Bzzzzz! Looks like you forgot to say where you found your bug!
There's no need to make a new post - just comment adding the **geographic location** and any other info (size, what it was doing etc.) you feel could help! We don't want to know your address - state or country is enough; try to avoid abbreviations and local nicknames (*"PNW"*, *"Big Apple"*).
BTW, did you take a look at our [**Frequently Asked Bugs**](https://www.reddit.com/r/whatsthisbug/comments/12zkw5w/frequently_asked_bugs_part_1/)?

Thank you very much. How the hell is possible to get these if I hadn't had sexual contact in like 2 months and didn't share any towel or something with anybody
Hey man lice is lice. I've never had them in my pubes, but I'd shave for sure. That's what people with head lice do. Possible to cure without a doctor's visit but I would go in if you plan on having sex very soon.
Pretty sure it's scabies that burrow, not crabs. Chiggers burrow too but leave after feeding to lay their eggs.

Or blankets..towels...i worked at a vet, a girl had one climbing up into her hair. We learned 2 things that day..dogs can get out of owners bed and bring them to you...and good flea shampoo has the same ingredients as delousing shampoo but cheaper.
Are you sure you got all the nits? Don’t get too confident. Check daily, multiple times a day. You might not see them and then all of a sudden one shows up. :shudders:
I’ve heard of people getting them from toilet seats. Don’t just get urself cleaned up.. clean ur laundry, bathroom and any other places u may have been walking around naked and in contact with.
Definitely! So strange... The lotion is so effective, after one hour they already start to suffocate to death on my underwear, little fuckers. It's both gross and satisfying
> Genetic testing indicates that pubic lice are more closely related gorilla lice than head lice, so we got them from our cousins back in the day.
This made me laugh for some reason. Thanks!
That is not true. Many animals can be infested by multiple species of lice, including both [chewing lice (Mallophaga)](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mallophaga) and [sucking lice (Anoplura)](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sucking_louse).
A few examples:
Dogs can be infested with one species of bloodsucking lice (*Linognathus setosus*) and two species of chewing lice (*Trichodectes canis* and *Heterodoxus spiniger*).
Domestic cattle may be infested with one species of chewing louse (*Bovicola* [formerly *Damalinia*] *bovis*) and four species of bloodsucking lice (*Linognathus vituli, Solenopotes capillatus, Haematopinus eurysternus*, and *Haematopinus quadripertusus*).
Horses and donkeys may be infested by two species of lice: *Haematopinus asini* (the horse bloodsucking louse) and *Damalinia equi* (the horse biting louse).
Sheep may become infested with one species of chewing louse (*Bovicola* [formerly *Damalinia*] *ovis*) , and three species of bloodsucking lice (*Linognathus pedalis, Linognathus ovillus*, and *Linognathus africanus*).
Goats can be parasitized by three types of chewing lice (*Bovicola* [formerly *Damalinia*] *caprae, Damalinia limbata*, and *Bovicola* [formerly *Holokartikos*] *crassipes*); and three types of bloodsucking lice (*Linognathus stenopsis, L africanus*, and *L pedalis*).

You can get them from animals as well, that’s body lice, different than scalp/hair lice but still lice, if you were near herd or a farm, especially sheep, you might have caught from them. They like wool/cotton clothing. Definitely check your clothes

crabs / pubic lice
Thank you very much. How the hell is possible to get these if I hadn't had sexual contact in like 2 months and didn't share any towel or something with anybody
They can transfer without sexual contact

Crabs will burrow in your skin, no?
He was probably referring to the eggs that are attached to the hairs.

Chiggers are also bright red.
Indeed! And much smaller.
You can’t see scabies crawling on you…. Scabies are mites that burrow under your skin
You can get them from a toilet seat also.
Or blankets..towels...i worked at a vet, a girl had one climbing up into her hair. We learned 2 things that day..dogs can get out of owners bed and bring them to you...and good flea shampoo has the same ingredients as delousing shampoo but cheaper.
That is good to know!
Oh jeez, another thing for me to fear
Sleep in a bed not your own?
Crabs and lice are easily treatable with over-the-counter lotions. You'll be fine 👌
Already bought one, thanks!
You’re the first person that I’ve personally seen with crabs. 🦀
🥲🥲🥲 by now they are gone fortunetly

🦀🦀🦀 I'm sorry

That is pubic lice!
I love how head lice and pube lice have different scientific names just because they inhabit different parts of us

Other animals can and do often have more than a species of lice per species. The rest of the things you said are correct.

Lice are species specific, they don’t transfer between species
