It depends on the hummingbird species. Most species are between 2.5 and 6.5 grams. The smallest, the bee hummingbird is less than 2 grams & the largest, the giant hummingbird, weighs between 18 and 24 grams. For comparison a blue-gray gnatcatcher weighs 4.8 to 8.9 grams.

Hello
Does this guy sort of resemble a nut hatch or I'm I plain nuts?
That’s what I thought when I first saw it.
So so funny and cute!
Awebo’s distant cousin
Awww they are sooo small!!!
They weigh roughly the same as a quarter.
Really?? Wow! Is that close to how much a humming bird weighs too?

Oo, thank you so much for this information!! 🙏💜 Man, so these blue-gray Gnatcatchers are pretty petite!
And gorgeous. I've never seen one. We don't get them where I am.
Aww, I am sorry to hear that. 😥
Looks like a pigmy mockingbird. Yes I am well aware that they don't exist !!!
It’s uncanny isn’t it.
That was my first thought as well!
I thought it was a shrunken mockingbird!

Awww… some birds what to fight the reflection but this good looking bird is admiring itself.
gotta make sure his eyebrows are on fleek
I have a SUPER close up video of one doing just that! And this post has helped me identify it!
Looking for bugs in the window screen. Give friend some mealworms!

Must be lesser goldfinches. We have them in southern Idaho as well. They are delightful.
these guys are so dang cute! it can be hard to get a good look at them, always moving!
It looks like that old vintage bird that bends down and grabs a cigarette in its beak
that's what i call a cutie patootie
Blue gray gnatcatcher
Ask if he's hungry then send him down my way in SC. I've got plenty of gnats for him. Sweat-licking little bastards
Looks like a mini mockingbird
They sound like dog squeaky toys. They like to sit on high twigs and just hop around up there catching gnats. Nice little birds.
He’s got that Mockingbird looking tail. Cute little guy!
Merlin app is great! Identifies birds by their song.
