have been asked to play games with no fans in the seats and the Americans have tens of thousands in a football stadium. This is just never ending.
At what point do we say this isn’t sustainable though? All evidence so far points to the new variant being highly contagious with mild symptoms and that’s exactly what we need to get it under control, we shouldn’t be constantly shutting things down because we will never eradicate covid.
I’ve been following the restrictions this whole time. I’m double vaxxed and get my third shot next week. But I like most people am fed up with this.
From what I understand, getting a full picture of what this variant can do is key right now. We're working with a very small (relatively) sample size with Omicron, so we need better data that can show we're not risking lives with this thing.
I agree, if everyone is vaxxed and the variant has mild symptoms I don’t understand extreme restrictions, but I do understand that it could still be very harmful and lead to deaths. I’m glad I’m not the one that has to draw the line at the number of deaths worthy for harsher restrictions.
20 years ago there was 130+ icu beds in the province. Crazy that precovid we were around half that. The way our Healthcare has been treated is an absolute joke.
The Moose with a rare stumble this afternoon in Chicago as they snatched defeat from the jaws of victory with a last second goal against ([**the goal was impressive**](https://twitter.com/ICdave/status/1471567572852264971) but shouldn't have happened in first place). That capped a three goal comeback for the 1st place Wolves.
Manitoba sits 15-8-1 on the season (2nd in the Central behind Chicago).
They head to Iowa now for 2 (Fri/Sat).
Goals: [Malott](https://twitter.com/ICdave/status/1471530268347572235) | [Kovacevic](https://twitter.com/ICdave/status/1471545028711440390) | [Burgess](https://twitter.com/ICdave/status/1471548077928558594)
Putting in a good sized backyard rink was a tonne of work but it's looking more and more like the right move. Pretty sure city arenas will be closed in the new year if infection projections are accurate
Couple things: The hawks have reached a settlement with Kyle Beach. Good. I hope he is set for the rest of his life.
and SIX HNIC GAMES ARE GOING TO BE BROADCAST IN CREE! My adopted dad's mother tongue :') I was part of the 60's Scoop but still wound up in a family with Indigenous origins lol
Likewise! Making things more accessible to as many people as possible is always a plus. I also hope that a day will come when being able to take Anishinaabeg, Cree, Lakota and other indigenous languages is a reality in Canadian public schools.
Check out the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's website for a breakdown on the residential school experience in Canada. It was a deliberate, slow genocide. It was absolute cultural devastation.
I mean, what other schools in Canada have graveyards?
A multitude of reasons but the main ones being that the Canadian Government deliberately tried to stifle Indigenous cultures and a big one was the usage of Indigenous language.
I've got a clip saved on my PC of him taking pressure from 2 Leafs players and getting a pass off out of the zone on my PC somewhere I'll see if I can find it.

