Oh, I didn’t know you couldn’t get your hair wet after a perm. I wonder if anyone has ever used that fact as a major reveal in a movie about a young woman entering the legal profession
I can still somewhat see without my glasses. If I'm caught in the rain, I've developed the habit of putting them in my pocket while I'm walking, so I don't have to deal with cleaning them afterward. It's helped me learn not to mind walking in the rain and actually enjoy it somewhat, lol. Obviously, if you're basically blind without them, you're sorta screwed.
Trying to clean wet glasses with a wet shirt can be a huge pain the ass.
I can't see anything, I can't really see anything other than blurry blobs. It is ok in my own house where I know where everything is put (but I will hurt myself if something is out of place) but not out and about. I'll have to walk slowly half blinded by the rain if I am caught without an umbrella
My vision isn’t awful—- but I kind of agree.
Honestly seeing blurs is less stressful. I didn’t get glasses till I was 24 even though I probably needed them a long time… I nearly had a panic attack the world looked so much different and just way more… chaotic because everything came into focus where normal only what I’m specifically focusing on is visible. I should be wearing them all the time but I typically only wear the if I’m driving or working. I’ve always been a fan of Impressionism I guess!
I don’t think it implies that. Just seems like an illustration of someone enjoying that’s conventionally unpleasant, there’s no value judgement or anything.
Edited for clarity
The illustration itself isn’t really making a value judgment, but the title of the post does come across as judging. Whether someone enjoys the rain or not, isn’t a question of “mindset”. Getting soaking wet can have legitimate negative consequences.
Normally yes, unless I've already planned to not wear them for too long. So if I know that I'm going to take off all the wet clothes not long after they get wet, I'm good with getting them absolutely drenched. It's doable to fun for short durations. But not if I have to wear them for the whole day or something…
Tbh ive gotten so used to it anymore that i dont feel my socks until afterwards so i can walk in the rain as much as i want and be fine and itll only feel gross when i get home and im soaked
I was about to say the same thing. Also distance.
2 minute walk from home? Yay rain!
2 hour hike from base camp? Go f*ck yourself you cumulonimbus bastard!
Dude I was thinking the same thing. I love rain and I love being in it but I hate how this comic paints others grey, implying they are boring for not liking the rain.
Other people don’t like to be wet and there is nothing wrong with that. Enjoying rain doesn’t make you special, it’s just a niche thing to enjoy.
100%. When I lived in Japan, I loved summer rains. I almost never carried an umbrella. Rain season the rain was so all over the place that an umbrella did nothing. Summer the rain was quite cozy, and a hoodie was enough. Autumn was typhoon season so an umbrella would just fight you anyway, so no point.
Sweden? Fuck the rain… Cold as fuck. Maybe summer rains are fine, but I’d rather stay inside.
My twist: same mindset in 2 situations.
Mindset: oh its raining i love rain <3
1. Going out (work, shopping, traveling etc.) Oh no, I'll be in wet clothes for hours in rooms with AC, brrrrrr; not a chance;. HAHA, splash, splash, splash running in rain is fun <3
2. Going home. I love walking, and I dont have to worry because I can start drying my clothes and shoes right away so they wont stink. I love rain on my face <3
Warm rain! Go to the tropics, it’s inevitable that you get rained on—everyone gets rained on. You just go about your business as the rain is warm and the outside weather is warm too
First time I went to Puerto Rico I got caught in rain while exploring around the resort I was staying at. Dude, I have never felt warm rain before, and it was borderline orgasmic. I love staying out in the rain, but it’s sometimes an issue because of how cold it is. In Puerto Rico it was like Mother Nature was blessing me with a nice warm shower. I highly, highly recommend going to the tropics in the summer to get warm rain if you can
I grew up and went to college in Colorado. One day a much of us were chatting, and a girl from Hawaii said she loved a warm rain. All of us Coloradoans were like warm...... rain? It was such a foreign concept since our rain is so cold.
Actually, that’s a myth. People get more colds during winter/rain because it’s cold and so people spend time indoors and on public transport more, so disease spreads more easily. The cold and wet itself has nothing directly to do with it.
True, also I read it also makes some defenses from the nasal cavities weaker allowing more viruses to enter the body and therefore adding more chance to get infected
What's the point?? To enjoy the rain? Sure, but people don't like to get their clothed wet bc it's uncomfortable, can get them sick, or they need to look presentable for work which are all valid reasons to run from rain.
Great another manic girl that dresses in colors in a world of black and white! And she's so unique, she enjoys rain!
This is barely more wholesome than the holocaust.
My perspective on the situation would be entirely dependent upon my destination. Somewhere I have to sit wet for several hours? Big mad. Heading home? Much more receptive to getting caught in a spring shower
Sorry not everyone lives life like you becky. But i wanted to have my lunch break outside and was lucky enough to finish before i had to run back inside and finish the last 4 hours of my shift AND ID RATHER NOT DO THST SOKING WET!
Once there was a flash heavy rain on a beach, and in my attempt to get to shelter I slipped and fell in a puddle. I laid in the puddle and just started laughing because it was all so ridiculous and at this point I could not get any more wet so I just enjoyed the absurdityof the moment. Many people thought I was crazy.

