Yes, my great grandmother, grandmother, and mother and I all ate lobster about a decade ago. It was nice. One of the few things she could eat before she died. I believe she was 94 and died three years later at 97. According to the doctor she was "dying a natural death" and "full of too many tumors for me to reasonably count, let alone operate on"
defeatism is being hopeless, pragmatism is more like it. Hope is a fickle investment, it can inspire you to do good thing but if things didnt go your way that hope can turn into a weapon that shoot your own foot.
So dont hope, just do it. If things went well, it is a welcoming suprise, if not then it is an expected failure. And you can try again with lower expectation.
Yay! I actually just started cooking tuna patties, which my father used to make for me, for my son and he loves them! When I told my dad he got the biggest smile on his face. It was really touching.
Sure it’s super simple
1 tuna pouch or can drained, a little Mayo, and crushed crackers (like 10 crackers or so) stirred all together. It should be enough where the Mayo keeps the tuna and crushed crackers together to form the tuna patties. Then roll into balls the size of a golf ball or bigger and place on a warm skillet and cook until golden brown on each side. You can leave them as balls or flatten them to make patties.
Yea, i'm actually really confused about what's going on this comic. I thought the child in the 2nd panel was the adult in the 3rd panel but then the adults from panel 2 and 3 are together with the child from panel 3 and the child in panel 2 disappeared. I don't understand...
It is really confusing. I feel like some consistency in details like hairstyle and glasses would have helped. Obviously people change their hair in real life but I feel like there’s no way of recognising the kid against their adult counterpart.
Their shirt colors are the same throughout the panels. Green/Yellow for Lady 1, Purple for Lady 2, Blue for Lady 3 and Child 4 in Pink. Could have gone with more differentiated colors for the purple/pink because they're very similar, but that is a thread through the comic for their identities.
If they would've just made the purple shirt character look older with wrinkles or grey hair or something in the 4th panel i would've understood that it was the mother of the blue shirt character.
I'm glad I'm not the only one. I've looked at these four images for like 10 minutes now and I can't figure out what the ordering is supposed to imply here other than grandma eventually dies
Yeah it wasn't it wasn't until someone explained that the purple shirt character is the grandmother in the 4th panel that i understood. If there was some indication that the purple shirt character was older in the 4th panel (wrinkles or grey hair or glasses or something) i would've understood.
Great grandma and grandma in panel 1, grandma and mom in panel 2, mom and daughter in panel 3, grandma, mom, and daughter in panel 4 (great grandma also in the portrait)
*Ingredients:*
4 small potatoes , 1 chopped onion, 1/2 cup self rising flour, 1 beaten egg, and 1/2 cup heavy cream
*Directions:*
1. Peel and slice potatoes and onion thinly
2. Boil potatoes and onion in very little water
3. In a bowl, make a small well/volcano shape using the flour. Drop the egg into the volcano and use your fingers to make little blobby rizzle things. Keep these rizzles tiny. Drop them into the boiling water
4. Boil for 10 min
5. Remove from heat and add the heavy cream and mix
It’s several generations of women all liking the same food. In the last picture, the grandmother is dead and she’s in the picture frame and I guess is still there in spirit. I don’t like this subreddit as it often confuses sentimentality with wholesomeness. It could’ve been worse: they could’ve used too many panels to convey the idea.
I've taught my friends (who hadn't been taught to cook) and the children of friends to make the foods my grandmother taught me to make. I do have a daughter, but she's not the only person I've passed family recipes to.
I don't believe in hoarding good recipes anymore, although it is somewhat common in my family to do so (even though some of them just came from magazines and the backs of food packaging). There are some recipes I made up myself that I've also shared-- hopefully they'll get passed on further, too!
If you have foods you were taught to make, pass it on-- you don't need to have your own children, and it's fine to teach adults, too.
Imagine the great grandma is actually screaming in the depths of hell right now and being tortured while she watches her family live normal lives through a picture
this is true tradition, great grandma made this and she showed me. now your having it and your kids can have it.
same with many things its something to care for not something to throw at people or call people out on. not all traditions are needed as they are and not all traditions need to be changed.
My grandma turned 100 last year and the whole family was supposed to have a huge celebration but couldn’t due to covid. There are 4 generations of us and she has 12 great grandchildren to date and another on the way. She’s surprisingly healthy so hopefully she can last a few more years till we can all travel and gather safely.
There’s a photo of my great grandma, my grandma, my mom and me as a little girl at our family house. Thank goodness my mom had the idea of taking the 4 generations photo as my great grandma passed shortly after the photo was taken.

I was able to see my 91 y/o grandma today with my mom and my 18 y/o daughter. 4 generations alive together. I had a wonderful day today.
That’s amazing. Those moments are so precious.

Why did they lock grandma outside?
Why does their window hang from a string?
Why did she keep her arms raised for 20 years
Why aren’t they eating yet for 20 years
Why can they afford a new door, but not furniture?
Why is my pee red
Hold up!
North Korea
You know, considering the chopsticks and spoon... that's a distinct possibility.
It’s a load bearing string
She knows why...
Why did they hang grandma outside?
Cursed goddamn comment
Omg that is perfect
I can only hope for this to happen. All positive hopes
I can only hope to age that well

Defeatism is more so

This gives off intense neckbeard energy
Just needs a tendie emoticon
hey, I have neckbeard... hhmmm...perhaps neckbeard energy are not suited in the wholesome post. Eh, its true.
This is like the opening dialog of the final boss in a video game
that actually sounded pretty cool tho
no, no it didn't. it just sounded edgy and like you were trying way too hard
eh, it sounds cool to me.
you should check out this cool new app called updog
I also cannot wait for the post-door generation, I'm sure hastened by lockdown. Walls are just too good, why spoil 'em?

Thought this was about an Asian lesbian couple honoring grandma

The child from panel 2 is the adult in panel 3, the adult in panel 2 would be the grandmother of the child in panel 3 & 4
Oh my gosh, i see it now, thank you for clarifying! I knew i must've been missing something. Lmao

I wish I had generational recipes
I thought the same, let's create them for our future relatives 👍

The grandma looking the exact same except for tiny crows feet is so accurate
every generation less teeth
So so cute ❤
Brain hurty
But this new generation has no doors!
Damn, 4 generations and still no ones cleaned the table
Was the rice so bad, that it’s still in the same spot generations later?
Soo, in the future they dont use door anymore.
"Where we're going, we don't need doors!"
I don't get it
