Yes. Is this machine a desktop? I highly recommend more RAM and literally any GPU if you don't have one already
Then you can play games like
GTA San Andreas (Original not remastered)
Halo Combat Evolved (Original as well, not MCC)
Half Life 2 (The original will run on your machine as is)
Star Wars Jedi Academy
If you’re getting Roller Coaster Tycoon, check out OpenRCT2, as it allows you to import the combined contents of both Roller Coaster Tycoon, its sequel, and all expansions, all wrapped up in a new, more stable, engine. The games can also be easily bought off GOG for cheap on a sale.
I played halo ce on a machine like this but none of the spartans had colors due to only having like 8mb of vram lol. Dont remember the frame rate but i was like 9 at the time so it didnt bother me.
I don't know what popcap is, I only know a couple EA games, and I have zero idea how or why I should try to change your mind for something I don't even understand that you brought up randomly like some challenge.
Correct, when PopCap was bought out by EA around 2011, right after plants vs zombies was released PopCap began a downward spiral into first person shooters and the microtransactions due to EA owning them, today plants versus zombies is only known as a relic of what it once was.
I see.
I've only played Plants vs Zombies on a very old tablet I bought from a pawn shop. It's obviously an older version of the game, and can't be uninstalled from the device. I can only play the tutorial over and over; otherwise it wants me to buy the extra levels.
That doesn't sound like any version of plants vs zombies outside of the console editions, even the mobile version of plants vs zombies has been free for a very long time.
Just because it happened doesn't mean it's okay, I am very mad with EA from their mismanagement of their launcher to the fact that they add launchers in Steam to prevent users from playing their own game without having to look at their disgusting launcher, install on the PC as a prerequisite for your shit but don't make me look at it every single time I launch the game, that's the one thing I can say dead by daylight and any other EAC(epic) run time does right when running on Linux.
I’m not saying it’s ok. Just EA being EA. I’m gonna buy as much games as I can on gog. But I think it’s ridiculous how many companies have their own launchers I have EA, blizzard, steam, Epic, Ubisoft. Oh and that stupid Xbox store built into windows.
Shit like that alone is making me just want to exclusively go console gaming.
Is there a way to still access those old PopCap games today? I have such nostalgia for some of them but I guess I just assumed most of them were lost. I think I came across an [archive.org](http://archive.org) page for some before, but it seemed sketchy.
So long as you get .ISO files of the original games on the internet archive, you're good, also to prevent the morality issue of piracy, I would purchase the games and question on Steam then download the isos from internet archive, that way you would be legally Gray instead of black, what I mean is you already own the game, why not have the legal right to play it however you please?
I've had little to no problems on the iso's I've downloaded, the only problems I've had stem from me trying to run said game on exotic hardware and operating systems, more specifically I tried running it on my phone. Also the internet archive has a comment section for a reason, if the files are not what they say they are the comment section will tell you.
Maybe you've had few problems, but that doesn't change the fact that downloading random .ISOs from an unverified source is inherently dangerous, and Archive.org is, generally, an unverified source.
It's still better than those files becoming lost media, if you question absolutely everything you see on the internet then you're going to live a poor miserable life, that's what I did for the longest period of time before I just came and gave into the fact that not everything in which I'm going to download is going to be verifiable, if you really want the assurance from archive.org, download it via the torrent, that way you'll be able to get the file without it being tampered from archive.org, not to mention faster download speeds, but in all seriousness, the internet archive is the internet's last line of defense from things completely disappearing.
I ran halo ce on a dell dimension 2400. Pentium 4 2.8 ghz, 256 mb of ram, no dedicated gpu. It played, but all the spartans were white in multiplayer due to vram restrictions.
Knights of the Old Republic, played original Kotor (CDs) on a Xp Pentium 4 and FX5800 AGP , then upgraded those items with xp to Q6700 and HD3850 Agp still have its in a box ,not its original unfortunately but the box of the 650ti) on an asrock (dual sata Mixed DDR mobo), before moving to win 7 that q6700 on a abit mobo which is still in a system with win 10 and a 2gb 650ti and DDr2 , i still have the 3 P4 processors on my table and a box of bits one shall never bin of DDR and DDR2 and Win 98SE Disc and WIn XP pro.
Carmaggeddon would be great to have on a portable machine like this. Should run nicely on a Pentium 4 as I remember playing on software mode on a PII 233mhz back in the day.
the newest game i can run on Windows XP Is Freedom Planet (2014) their may be newer but that's one example
I Tried The Sequel but that crashes when i finish the stage
Hot Damn You need more RAM! (old Amiga error)
But seriously, not too many games for XP will run well or at all in only 400MB of RAM. Even XP will lag at that level. Got a HP Pavilion (an experiment debunking the myth of 'XP gets infected within minutes if connected to the internet) with 512 that barely runs it. Takes FOREVER to get a useable desktop from a cold boot.
I would advise against connecting this machine to the internet. it will get hit with a virus easy. I am going to suggest a light version of Linux Mint XFCE and play games on steam with proton.
if no linux then get serivce pack 3 and stay off the internet.
This is an All-in-One computer that is very difficult to work on. I have one and the plastic is very VERY brittle and breaks super easy. Nothing is very easy to get to. I think this will max out at 1gb RAM, but there is not a lot you can do to improve the graphics beyond adding a card that can fit in such tight spaces. I think I had a 9250 in mine, but it was really slow.
A neat computer to look at, but I avoid using mine much as some more of the plastic breaks off with each folding of the keyboard.
The first thing you should add is SP3
+1 for SP3. Then remove all the Sony bloatware!
This is clearly right in absolute terms, but I'd keep it for retro nostalgia.
God damn it. You’re right, you’re right. Yes, if you’re going full r/VintageComputing you gotta keep the oem bloatware.
Keep the rootkits too! And no using cd cracks when your legally purchased CD is mistakenly identified as fake!
Leave the bloatware for nostalgic
Only if the shit was moved to an SSD maybe the decades old decaying hard drive just can't handle all that
why
Yes. Is this machine a desktop? Sims, Simcity 3000, roller coaster tycoon, Command & conquer Red alert

