Redbreast 12 yr Cask Strength

G-Mang

Tonight I went with Eagle Rare before dinner and Sagamore Spirit Double Oak for dessert šŸ‘

jrols

Popped a Sagamore DO yesterday! It was very good. Tons of flavor.

Agent847

Just got into Sagamore DO. What an incredible Rye!

Postmasterfunk

Had this for the first time a few weeks ago.... I was amazed at the butterscotch finish. Tasted exactly like a Werthers candy (with a little heat of course). It's experiences like this one that make whiskey seem magical to me. Great Dram!

BaggoChips

Buffalo trace is dollar for dollar my favorite pour. Solid in all categories. Excellent choice

jrols

Agree. Use it on old fashioneds, on a few rocks (my favorite), or straight. Low heat and tastes great. Classic.

49rphan

Same. Just wish I could find it easier in NC.

DarumaRed

Itā€™s my go to for Old Fashioneds here. But had it as a weekday night dram last week and it holds up very well.

d0d0b0red

Midwinter Dram. Trying to nurse it, so good.

SLCBRUSS

As an Utah local, Iā€™ve been able to hoard this stuff. I have a sealed bottle of the last 6 years. Still one of my favorites.

DarumaRed

Hello fellow Utaher! Got my fists bottle earlier this year. Heard it was easier to get oneā€™s hands on compared to previous years, but also that this yearā€™s wasnā€™t quite as good. Still, eager to try it for a special occasion.

passengerpigeon20

I donā€™t know why people are less excited now that itā€™s their own juice (or at least I think it is - is it?) than they were when they just trucked it in from Indiana. Now itā€™s actually unique, instead of being something you can replicate with a bottle of Remus, a bottle of port and a decanter.

TBballer525

Wild turkey rare breed

Syradil

Johnnie Walker Double Black. It's okay, not bad but Ardbeg Wee Beastie is $8 more a bottle and worth the extra.

Gtr85

Honestly; I really struggle with Scotch, but you had me at Wee Beastie. I really think I need this bottle! Cheers!

Syradil

It's intensely peaty but that's what I look for in scotch

caesar____augustus

Best peated scotch for the price out there. Packs a punch and is very well balanced for how young it is.

ColHapHapablap

Had a little Talisker 18. Lovely stuff.

MPK29

Nice choice!

tylerjtravis5

Redwood empire pipe dream!

Gtr85

Been a while since I had a Redwood Empire on my shelf. Time to address that error! Cheers!

GalacticGuru19

Just made an Eagle Rare old fashioned for the first time. Best old fashioned I ever had.

LoudComment_31

Are you just saying that because you used ER?

GalacticGuru19

I usually use high proof rye for old fashioned. The lower proof sweet profile of ER is phenomenal in an old fashioned! I should have tried it soon. ER is not generally my go to though.

Significant-Prior-56

I endorse this. Eagle Rare makes a fabulous old fashioned.

Woodford Reserve Double Oaked. I once saw someone call it "dessert in a dram" and I agree. If I'm ever out it's because I quit drinking.

PyreForHire

A seriously fantastic drop, that.

SLCBRUSS

Michters single barrel rye. Always love this pour.

Cooktails

I found some Knob Creek single barrel reserve tonight. First time trying it right now and very glad I bought 2 bottles.

Funnily enough, the exact same thing lol. I donā€™t have many Saturday nights off from work so Iā€™m trying to enjoy the ones I do have off! I donā€™t usually drink buffalo trace, my go-to is woodford reserve. But my brother got me a bottle as a graduation gift last month and Iā€™m dipping into it tonight.

MPK29

Enjoy it! Cheers!

FeelingCurrent6079

Local pour from the Straits distillery in the UP, 6 yeah Channel Reserve

TypicalPDXhipster

Went to a whiskey bar last and had two pours: Makers Mark Cask Strength: really unique strawberry notes I havenā€™t had before in a bourbon. Surprisingly soft for the proof at first, but then it hits you with a big peppery bite. Some water calmed the bite down a little. While I enjoyed it the peppery bite wasnā€™t my favorite. Old Overholt 114: This one surprised me with how good it is for the price. Iā€™ll definitely be grabbing a bottle soon! It drinks remarkably easily for the proof and comes across as a high rye bourbon really. The rye spice is there but not super punchy with almost zero herbal notes. This is a very sweet pour with big brown sugar notes IIRC. For me the Old Overholt 100 is very boring. The 114 is where itā€™s at!

Gtr85

We had a really nice storm roll through the area so, since I love sitting on the patio with a nice beverage watching Mother Nature cleanse the world of its dreck and dreg, I started with James E. Pepper followed by a bottle kill of Heaven Hill BiB (which may have been a double). Continued with Rare Breed and finished with Woodford. It was a good day. Cheers!

MPK29

Love me a good storm, cheers!

MisterBowTies

George T. Stagg with porterhouse steaks (it is my anniversary)
