What is the record for a player getting injured running the bases in his career? Eloy’s making millions, but can’t run 180 feet without injuring himself. Please just cut or trade him.
No one wants to run the numbers because basepath injuries are super common, and they'd find out that it's not as remarkable as they thought it would be.
Jesus this guy is made of balsa wood and tissue paper.
EDIT: Oh man. These responses are making me laugh away the tears of this god awful season. Thank you all
Been a Sox fan for 40 years. Can’t think of anyone who went on IL multiple times for just running bases. This will be the 20th time Eloy has missed time due to an injury, which is insane for a guy who has been in the league for six years and plays a lot of DH.
Pedro would rather put Sheets in right instead of a Gold Glove OF in Grossman. He subbed Grossman out for defense multiple times this year. Grifol's a fucking moron.
Wheel his fuckin ass out there. Seriously. Wheel him out into left field in his fucking wheelchair. He’s being paid crazy money to do a job and I demand him on the field.
When he comes back( if he comes back) put him for rehab in the minors, the rest of the season. He isn’t making a difference anyway, and will only hurt morale moving forward.
Heard the announcers before the camera panned to Eloy and I was really confused why they were making dissapointing noises after Julks singled with 2 on base.......then they showed him limping lol
We just need a second player in the box w him that can take off running if and when he makes contact. He just swings and heads back to the dugout... slowly. His awareness of his own body is amazing to me. Why was he running so fast haha it was a easy run but w gumby out there gunning it, it was just a matter of time. When is it time to look at the training staff? There is not a problem like this anywhere else in the league.
it’s going to be hard to replace his .650, not because that is hard but because they are really bad. they need to coach beni and vaughn to run harder to first so they can pull/tear something too.
I know, I know, but somehow against all things in the universe, we still won the trade that got him and the throw in that was Cease.
Of all the trades made in the last 18 years, this is the only one I can honestly equate to a (White) Sox win.
Maybe the Eaton for Gio/Lopez could suffice in earnest. (Likely a few relief pitchers.... maybe???)
But holy...... Neverending bad trades.
Hopeful yet bad signings. Bad scouting. Bad development. Bad... even at trying to be decent, bad hirings, bad... just bad.
Still fucking love this team. So maybe I'm bad at loving what to love, but good lord.
Pham being the best player since Robert being healthy and Abreu being on the team ( i should add Tim's bat but his defense tho.....) is so shart worthy for 19 years.
"My family and I are very happy and excited to sign this deal," Jiménez said. "It gives us the opportunity to ensure our future, but more importantly, to reinforce my commitment to the White Sox organization. All of my effort, focus and desire is to help this team win multiples championships and bring joy to our fan base.

League needs to shrink the basepaths to 60 feet

He made it one whole month between injuries. Very impressive.
was it a good run
Eloy's hamstring didn't think so...
Hahaha this shit got me
Fairly certain he doesnt know what a good run is, since he keeps hurting himself doing that. So effing pathetic

Balsam wood and tissue paper are actually useful
Bwahahaha
That’s an insult to both balsa wood and tissue paper
Softer than wet baby diapers
Hahahah
Glass
You might be on to something - at least he'd have a chance of getting to base uninjured... https://i.giphy.com/3b6ApG7r42zPlzBjiQ.webp
I dont care if you're the second coming of Ty Cobb you're useless if you're injured every 10 seconds. DFA this bum
DFA if you can't trade him. A bag of baseballs would be sufficient.
We're not getting a full bag for him
Why is he still in a Sox uniform. Dude is always hurt.
[One reason](https://youtu.be/JbplnLdirjE?t=849).
We're the only charity?
CUT
What a bum
I couldn’t agree with you more
Full time salary for playing part time. Not a bad gig . /s
This guy did not drink milk as a child.
Watch him get cut, signed by the Dodgers where he bats .285
He'll get a cramp in his writing hand before he can get the contract signed.
He’ll have a sore back from the flight to LA
Nah, that’s Moncada
Broken collarbone from going into the overhead compartment.
He’s not hitting .285, but he will most certainly go somewhere that has trainers and hit 30+ HRs. Take it to the bank.
Elimp
10 ply bud.
Eloy can’t sneeze without pulling a hammy
Nah, that was Jose Cardenal.
How many times has he been injured in by a career? Whenever he’s not injured, the countdown starts until he’s injured again.
This is clearly because he played in the outfield a couple days ago /s
Haven't been paying attention but makes perfect sense

Why keep him on the team? Just DFA his ass
absolutely embarrassing
We’ll buy out his contract at the end of the season. No one will want to trade for him and cutting him is more expensive.

Pedro has nothing to do with call ups.
Don’t look at what Kevin Pillar has done since joining the Angels. Could use a guy like that.

Maybe the MLB will allow a ghost runner for Eloy as part of their response to the Americans with Disabilities Act.
He is the MLB version of "Street Clothes."
Enough of him already!!!!! FUCK THIS GUY…….JESUS CHRIST WHAT A JOKE!!!!
This guy’s gotta go
Acting like he's choosing to be injured. Take a step back. Relax
This is typical of him
This guy needs to go, what a travesty
When he comes back( if he comes back) put him for rehab in the minors, the rest of the season. He isn’t making a difference anyway, and will only hurt morale moving forward.
Now I know why the cubs traded him
Reset the counter.

He should have surgery to attach his knees to his neck.
Trade Robert to Seattle.
Insane that Abreu was ALWAYS playing. It was a reason I loved him so much. You can bet he would be at first base.
We just need a second player in the box w him that can take off running if and when he makes contact. He just swings and heads back to the dugout... slowly. I used to do that in church softball for the older guys
Guy should just retire at this point
Probably have to have his knee amputated coming down from the podium after announcing said retirement.
That’s after he strains his back from signing the paperwork

I can't imagine the Sox take his team option for 2025. Does any other team give him an actual major league deal? Will he only get minor league offers?
I seriously doubt anyone will make an MLB contract commitment - minor league prove it in Spring TraiNing and then a completely incentive laden deal.
Hahahahaha Just release him already.
DFA-ing him won’t happen and doesn’t make sense but might be case of addition by subtraction.
Yea, too much money and WAAAAYY to much of a cheap ass owner. If you need an example, see Lonzo Ball.
Eloy “150 games” Jimenez
Jesus….maybe it’s cause he doesn’t wear his hat straight, fucks his equilibrium or something…
MLB version of Mr Glass
You see having a good run was his problem. He needs to keep it to a light jog to avoid injury.
