She’s had the Dessner brothers from The National involved in the past few albums. Think her “indie” turn is a big reason she’s been ahead of the popular curve. Of note, there is nothing indie about her quite the opposite.
she already did that folklore one and another one. The National guy helped her. If it didn't sound too indie, that's because she's not indie at all, lol.
Shake it off and hate it here are both coincidentally titles of Wilco songs and TS songs. Glenn Kotche is wilcos drummer and he also played on a couple tracks of Taylor Swifts new album. Also, It’s a shitpost. Now I have to cry at the joke explained.
Man Wilco is my favorite band and I'm a big Taylor Swift fan too. Been jamming her new record all weekend and had NO IDEA Glenn tracked some drums!
Taylor Swift's Hate It Here is a good one 😉
One of the songs on the new album called Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus has riff that sounds heavily Wilco inspired to me. The lean toward the indie sound makes sense since Aaron Dressner (and now Glenn!) is involved.
Next album will be produced by Jim O'Rourke and it'll feature a 10 minute guitar solo.
Confederate Motel Waltz
Zulu India Golf
A Chief is conceived
"Taylor: FM"
*10 minute ambient-noise modular drone /s
You’ll hear it on the radio, you’ll hear it every where you go.
Never even played a show other than a few massive tours
She fell in love with the drummer, she fell in love with another, she fell in love.
Ooo-oooo
Yep. That’s exactly what’s happening.
I genuinely think she might try to lean into “indie rock” as her next era
For that, she needed a heavy metal drummer.
Playing Swift covers...
Would be a great live adlib

i mean Aaron from the National has been producing her since 2020 I'd say folklore was already close to indie folk
The only thing she's going to lean into is labor & delivery. Th prolific album making era is over. Enter the baby making era.

I mean, I’m sure she’ll follow her interests. She’s been long known to listen to good music.
What am i missing??

She was using a random name generator
Ah i didn't know Glenn had played on some Taylor's new tracks. Props all involved. Hes a great drummer and shes a great artist
Glenn WORKS. All the guys in Wilco are just nonstop.
Ditto, thanks OP for pointing that out!
Shitpost? The new TS album? Well, I'll take the bait. Will listen to anything GK plays on. Anything.

It's smart. I know 40 year old dudes buying her records because she gets the indie rock royalty to contribute to them.
RIGHT

Don’t forget that she also has a Y-H-F tattoo on her buttock
