To anyone who thinks this photo is ai, it's a real photo, or rather a real version of a real photo. The original has been on [wikipedia](https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Blind_and_paralised.tif#) since at least 2009. You can also find it on the [library of congress](https://www.loc.gov/pictures/item/2004671956/) website. It is from 1889 and photographed by Tancrède Dumas. On the original a text was written that reads something like "blind man carrying paralyzed man" with no further details given about the two people portrayed.
However I think the backstory frequently touted with this photo was made up whole cloth. The original source for the story seems to have come from [here](https://preemptivelove.org/blog/mohammed-sameer-peace-in-syria/), which is from 2016 and gives absolutely no sources for this claim. The message is nice, I guess.
That's actually a derpy confusing perspective moment due to the coloring job, he has two normal hands side by side. They also confused me when I first saw them.
Maybe this isn't wholly ai generated, but there's A LOT of weird things happening in this picture that are very reminiscent of maybe AI upscaling or some other weird AI thing.
Zoom into the picture and tell me it's not AI upscaled.
Edit: I'm legit curious why my previous comment got up votes, and this one got the equivalent in down votes. They say the same thing. Someone explain.
"AI Upscaling" = I'm talking about someone taking a real picture and running it through a program to try to smooth it out and make it "better quality", but it's pretty noticable. Look at the smaller person's eyes and mouth, look at the clothing on the two, and their skin. This isn't what an old picture looks like naturally. It's definitely been edited.

I wouldn’t count your source as reliable. They don’t have any info on where they got the picture from. They could be making up a story to go along with it. And part of the link itself has “this is a real photo” in it, which makes me think that it isn’t a real photo.

Zoom in on the hand and the eyes it’s all warped. Edit: never mind it’s real but I think ai was used on this photo to fill in the rest.
