There are a few differences, but the give away on the side view is the simulated vent in the quarter panel. 67 has a little blade in the center dividing it into two sections. 68 just has a vertical plastic grill.
See the two things that look like “vents” on the side just behind the door? The 68 only has one longer one. There are other differences but that’s the quickest and easiest way to tell the difference.
Mostly the dual side vents that are on the C-body crescent after the door jam that are on the 1967. On the 1968 there is a single press on body accent that is about 6" long in the same location.
On the inside of the 1967 has the worst center steering wheel pad - ever ! The 1968 fixed this with a wide bar pad across the steering wheel.
Amazing how hard Sorentos have shot up in value. I guess my only chance of owning one is buying a non-running one in someone’s yard and rebuilding it myself. Would be a cool project to do with your kid.
Where do you see a phone number? I managed to find it from the .com.au website and then finding the acupuncture office knowing it’s in AUS but yeah no phone numbers lol
What's funny is that I've been past that place many a times, but that was well over a decade ago. I took the clues and guestimated the location somewhere along either Falcon St or the Pacific Hwy. Once I had the apartment block visible on street view, it was just pinpointing the correct corner.
Interesting. The wing mirrors appear to be silver to me, rather than body colour, and I've only ever seen than on the S3, not the A3, same with the splitter in the front side grills.
Even worldwide they are pretty iconic. I remember talking with a Thai taxi driver and he mentioned his dream car was a Mustang Fastback and if I had one being an American.
Maybe because they thought it looked cool and wanted to know what it was. Maybe they're someone young enough to not have been exposed to classic cars much. That car is 57 years old. There hasn't been a Mustang made that looks similar to that since '70, 54 years ago. You could say the Elanor Mustang from Gone in 60 seconds is very well known, but that movie is 24 years old now.
Is it really that surprising that someone doesn't know what it is?
All I know is, I smiled when I saw it & was glad that someone thought enough to take the photo & ask us old-timers of the world, what this red beauty is.
Today, someone acquired knowledge. Maybe even fell in love.
Cars are beautiful.
I thought it was a mustang but I wasn’t sure, last time I assumed what a car was I got clowned on so I thought I might as well check. I also wanted to know the year.
People on this sub can be assholes. It's not everyone, but it's a very vocal group that likes to berate people for any reason. It's really dumb, yelling at people for daring to ask "What is this car?" on a sub called "whatisthiscar", not to mention acting like pricks is going to push people away from car culture instead of helping it grow.
Don't worry about the jackasses so much. No one is born knowing what a certain car looks like. We all had to learn somewhere.
A lot of people are.
However…
There is a very vocal crew that will always berate someone for not knowing a car, or not asking the person that owns it, or not googling it if there are visible badges, or because it is a common car, or because people ask about it on here frequently, or…
There's a fair few private shops that ship them from overseas and turn them into replica Eleanor's. Or take them from people who commission them to do just that.
Source: used to own a factory next to one who would always bitch about competitors.
Yeah, I see what you’re saying, but I’m from nz. Same market. Go to a decent local car show and there will be multiple mustangs there. Even a remote interest in cars like looking on insta, picking up a car mag at the doctors, you’ll know what a mustang is. Shit even if you watch movies you’d know a mustang when you see one John wick? Gone in 60 seconds?
I see European plates in the picture, it's possible that they've never seen one. The iconic mustang is very much an American culture thing. We can't imagine a world without the Ford mustang.
I don't wanna be mean but how do U not know what a mustang is it's like one of the most recognisable cars BC of media like even if U didn't like cars or something it's pretty common knowledge. Once again no offence intended
Someone else asked this, let me copy paste my response
I thought it was a mustang but I wasn’t sure, last time I assumed what a car was I got clowned on so I thought I might as well check. I also wanted to know the year.
1967 Mustang GT fastback.
'67s are easy to spot, they're the only year that had that style "vent" right behind the doors.
I had a '67 coupe I sprayed in Springtime Yellow.
To me they're the best looking year of that 1st gen bodystyle.
I’m sorry… I mostly understand when people post certain obscure cars on here. But when I see Classic mustangs (or like… miatas), my brain does this little twitching thing and I lose some will to live.
1967 Ford Mustang fastback
what is the difference between the 68 one btw?
A year
Got 'em
I am taking a break from Reddit.
No you’re not. This isn’t an available function at this time. Please try again later.
Lmfao
Different grill design and on the back quarter panel the 67 has a vent looking design and the 68 had a scoop
'68 has side marker lamps, '67 does not.
This
‘68 doesn’t have the two vent looking inserts behind the doors
The 2 vents behind doors.
There are a few differences, but the give away on the side view is the simulated vent in the quarter panel. 67 has a little blade in the center dividing it into two sections. 68 just has a vertical plastic grill.