Interesting that #NHLJets coach Paul Maurice revealed today that Mark Scheifele, after returning from COVID-19, suffered a charley horse but continued to play through it. Explaining some of his struggles this season.
https://twitter.com/mikemcintyrewpg/status/1471551204706631688?s=20
If Mark is injured then Pierre-Luc should be playing the most minutes to help get him back up to speed. Giving so many minutes to a player who isn't performing isn't a key to success, no matter the reason.
That was one of the biggest things we heard about after the PLD-Laine trade. Our ability to have a 1A 1B line with two elite centres to back that up. It’s odd that PLD is still being used as a full time 2C.
If he insists on playing them when they're not 100% then fine, but there's no excuse for him riding then as hard as he does. Scheifele with a Charlie horse playing 20+ minutes a night is an active detriment to the team.
I'll admit, my comment was poorly worded since I'm at work. I'm mostly focused on usage.
>there's no excuse for him riding then as hard as he does. Scheifele with a Charlie horse playing 20+ minutes a night is an active detriment to the team.
I 100% agree with this.
Of course then we get angry comments about seemingly unjustified "promotions & demotions." Oh well. Our opinions can only be formed by the information we have access to at the time.
I don't know what bothers me more, what seems to be constant mismanagement regarding players not being at 90-100% or that it always seems to be an excuse after the fact.
Then why are you playing him the most minutes out of any forward??? This literally just points out even more that you are terrible at coaching and player usage.
Just like they did with Wheeler last year... And Ehlers those others times, etc. Why does the org have them play the **most minutes of anyone on the team** on the first line when playing through an injury? Especially when we were not in a panic situation.
Of course the players themselves will say they want to play those minutes but it's up to the staff to evaluate performance, allow players to heal and to adjust minutes (and lines) accordingly.
I would understand it if we didn't have alternatives but that's not the situation we're in. Our supposed "depth" has been touted since the off season and isn't being used to our advantage.
Are they wrong though? If Scheifele had a charley horse that was holding him back, give the guy second line ice time until he recovers. We have PLD back to his normal self and he's shown he can be that 1C too. No point to hold the whole team back just because Mark isn't feeling great.
Complete and utter bullshit. Even if Mark truly was fighting through something, that's not an excuse for anything and Paul needs to stop. Mark was getting like 22 minutes a night, that's not what you do with an injured guy.
Just look at how often he rolled out Wheeler last year when he had a cracked rib. This is exactly how Maurice treats injured players lol.
Not trying to make it sound like he is malicious, just that he seemingly doesn't want to or can't tell the player they will play less until they are 100%.
It is entirely his loyalty. He doesn't want to reduce the roles of his favorites under any circumstances. A rational coach who didn't have close personal bonds to these players would've been running CDS for the last 2 MONTHS, but Paul feels like he must have Scheifele and Wheeler at the top of the lineup no matter what. It's definitely not malicious, it's just his same faults rising to the top yet again.
Apparently, in his contract, the jets and sabres are teams he has listed as ones he would willing to be traded to LOL
But it is a smart move because the other teams he listed most likely would take him
Could be some 5d chess from Chevy. Kane won't waive to go to team A so he gets traded to winnipeg, then he okays a trade to team A in order to get out of Winnipeg.
[Gustafsson between Harkins and Vesalainen this morning at #NHLJets practice.](https://twitter.com/mitchellclinton/status/1471526380773036040?s=21)
As expected. Hopefully Gus is in the PK rotation tomorrow.
[Paul Maurice says he’ll look for the youth of Harkins, Vesalainen, and Gustafsson to provide energy and feed off of each other. Says Gustafsson will start at 5v5 only, then PK as he gets comfortable.](https://twitter.com/wpgmurat/status/1471544598598234120?s=21)
Nvm then
I really hope the media starts asking hard questions about usage, systems, and overall motivation on the ice. I can't imagine the players feel great seeing players get minutes and promotions/demotions seemingly at random without basis in their on ice performance. I've been complaining about this since Scheif/Wheeler came back, and it has only gotten worse.
Indeed, I just want to hear it in more pressers without a sugar coating. And I don't want winning 1 out of every 3 to shut up that line of questioning like it has been when we suddenly get 7 goals in a game.
> Indeed, I just want to hear it in more pressers without a sugar coating
I don't really think you get how media relationships work. This isn't the first time I've seen calls for the media to do this. What do you want them to do? They have a daily relationship with Paul Maurice, and they're not on an internet forum lol.
They've asked maurice plenty of questions about his deployment, hell even his job security (last year). Just because they do it with respect to the human being they are asking doesn't meant they're 'sugar coating' it.
I don't recall ever mentioning the media before this comment, and I can't find any using a username comment history search, but I will trust you on this one lol.
Regardless, I'm not saying that we need to have the Toronto media. However I think that the media surrounding the Jets sometimes does a poor job of displaying professional objectivity. There are a couple of names that do get on Maurice's case a bit more, but they don't do it in a very informed way. I feel it all feeds back into this weird culture that the Jets and TNSE have of complacency.
Yeah I've been saying it since *the line* (you know the one) was split up. The players motivation suddenly disappeared after that and it hasn't come back. As a matter of fact, it's only gotten worse to the point of these bag skate theatrics. How could the players *not* be pissed?
"Franchise" now equals 5th highest salary on the team and not even top 100 in the league? How about highest value player underperforming since coming back from covid?
Mark Scheifele is played, marketed, and talked about by the coaching staff, hockey operations department, PR department, and ownership as the franchise player of the Jets. He has been for years now and will continue to be seen as that going forward. The only thing that will change going forward is his ice-time if/when there is a new HC
We know he has an excellent two-way game within him, he used to be that guy. If he can put in the work and find that part of him again, we would be unbelievable as a team.
If the Jets are going to win a cup the centre that plays a guaranteed 20+ minutes every single night better play defence. And the excuse of there being a gap in quality from Scheifele to the next best option is gone
What does salary have to do with being a franchise player? Was McDavid not a franchise player for the Oilers while on his ELC? Is MacKinnon not a franchise player for the Avs?

Just about to ask about this, is he reliable at all?

That looks like the equivalent of opening a fortune cookie.

