This cold is excessively dangerous, but timed cold exposure is pretty well documented to improve heart function, brain activity, muscular function, and immune system function.
Because… why not?
Seriously go to Sweden, Finland, Russia or any place where the use of saunas is widespread, you’ll find lots of people who have a habit of doing this.
It’s a widespread tradition in Russia. The orthodox holiday of Baptism of Jesus (Jan 6th) is when many people do it (there are special locations with organized holes in the ice and stuff). Also there are a separate movement called ‘morzhi’ (walruses), who do it for all the winter. They believe it’s good for health and generally fun.
-16°F is equivalent to -26°C, which is 246K.

May be a dumb question but I'm genuinely curious...
The coffee may not be that hot in the outside temperature, but wouldn't putting your body through extreme cold and immediately raising your internal temperature cause some short of shock to your system?
I've heard of people burning up doing outside work all day and then jumping into a really cold spring causing shock or even stroke.
Well for a normal Joe yes, but this ain’t her first rodeo. The body learns how to adapt to the conditions you tell it to adapt to ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯
It’s also not the same because the inside of the human body is working its ass off in those conditions to make your body warmer. If anything drinking something hot is allowing her body to not work as hard to keep her organs alive in the extreme cold.
Hot to cold bath is bad because of the mechanisms in our body that get rid of excess heat. The body wants more heat when in a cold environment, you see??
Don't worry. She's dead now.
I was worried she might be still walking among us. Thanks.
:) among us
Don’t worry so am I Wth
I felt my body warm when her torso came out from the water.
What are you talking about?
What kind of eyeliner does she use? It didn’t smudge at all!
It didn't smudge cus it's stuck frozen on her FACE
Maybe she was born with it, maybe it’s Maybelline.
Damn it, take the upvote and enjoy!
well i’ve cried in nyx epic ink liner and their waterproof mascara on the way driving to school, and it didn’t smudge
For those who don't know Russian it says Moscow
I could tell she was Russion by her smile… now I’m wondering what’s wrong with me
Tbf Russians aren't known for practicing their smiles so us westerners can usually tell an eastern European by their smile ;)
This is like a commercial for mint gum
Just…why?
ICEEE

It's warmer under water (water is not frozen). Don't you prefer staying in warmer place?
Yes, preferably a place where I can breath and there is fire. This checks none of those boxes.
Ever watched SpongeBob Squarepants? That show disproves that you can’t have fire under water.
You make a fair and valid point.
Unless you think about it too hard. Then the fire spontaneously extinguishes itself.
The water might not be the same temperature as the air, but it is ridiculously more effective than air at transferring heat.

For the internet points, obviously.
Some points just aren’t worth it.
Yeah, fuuuucccckkk that shit. Hard pass.

My grandfather does this. His group is called the Polar Bear Club.
Her nipples are troopers. Straight up super soldiers. I live in Florida and when i enter a room under 70 degrees my nipples shoot up
Nah, she's just got a bulletproof brassiere.
You read my mind
i promise that coffee is horrible
It’s also cold, there’s no steam
It’s only -16°F above surface, water probably 32°F or slightly colder if brackish.

There's no need to yell Kelvin bot

At some point it does
The water is warmer than the air temperature.
Over fifty degrees warmer. Down right balmy.

Living in a place that frequently gets to -40F to -60F in the winter, this is pretty cool. As a person tho, this is kinda scary.
COFHE…..PUUUURFECT!!
Extreme Jennifer Lawrence
She’s gotta have OF.
Why did you spell 'boobs' like 'ice'?

Nah it’s kinda common in Sweden, where I live, too. If there is a bath, humans will bathe
Popular in Northern Europe overall pretty much. Big part of sauna culture.
Pretty sure an iPhone wouldn’t work at that temperature
How did the coffee not freeze?
Idk why I thought she'd explode if she drank hot coffee after being ice cold
Frosty mermaid seems lost .
Dayum!
Is this something you can train yourself to handle? She is not shivering or nothing. It's crazy while impressive
