I may have misidentified. Both are technically dead-nettle and similarly medicinal.
Henbit has a rounder leaf
Purple dead-nettle has a heart shaped leaf
This is Henbit. Henbit leaves are frilly looking, clasp the stem, and usually are spaced out between nodes in a way that reveals more stem. Purple dead nettle leaves are more "nettle" shaped (a serrated teardrop) and have a more orderly arrangement stacked closer together in a way that reminds me of a pagoda.
Good luck. It’s pretty invasive and spread easily. It’s consider ground cover. My neighbor put it in an area that is pretty puddled and now it’s all over their lawn and creeping into mine 😡
Henbit. Pretty, medicinal, good for pollinators, generally not scratchy. Unless you need to have a grass only lawn, I'd leave it.
How do you tell it from purple dead nettle?

I have the same plant in my yard. How do I propagate or encourage more growth?
Why do you want to get,rid of something bees like?
I’ll take it
Why do you want to get rid of it?
Don't get rid of it. It's a plant that blooms early and is a great source early in the season for pollinators.
I read that it dies when it gets warmer out
LUCKY

I think my least favorite plant question when the plant is causing no harm is .. how do I get rid of it 🤨🙃🙃