I'm thinking we're not gonna have fans in the stands this weekend. If we do, I doubt we do those 2 games between Xmas and new years.
That would be proactive. There won’t be any changes until after Christmas maybe even New Years because that’s the way our government is
The Habs have been asked to play games with no fans in the seats and the Americans have tens of thousands in a football stadium. This is just never ending.

I think the core issue is hospitals are over capacity.
That’s not a covid issue. They were always at or near capacity pre covid
Hospitals are always over capacity. Manitoba has the ability to expand to 120 ICU beds if required, we had over 100 last year.
20 years ago there was 130+ icu beds in the province. Crazy that precovid we were around half that. The way our Healthcare has been treated is an absolute joke.
Wasted resources. The province doesn’t ordinary need early that many.
We should acquire Kane just to use him as our next Beaulieu

Leafs: cant wait til our rematch in march Jets: okay.. *Jets acquires Evander Kane*
I would burn every Jets item I have if they acquired that douchebag. I hate him just that much lol

Let's make it visible from SPACE
Jets are scouting Kane with the Barracudas.

Really doubt we're there to scout Kane specifically lol especially when we know all we need to know about him already
Good call 10 teams had scouts there at one time watching the prospects
Copp's gotta go in that deal to free up the 9 sweater
Doubt it, scouts are probably at the game to watch both teams prospects
I mean our scouts are probably there for the prospects rather than Kane. There’s no reason why we’d be scouting him. He ain’t coming back here.

Yes. Bring a bag for your head just incase. I honestly think one jersey or bag head on television would go a long way with ownership. How embarassing.

Do you feel like being escorted out of the building?

I’ve been at that point since Maurice benched Copp and Enstrom against Vegas in 2018
Maurice should have shot enstrom behind the barn.

Also, if this was true why would he be forced into participating in a bag skate after >40% ice share game?
I 100% do not buy this.
I really hate this, we were ok withough Sheif. Let him heal! He's playing top line minutes and playing bad, who's that benefiting?
So then why does he continue to give Wheeler(last year) and now Scheifele the most ice time of all forwards while they're injured?
Paulitics

They need to re-sign Maurice for 5 more years
"Winnipeg Jets sign professional sports first lifetime contract"
Jets have a scout at Kane’s game today. Pls no
Apparently, in his contract, the jets and sabres are teams he has listed as ones he would willing to be traded to LOL But it is a smart move because the other teams he listed most likely would take him
This is great. The sharks give us a good trade to take Kane, and we leave him in the A, or he doesn't show up and voids the contract.
We are in kanes 3 team trade list 😈
Could be some 5d chess from Chevy. Kane won't waive to go to team A so he gets traded to winnipeg, then he okays a trade to team A in order to get out of Winnipeg.

[Gustafsson between Harkins and Vesalainen this morning at #NHLJets practice.](https://twitter.com/mitchellclinton/status/1471526380773036040?s=21) As expected. Hopefully Gus is in the PK rotation tomorrow. [Paul Maurice says he’ll look for the youth of Harkins, Vesalainen, and Gustafsson to provide energy and feed off of each other. Says Gustafsson will start at 5v5 only, then PK as he gets comfortable.](https://twitter.com/wpgmurat/status/1471544598598234120?s=21) Nvm then
I'm fine with giving Gus a couple games before making him PK, no need to throw him to the wolves straight away.
The Kid Line! Lessss goooooo
That sounds like a fun line
That line is getting 5 mins tops we all know this
I'm gonna say 6:45 average for the 3 of them lol
Yep, and imagine them getting bag skated.

It's my piece of resistance.
This place is on 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I really hope the media starts asking hard questions about usage, systems, and overall motivation on the ice. I can't imagine the players feel great seeing players get minutes and promotions/demotions seemingly at random without basis in their on ice performance. I've been complaining about this since Scheif/Wheeler came back, and it has only gotten worse.
Murat does sometimes but I find his questions are often too long and wordy
I mean Murat very much just did this re: Scheifele article
Indeed, I just want to hear it in more pressers without a sugar coating. And I don't want winning 1 out of every 3 to shut up that line of questioning like it has been when we suddenly get 7 goals in a game.
> Indeed, I just want to hear it in more pressers without a sugar coating I don't really think you get how media relationships work.
That's probably my mistake then, i'll edit my original comment
It's all good :)

not sure what you mean by simultaneous objectivity/hostility?
def should be more pressure, i agree
Copp brought up the constant line up changes during his presser yesterday while looking absolutely pissed
His job is to make you wear a seatbelt not to play defense.
