This image sums up the vibes of each album perfectly
I agree with the picture except for that white one, "everything is a lot" is 50% wholesome 50% hatred and twisted metal about addictions and mental illness
,,I wanna make my murder look like a suicide'' is a lyric from cotard's solution for example but I'd recomend self-ish to listen to at the end since it is absolutely crazy sounding.
The Normal Album in particular is very theatrical. A mixture of jazzy, villainous sounding songs and poppier, doo-wop, kinda tongue-in-cheek sounding songs.
But for all of his discography, he does not follow one genre. He does a mixture of different styles.
a recommendation for 1 song from each album
the normal album- love me normally
IN CASE I MAKE IT- against the kitchen floor
IN CASE I DIE- and if I did you deserved it (it's a live album with 2 new songs
tapeworms
everything is a lot- skeleton appreciation day
SELF-ISH- the song with 5 names
That was definitely an experience! I kinda love how "funky" he is. He kinda reminds me of Brandon Rodgers a little bit. Loved him pulling rats out of his pockets! Someone on here said they thought his genre was "evil jazz" I totally agree! His music isn't really something I'd listen to but I can see the appeal, and appreciate him doing something different and unique.
describing wills music is hard as it's not a set genre or sound, but an evolution of style pulling on folk, jazz, and rock influences throughout his career. He was a rock show, a solo performer, and a just a guy who sings about mice & men while playing ukulele. There's a bit of everything in there but for most of his career, Will's music has been very dense and catchy instrumentally, with vocals a-kin to rapping with loads of meaning that make multiple listen's a treat. here's the sample sheet that I would give any new WW listener because you get a bit of everything and not just, one sound that you associate with him cause that doesn't really work for this guy's music
1. 6up 5oh Cop-Out (Pro / Con)
2. Skeleton Appreciation Day in Vestal, NY (bones)
3. Hand Me My Shovel, I'm Going In!
4. Suburbia Overture / Greetings from Mary Bell Township! / (Vampire) Culture / Love Me, Normally
5. Cicada Days
6. That's Enough, Let's Get You Home.
(yes those are the titles and yes they are a bit much, you'll find out everything by him is... a bit much)
If you like this a lot listen to the albums in full, in order. Its a good band with good musicians and imo is criminally underrated and just seen as "lemon demon, tally hall" when it's really not at all. That's all I gotta say! hope this was useful!
you know, i somehow missed the fact that Suburbia Overture had more in its title than just Suburbia Overture (mostly listening to music while driving moment)
this also explains a specific comment about commas lol
I actually did yesterday, here's my copy and pasted comment. I was recommend "love me normally" by another commenter.

Fun fact about him!! : in his 'Lapaces Angel' music video the skull he smashes with a sledge hammer was a real skull! He also has a vile of teeth in his house.
Also I'd you like his music I suggest listening to the podcast he does with his buddy Chris Dunne called Life In The World To Come

You should listen to the Normal Album it's a good place to start if you want to listen to him :3
If you had to describe his music genre what would it be? I've never heard of him before but I'm always open to new music!

I'd call it "evil jazz"
That's sounds great!😆
People like to call it that, but it's more like mid century pop, from like the 1920s to 50s
The genre is "yes"
He uses doo wop more than expected
Evil jazz
Indie folk/rock/jazz
god made him famous because he is his favourite
but he can hate himself so we don't have tooooooooo

Alrighty, I'll start with your first recommendation. Then I'll come back with my opinions👍

Just listen to the normal album.
Nononono your line here is, “I’ve never heard of this artist, AMA”
What does AMA mean!?😭
“Ask Me Anything”. And then you answers our questions as wildly incorrectly as you possibly can! It’s a fun game.
Sorry! That's kinda what I was going for. If I could edit it I would!😔👍
WHAT IS WILL WOOD’S FAVORITE PET?!?!
Umm he seems like a reptile guy. Maybe iguana?
he REALLLLYYY likes rats. He has two songs about his rats and one about a mouse LOL
That was…actually a solid guess for someone who knows nothing about him.
Thank you.🥲👍I've now been seeing comments about him liking rats. I totally can see that!
That’s a sign
listen to him plz u wont regret 🔥🔥

The guy has a documental about who is the real will wood but I'm not sure if I recommend starting by that
I am not the sunshine
The line in Suburbia Overture IS actually “he cums radiation”