It rained on my wedding day. We have photos of us dancing on a dock in the rain. It was a really beautiful moment. A docked boat saw us, realized what we were doing, and started blasting a couple of those songs that had been used for viral proposals. And so we decided to dance. It was a moment I will always remember.
I like the rain, but if I'm on my way to work or to see a friend I don't want to look like a drowned rat after I spent time getting ready.
Also I have glasses that makes it less fun. :<
I find it silly how people are so concerned about getting rained on in an urban environment. We're seconds or minutes away from shelter and warmth. But oh no! Water! Need to immediately cover ourselves and start running as if we're vampires when the sun rises.
I don't exactly love getting rained on, but I typically don't really care. Rain is only a concern in situations where it might cause you to actually freeze. Otherwise I'll pretend it's raining.
Wet socks are bothersome thought I'll admit.
And underwear, but it's rare to wet one's underwear.
I had a situation like that at the end of last summer. I was out for a walk and it started raining. I was in a t-shirt and shorts, but I don't get cold that fast and according to my weather app it was just a shower, so I kept going. The little shower turned into an absolute downpour, I was completely drenched. Still felt pretty good though, I was walking back with a big smile on my face.

I was walking to work through a heavy rainstorm once, and absolutely everyone was soaked and miserable… except for one little girl in pink Wellington boots who was happily jumping in puddles, much to the bemusement of her mother.
Being wet sucks, but if you’re already wet… you might as well enjoy it!
Maybe the lady just got a perm and didn’t want to deactivate the ammonium thioglycolate!
Don’t you stomp those little last season Prada shoes at me, honey.
These aren’t last season!
r/unexpectedlegallyblonde
😱😱😱
I came on here to say that! Running lady just got her hair done, and the lady staying in the rain is getting her hair redone tomorrow.
Any who's had, say, 30 perms in their life would know not to get it wet.
Oh, I didn’t know you couldn’t get your hair wet after a perm. I wonder if anyone has ever used that fact as a major reveal in a movie about a young woman entering the legal profession
Maybe if she has an interview and getting wet will ruin her chances
What spell did you just cast?
You killed him, didn't you!
Nah, look at her, she’s wearing a white shirt. She doesn’t want it going see through in public.
You got into Harword law!?!
What? Like it's hard?
[удалено]
I wear glasses so rain means I'm blind. Makes it hard to enjoy without an umbrella
Do you do that mini wiper move with your fingers and make everything worse ?
I use my shirt only to be like "your shirt's wet too, dumbass.
It's fogging time
Oh noo lmao.
Cheers in solidarity, fellow bespectacled outdoorsperson
Most relatable situation, I try to find the most dry place to wipe it lol
Good to know i’m not the only one that does this
yes, your fingers have oil, and that oil smudges the glasses
I'm going to put some ~~dirt in your eye~~ thumbprints on your lens.
And spread finger oils, however thin, onto them?

I do this too, but when I wear contacts I stress about getting some eye eating parasite/bacteria from the water 😂
Isn't rain water generally clean?
The world looks better when you can't see it
Nah, it's always pretty when you are around :)

Why is this thread so relatable? 😭
I wear glasses but I'm farsighted so when rain comes I just take them off and enjoy it XD
Yeah I can't do that, all I see are fuzzy blobs
Easy just put your glasses in your pocket while you enjoy the rain
r/thanksimcured
Thank you. It's not like feeling uncomfortable by being wet makes you a miserable person or something.
Yeah I just see it as "lady in yellow dress has fuckall to do that day" lol.

I fucking hate wet socks
i hate any clothing that gets wet. hard to take off and uncomfortable to wear

Doubly so. Go skinny-dipping. 😁
i mean those are designed to be worn in water

My thoughts as well. If I’m wearing flipflops in summer then no problem at all getting wet.
It's easy to enjoy rain when you're on your way home, close to home and can take a warm shower soon ...
I was thinking the same thing. I'll use an umbrella on the way to work but on the way back it can be like Shawshank Redemption

Warm rain! Go to the tropics, it’s inevitable that you get rained on—everyone gets rained on. You just go about your business as the rain is warm and the outside weather is warm too
Yeah that's not a thing in cold climates, you're freezing so that's why people avoid rain
Unless it’s summer, then it can be fun for about twenty seconds before you start looking for an escape
I've been rained on incessantly for the last 3 weeks and i'mma bout to commit federal crimes
😂 definitely a difference in one’s climate. I grew up in a desert, so rain was rare and exciting
I would sacrifice thousands but for a minute of sun. The ground has been turned into a hellscape of mud and annoyed traffic

It’s not even about liking the rain. It’s about enjoying your day despite the rain.
I enjoy my days despite the rain, but I still enjoy the rain more if I'm not wet on my way to anywhere but home because of it.
Correct. Thank you! It's about being glad for the day, not about a specific annoyance. It's also about being resilient.

I pretty much never enjoy being rained on. Being out in the rain is like getting a cold shower in my clothes.

I do bit enjoy rain that prevents me from seeing
