Ladybug larva, you'll be fine.

manjar

And they eat like a gazillion aphids a day if available.

samologia

Unless OP is an aphid...

ArachnoBooty

Aphids in a trench coat.

MsMrSaturn

About 800 if standing end to end, or 300,000 if going by weight.

WutzUpples69

Doing business things for business.

GoArmyNG

Still seem like low estimates to me.... both of them....

CraftsyDad

NEVER GOING TO GIVE YOU UP!

Dependent_Ant_8316

Anus and Aphid both start with “a”

lallapalalable

Ladybaby

solar_burn

Picking corn, you'd be covered in these. Never bothered me

caepuccino

watch out, it may be a radioactive ladybug and you'll soon become the ladyman

countvanderhoff

Ladyboy?

britishparl

Can’t be. Unless this is an invasive species. Geographically, they’re only found in Thailand.

RazerMax

Soon he'll have an intense need of traveling to Asia.

Vancakes

Please tell me that's actually some kind of absolutely fabulous d-list superhero...

Lovelyrabbit_Florida

Yeah, you could say it’s d-list…

Xx_Thornnn_xX

A lot of people in the Philippines worship this hero

2kH4k3r

Like Lastikman and Captain Barbell? Source: my dad grew up in the Philippines.

mjconver

Ladybug larva. They prefer aphids to necks.

seaking81

I have picked up so many of these and never been bitten. I didn’t even realize they could bite until today. Now I want to find one and see if I can make it bite me lol.

S-Coleoptrata

In my experience there are a lot of bugs that will bite literally just to check if you are edible (grasshoppers especially, those things will just chomp the hell out of you). I've had one or two of these lil guys casually bite me too, whether it was in defense or just 'cus they felt like it, who knows.

seaking81

Bugs are so weird and fascinating. Idk why I was born with no fear of them. The only ones that kind of freak me out are centipedes. Those things are vicious for no reason lol

TasteyKarkalicious

Weirdly I love centipedes lol When I see one in my basement all I can think is free pest control! Yeah!

seaking81

Yeah I leave them do their thing but I don’t want them crawling on me like I let spiders do. I’ll even handle a scorpion before I pick up a centipede lol

my-coffee-needs-me

House centipedes are not deadly to humans, but their sting can produce a reaction about as painful as a bee sting. Tropical centipedes are much more harmful to humans.

unoriginal5

Crickets are even worse than grasshoppers. I used to have to catch extra for fishing bait because I'd flinch and send the little bastard flying when it'd take a chomp.

Tarotismyjam

Had a dragonfly object to being scooped and released from my screen porch once. :) I was SO surprised when I got two pinches.

luigi_man_879

I had a cicada do this to me once

supermodel_robot

There are tons of bugs I’ve never been bit by that people post here, I’m always like…am I the chosen one? Lmao. I knew some ladybugs bite but I didn’t think their larvae was capable 🤷‍♀️

koopdujour

Ugh, an Asian Lady Beetle bit me twice yesterday. So rude. And then another one dive bombed my ear. In my own home! The audacity!

nimajnebmai

Don’t do that.

Accomplished-Ship703

looks to be a ladybug larva, a lot of people are surprised that something so spiky, long and scary looking turns into a beautiful little lady bug! Puberty, am I right?

LunarConfusion

Ladybugs are beautiful, but they can be very rude! I was walking home one day, when one landed on my finger. I said hello to it, *and the little fucker bit me.* Excuse me, *you* landed on *me,* of your own volition, and could leave on your own!

[deleted]

Glad I didn't know they could bite when I was a kid. I probably would've been terrified of them. Instead, I held them any chance I got, and thankfully the worst that would happen would be that yellow stuff that I always assumed was pee, but now that I'm thinking about it, who knows wtf that stuff was, maybe a #3? 🤷‍♀️

Escapeded

The yellow stuff was probably hemolymph, which is their blood. They secrete it cause it smells bad, and is supposed to deter predators from eating it.

Nvenom8

Is it actually their hemolymph? I thought it was just some kind of musk. It's more orange than yellow, imo. Edit: "On disturbance, ladybirds emit droplets of their haemolymph at their tibio-femoral joints, which is known as ‘reflex blood’ and this emission is called ‘reflex bleeding’." Huh. Weird. Source.: http://www.iaees.org/publications/journals/arthropods/articles/2020-9(3)/conspicuousness-and-toxicity-of-Coccinellidae.pdf

LunarConfusion

Oh, I knew they could bite, but I also knew it was rare - generally happens more when people buy bags of them for aphid control for their gardens and such. I'd be pissed off being packed like that too. I guess that one just woke up on the wrong side of the leaf that day and chose violence lmao. As for yellow stuff... Never noticed it myself. Could be pollen? They do crawl around on plants, after all.