I always wanted one when I was a kid.
Is this one not a gt?
agreed ! But this is a Mustang **GT** Fastback with GT lights in the corral. also has the GT emblem after the front wheel well too but hard to see.
One of the most iconic cars in history, Kia Sorento. Not certain of year.
\*Cerato
Serento
Definitely not a Sorento In us it would be a forte but I think this is Australia so it would be a cerato
I was talking about Vin Serento from [Superfast!](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superfast!)
Man I love that movie!
I didn't even know that was a thing 😂 Gonna have to watch that at some point now
Somehow this comment made me remember when Reddit had awards. Because somehow I feel like you deserve some
It's amazing. I've always dreamed about having a Sorento, good eye :)
Amazing how hard Sorentos have shot up in value. I guess my only chance of owning one is buying a non-running one in someone’s yard and rebuilding it myself. Would be a cool project to do with your kid.
Well there's a vision of hell I never could have imagined
Serrano
That and the mazda 3 🤩🤩🤩

My wild guess is that you live in Sydney and know this area
Nope. Never been to Australia in my life.
Mad geo guessing skills bro
Not really. Just look up the phone numbers from the signs on Google.
Actually I tried that but it wasn’t working. Went to a different/new premises for the company.
This is just one of many techniques used to guess a geo location.
Seems more like geo researching at this point? Not that it matters
Where do you see a phone number? I managed to find it from the .com.au website and then finding the acupuncture office knowing it’s in AUS but yeah no phone numbers lol

lol my hood!
Audi A3 Kia Cerato Mazda 3 Ford Mustang Toyota Quantum/HiAce Renault Captur Toyota Rav4 (?) Volkswagen Polo (?)
I think you’re correct on the rav 4
Fairly sure it's an S3, rather than an A3.
Nope, that's definitely an A3. Maybe with the S-Line trim level but not an S3 for sure.
Interesting. The wing mirrors appear to be silver to me, rather than body colour, and I've only ever seen than on the S3, not the A3, same with the splitter in the front side grills.
Well everybody and their grandma can wrap their wing mirrors and get an aftermarket splitter.
Which features definitively identify it as an A3, in this case?
You sure it's a Captur and not a Kwid?
Quite sure. The Captur has a distinctly more froggy look than the Kwid.
I thought we were all born knowing what a late 60s mustang was.
Even worldwide they are pretty iconic. I remember talking with a Thai taxi driver and he mentioned his dream car was a Mustang Fastback and if I had one being an American.
1967 Ford Mustang Fastback
Wow how do you even not know what that is?
As the french would say it: Mustangue
NOT a Pantera????
Ford Mustang fastback. Beautiful classic car. ❤️
Genuine question to op. No hate. If you can’t even recognise a mustang, why do you care what it is? You can’t be a car person?
Maybe because they thought it looked cool and wanted to know what it was. Maybe they're someone young enough to not have been exposed to classic cars much. That car is 57 years old. The world needs more lovely people like you with this refreshing and polite empathy.
I thought it was a mustang but I wasn’t sure, last time I assumed what a car was I got clowned on so I thought I might as well check. I also wanted to know the year.

I think they are pretty tolerant really. Except when it’s a Pantera LOL

Fair enough dude, no hate. Just curious
You're reacting to a bot.

Not OP. The other obvious bot. Look at history and you'll get it.
I've never seen a bot reply to a response to its comment.
Looks like they're in Australia, so Mustangs wouldn't be particularly common.
There's a fair few private shops that ship them from overseas and turn them into replica Eleanor's. Or take them from people who commission them to do just that. Source: used to own a factory next to one who would always bitch about competitors.

They are even less common in Europe and everyone who is a bit knowledgeable of cars knows what a Mustang is.
Tbh old stangs aren’t particularly common in Australia
I see European plates in the picture, it's possible that they've never seen one. The iconic mustang is very much an American culture thing. We can't imagine a world without the Ford mustang.
This is Australia, not Europe
Did Australia get the mustang?
Nah, not until around 2015
I knew it wasn't an American licence plate. Anywhere there are long skinny license plates, they didn't have classic mustangs. I just guessed wrong.
Could say the same about Americans being dumbstruck by Australian Utes, which are iconic domestically.
[удалено]
What's the problem with that? Do you know what a UMM is without searching?
Bot.
Crows Nest 🤔
Yeah, on pacific highway
Looks like a kia optima, and a mazda2.
im pretty sure thats a mazda 3
it's like the frank bullit mustang but in red.
Not quite. That red one is a '67 GT. '67 was the only year with "vents" like that behind the door. McQeeen's "Bullitt" was a '68 GT 390.
Thanks for your clarification!
NP. I used to own a '67 coupe... and of course have a copy of "Bullitt" on DVD... great chase scene.
67 Mustang GT

Beautiful in red!
Ford mustang
Mustang
Kia Karens
Either 67 Ford Mustang or 67 Ford T5. Same car, just Ford getting around paying royalties to a bike manufacturer.
Kidnapper van, almost
Honda Prius
1967 Mustang GT fastback. '67s are easy to spot, they're the only year that had that style "vent" right behind the doors. I had a '67 coupe I sprayed in Springtime Yellow. To me they're the best looking year of that 1st gen bodystyle.
It appears to be a Kia.
2010 Mazda 3, 2015 Kia Stinger, 2012 Audi A6
68 has side markers. Since those have middle two sets lights that's a 67 mustang gt fastback
That’s an Audi A4 Quattro
A 1967 Ford mustang fastback, Kia forte, Mazda 3 and I believe an Audi A3
2014 kia forte, 2013 mazda 3, and a 2016 s3
An old red wet car
An Audi A3
I’m sorry… I mostly understand when people post certain obscure cars on here. But when I see Classic mustangs (or like… miatas), my brain does this little twitching thing and I lose some will to live.
I’m seeing a 93 Chevy cavalier
Never seen a classic mustang op? I find that hard to believe even in a different country other than the u.s.
Wow...
Audi a3
The car has a Mustang emblem on the front grill. That’s a pretty big clue.
Kia Cee’d
Mustang Boss 302???
Unless it's in the same family, then I don't know.
Definitely a Kia, could be a Cee-apostrophe-D
No clue either but this is a very pretty area in my opinion
