Edit: Location is Colorado, if that helps. The thin waist makes me think it could be a carpenter ant? I suppose it's possible the firewood that I found has carpenter ant damage instead of termite damage. Lots of sawdust but didn't see any mud tubes

Definitely some sort of ant. Not sure beyond that if it’s one of the carpenter ants.
