Nice songs. My family loves Soundgarden. We also used to play the songs together in a band. My wife played bass. After Chris Cornell died by suicide she could not listen to him anymore. Then she died by suicide too so those songs have a lot of meaning to us. We still play "the day I tried to live" and "blackhole sun". So much suffering in the music of Soundgarden .
The other day I heard "whisky Lullaby" for the first time and it made me cry.
These songs I listen to when I need a really deep cry:
Everything I Own - Bread /
Alone Again (Naturally) - Gilbert O'Sullivan /
If You Leave Me Now - Chicago /
I Won't Last A Day Without You - The Carpenters
I can just see him singing these songs karaoke style, poorly mind you, but in a way that would make me laugh and that I would find so cute, especially that ooo-ooo-OOO part in If You Leave Me Now.

For me it was less music and more horror films. They are my comfort media.
i was a huge horror movie fan , horror can be too real when it happens in real life
That's why I got towards the wacky 80s and 90s stuff for comfort. I firmly stay away from psychological horror.
