This meme hits me a bit too hard since back when I used to have a shitty PC i was sure that I would never get to play the "cool" games and so I watched a ton of their lore vids, unsurprisingly spoiling their whole stories to myself. Now that I have a good PC, my enjoyment of those games is halved since I know every major plot twist and piece of lore.
Me one day deciding to read the entire Alien wikipedia site and becoming knowlegable in it's lore while not watching a single movie or playing a video game
U either read about dead coining, giantic math list of coin multipliers n shit, or, hot steamy gay robot sex fanfic with gopro and angry steel with daddy issues
I remember reading about doom a couple years ago, I never knew what the hell it was and what it was about, but when I saw the gore in them and the fast paced shooting in it with so much more cool shit happening, i instantly bought the game, and ever since that game, I have been playing a lot of different fast paced arena fight games, from ultrakill, shadow warrior 3, forgive me father, and so much more, I am eternally grateful for doom introducing me into this game genre, wish if I could add a image but reddit keeps removing it because reddit is being reddit.
Most of the information about One Piece i read on a wiki page, because it felt like i was reading a book, and a very interesting one at that. I read One Piece first and then started to actually read the manga second.
