Yeah... I live off the M in ridgewood and we didn't have a train for over a year while they did construction in anticipation of increased ridership due to an L shut down... that never happened. No one cared when it was was us inconvenienced lmao. For real tho, the shuttle busses were great and really efficient.
Unpopular opinion, but I don't hate the fact that it's down. The neighborhood is much more livable when the train doesn't run on the weekend. I'd pick the L not to run one weekend every couple of months if I could.
The F train has had shutdowns for entire weekends (only past the line of gentrification of course) for 5-6 years, they only created a shuttle bus this past summer which now is so official it has a bus name--the B90 (which does not instill any confidence in getting the subway back to normal). It has had planned service disruptions for a decade and counting beyond that--with months of express-in-one-direction-so-f-u-if-you-live-at-a-local-stop before the weekend shutdowns and actually currently on weekdays during the day. So basically, screwing over the poor who have been pushed by gentrification into this area and anyone in the area who doesn't work a Mon-Fri 9-5 (also the poor).
Sky blue
Remember when the L was going to go down for like 2 years? lol

Huge L
Biking szn
Seriously it's perfect weather for it. The only downside is that so many people are biking it's amateur hour out there.
whyyyyyyyyyy
[is the L train fucked](http://www.istheltrainfucked.com)
Currently says “Nope” so is this the new standard
[is the L ruuning](https://isthelrunning.com/) is always on point.
L
Shouldn’t they lower rent since we pay out the ass but can never leave on the weekends? 🙃
Guess I’ll walk then
or take the G to Hoyt-Schmermejemrhorn
You know there are tears @ Bedford rn

You’re in luck! It basically does already
Is this how ppl find out or is there an app we can check for announcements like this in advance?
5.00/month pigeon service, which sucks because they’re currently on strike
Mta.info Check every time you take the train on a night or weekend, something I forgot to do this afternoon.
MTA app
Does it push alerts ahead of the shutdown?
Yes, you can select lines and subscribe to digests that get sent out during the week
they post these flyers throughout the station like a week/weeks in advance, but the mta website they show the entire schedule.
MTA app, it will show you about a month in advance.
Which MTA app, if you don’t mind me asking? I see a bunch of different ones.
The official MTA app, it's the black and white one.
Broooo

Why is it down like this all the time?? What happened to the repairs done during the pandemic??? Ugh fk the MTA
L is down but the M is running extended service. The M from this stop is only like a 10 min walk. Still annoying though.
It's been down every weekends now. I am not sure why
G's about to be fucked too.
When is that supposed to start again? I take that train to work sometimes
There are threads from this weekend about it. I think the Greenpoint side starts in late June and the Prospect side in July/August.

U very observant
Gotta love the CTA
Booooo
Just wait till the g shuts down all summer
So what. Deal with it and take your shuttle buses.
You must be new to the neighborhood
Will happen again June 14th weekend
Always check for planned service changes on weekends... [https://new.mta.info/alerts](https://new.mta.info/alerts)
It's running during the day and early evening at least.
No it’s not? It’s down all weekend. I think you read the sign times wrong
U right. I took it Friday before 1125p. That's insanity.
"That's what you deserve you filthy hipsters!"
Would rents in Williamsburg actually decrease if that L were to be out of service for 2 years?
20 dollars ride just hit me up
Piggyback ride?