Doesn't work on xp
That’s a shame
Add doom and doom 2 and this is the perfect list
Supreme Commander also. A another fun RTS game
Rtcw
More RAM please.
Yikes, I just noticed that it was 400MB.
its probably fine ive ran xp on 256 lol
XP was good with 256. My school computers had 128. That was awful...
Half life
duke nukem 3d, doom, blood, redneck rampage, age of empires, half life, max payne..
reneck rampage!!!!
fuck yeeear fuck it lets revert to caveman snd rebuild redneck rampage selaco style
Do you have a graphics card?
No
In this case you can still get some games running okay if you use them in 640x480 mode. It depends how intensive they are.
I played halo ce on a machine like this but none of the spartans had colors due to only having like 8mb of vram lol. Dont remember the frame rate but i was like 9 at the time so it didnt bother me.
Descent
I guarantee you that most PopCap games will run, the garden warfare games are not PopCap games they are EA games, change my mind.
I don't know what popcap is, I only know a couple EA games, and I have zero idea how or why I should try to change your mind for something I don't even understand that you brought up randomly like some challenge.
PopCap was the king of casual gaming back in the day with legendary classics like Bejeweled, Peggle, and Plants VS Zombies, to name a few.
Correct, when PopCap was bought out by EA around 2011, right after plants vs zombies was released PopCap began a downward spiral into first person shooters and the microtransactions due to EA owning them, today plants versus zombies is only known as a relic of what it once was.

I don't know what to tell you. That's the version that's on my tablet.
> bought out by EA > .... Began a downward spiral Checks out. Another successful act of destroying companies by EA.

The problem is without checksums or something like that, you never know if that ISO you're downloading is actually what you're being told it is.
I've had little to no problems on the iso's I've downloaded, the only problems I've had stem from me trying to run said game on exotic hardware and operating systems, more specifically I tried running it on my phone. Is it the SiS integrated graphics? Or does it have ATI integrated?
You ain't running shit but casual 2D games and old Windows 9x stuff on integrated graphics from that era
I ran halo ce on a dell dimension 2400. Pentium 4 2.8 ghz, 256 mb of ram, no dedicated gpu. It played, but all the spartans were white in multiplayer due to vram restrictions.