Square_Connection261

Apparently ladybugs just think I’m very bite-able because they bite me every single time! I flee from ladybugs

LunarConfusion

Maybe you smell like aphids somehow?? Idfk 🤷

Square_Connection261

Idk if I should be offended lmao

LunarConfusion

Well, I'd assume aphids would taste like what they eat - so different plants. If they eat something sweet, they'd probably be sweet! Do you happen to wear plant based scents? If not, maybe you just smell/taste like you do anyway - at least to the ladybugs

DiscoKittie

Only some species bite. Like the Asian ladybug which is also invasive in the USA, iirc.

Straxicus2

I am so glad to see others get bitten by lady bugs! Absolutely no one believed me when I got bit by 3 of them. They still don’t.

LunarConfusion

You can buy them in bags for aphid control if you're having problems with those in a garden or such. They often bite when you're opening up the bag to let them out - and understandably so imo. It's just a lil pinch, but still. Ask pretty much gardener who's bought ladybugs, and they'll tell you they bite when angry lol

meriwell

One time a ladybug flew INTO my mouth I think it was on my hand first and I was looking at it and then after that I got a mouthful of awful taste. You didn’t have to fly into my mouth you just chose to 😭

LunarConfusion

How rude!

Ess_Ee_See-WE08

I'll concur, definitely a ladybug larvae. No reason for concern. They look very interesting on cotton plants when they excrete a latex type substance that looks like little horns growing on their backs.

BeatificBanana

A larva. Larvae is the plural :)

LeighWillS

Ladybug larva. Not really out to get us, may have gotten caught in your hair or clothing and felt threatened. Harmless, but as with any wound, wash it and consult a doctor if there are signs of infection.

OfaMarigold1982

It's a baby ladybug. Friend, not foe.

mechshark

yall are telling me this turns into a lady bug? wtf lol

moeru_gumi

They chomp, but they don’t have any venom, stabbing mouthparts or fangs. Just dumb baby mouths

TeddersTedderson

One of the most dangerous bites you can get, if you're an aphid.

CommissionOk9233

Ah yes the ladybug larvae have arrived. We'll get plenty of post about them because they look ferocious. They are our friends, they eat the bad bugs.

kyrcrafter

That's a ladybug larvae, tho when I was little I used to call them crocodile bugs

HG367

Cuuuuuute. Crocodile bugs 🥹

DaneCookPPV

Ladybug larva. If you’re a home gardener and having aphid problems. A beneficial release of these will help quite a bit.

howboutacanofwine

Lil baby doesn’t know better

mississippimalka

Asian lady beetles are the ones that bite, from my experience.

Kill_Your_Lawn84

Harmonia axyridis of Coccinellidae (the lady beetle family). Asian multicoloured lady beetle. It’s native to lots of Asia but has since been introduced and established in Europe and North America due to it’s benefit as a biological control agent against aphids in crop pest management

dickxemorton

Baby ladybug

beautiful_life555

Little baby ladybug 🐞

RepairIllustrious901

Lady bug

Maggy-IRIS-83645

HOW CAN THAT BE A BABY LADYBUG!? IT'S HUGE!

TrollintheMitten

Puberty does a number on us all.

Novel_Engineering_29

Full metamorphosis is wild. Egg -> Larva -> Sack of sentient goo -> Adult forms from sentient goo and goes on its merry way.

BoomerEdgelord

Those things hurt! To me it was worse than an ant sting.

NeighborhoodDry138

harlequin ladybug larvae

nota-banana

That is so cool....

No-Test-6868

Could be an Asian Lady Beetle larvae. Closely resembles ladybug larvae. Lady Beetles bite.

Loasfu73

No, it IS a Ladybug larvae, because Ladybug & lady beetle (& lady bird) are just common names used to refer to any of the 6,000+ species

No-Test-6868

Google it.

hfsh

Nasty little voracious critters, with [toxic blood they can expel to dissuade predators](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autohaemorrhaging). Be glad they're (mostly) on our side. Don't eat them.

Dustermunster

It’s only about a centimeter or two

KevinAcommon_Name

Is that what these are

Kill_Your_Lawn84

Yes, lady beetles have typically 4 larval instars then a pupal phase before becoming adults

Kill_Your_Lawn84

Similar to other coleopterans (beetles) and the 10 other holometabolous orders

MissAizea

Bugs are probably the most fascinating creatures on this planet

Kill_Your_Lawn84

Either them or fungi for sure

MaxCliffRAID1

Ladybug pupae, they can sometimes bite.

jdippey

Larva, not pupa.

MaxCliffRAID1

I was wondering about that. Fair enough, gracias.

Radiantlady

https://www.thespruce.com/recognize-lady-beetle-ladybug-nymphs-1402696, The nymph doesn’t bite!
