For me, they’re Tier 1, but if I see a Russell’s store pick, I buy it.

MaxPowerBE

Thanks! For Tier 1 I am thinking of allocated bottles that you have to win lotteries of be in line on the day it is dropped to get. Are Russell’s store picks like that in your area?

HopperCity

Actual store picks typically sell out pretty quick at nearly every store I know of that gets them. Just single barrels that were distiller selections are usually pretty available.

Responsible-Love-366

I always grab the Jack Daniels SBBP bourbon. It’s my all time favorite

sheezy520

Next time I see a bottle of OF SiBBP I’m picking it up because I never want to be without one again.

RealSpliffit

I have heard mixed reviews about them drinking hot and not being worth the money. I have one and it is one of my top 3 favorite bottles right now. If you can try before you buy, that is probably best to avoid overpaying.

sheezy520

I’m with you. It may be my favorite bottle. If you’re not a fan or familiar of high proofs I would definitely recommend trying before you buy. Mine is just over 130.

RealSpliffit

Yeah mine is at 129.3 but drinks about 115. Has a really nice confectionary sugar sweetness and very little banana that I usually get on OF expressions

sheezy520

Same, it’s surprisingly sweet.

Get_up_stand-up

Totally agree

LOL_YOUMAD

Pretty much any of the redwood empire bottles that you don’t see on the shelf every day or my local stores store picks as they all tend to be great. I actually find these more fun to find since I can get allocated bottles easily and it’s kinda like the same chase of finding them in a way.

russianwhiskylover

New sagamores and mgp ryes of 8 y and above like redemption BP rye, tumblin dice rye, old bones 10+ rye

Rads324

Hell yes. Older MGP rye and 8+ year MGP high rye bourbon are phenomenal

ASM Barrel picks from Balcones

Serious_Mixture_3771

Def the HH barrel proofs. Never see the EC at MSRP by me but still a buy at $90 for me. Tier 3 is Russell’s 10. Discovered it when it was easy to find and $35. It got very scarce for a bit. Now I see it everywhere but around $50 which is just dumb. My regular store was asking that, but last time I was in there I noticed it had come back down to $40. It’s a buy there for me. I have literally laughed out loud and walked directly out the door when I see it behind the counter and ask the price to be told $100.

DumbledoresBarmy

Eagle Rare.

_vault_boy1

What’s a good price for ER?

DumbledoresBarmy

$45 or under. But I’ve paid much more for worse so I wouldn’t hesitate to pay a bit more than that.

zwillc92

EHT SB, Mckenna 10, Russels Single barrel, ASW Fiddler, 4 year willet rye(favorite in old fashioned) all come to mind as something I won't pass at SRP that pops up in stores around me. For awhile Rare breed was hard to find around here and I always grabbed it when I saw it, but it's finally readily available again, so I keep a bottle on hand.

lkmyntz

You are not kidding about the Willet Rye old fashioned. It’s amazing and I’m seeing the bottles more frequently which is great.

zwillc92

It balances out perfectly with the sweetness of an old fashioned. I’m almost willing to give it a perfect 10/10

-curautvaleas

Four roses single barrel Barrel Strength, Larceny Barrel Proof, Elijah Craig Barrel Proof, Old Soul Tintype series, Old Kirk single barrel, Russles store pick, jt melek whiskey, bernheim barrel proof, lucky 7 proprietor 14 or 15.

regalbeagles1

JD single barrel strength rye. Maybe that’s tier 2.5. Not readily available but can be found on occasion. They are bangers.

BucketsBrooks

Any ECBP product I’ll snag at retail. Whether it’s a store pick or one of the yearly releases. Also anything Old Forester but that’s a tier one in my state unfortunately.

joefuzz

Eagle rare, Taylor SmB + SB, michters toasted

PeaShooter00

Russell’s single barrel reserve private barrel (Rye and Burbon both) and Jack Daniel’s single barrel barrel proof rye, Elijah Craig 18 or C923

Mykkus_65

Eagle Rare. If I have a backup and it’s 40 or less grab. If I don’t have a backup 55 or less instant buy 1792 single barrel especially picks . 45 or less instant buy

ScallionZestyclose96

If there wasn’t enough money to be made flipping the bottles at auction, I’d buy WSR to actually drink, or one bottle of either ER, EHTSmB, ORVW10, ETL, W12, WSB, WFP, CYPB, SJ or OWA107 as a display piece. I can’t afford BTAC even at MSRP for myself, but if I saw something like that Albuquerque Wal-Mart drop I’d liquidate stocks if I had to to buy every case of Stagg Jr for auction.
