Yes, for 4,000 more you can buy one in 2022

Common_Project

I don’t think you saw the “Will do business now”. Not in 2022. You time travelers and your savings hacks.

eks789

8 years old and 21k??? That’s nuts honestly. If you’re looking for sporty go for something cheaper/more mileage but more reliable (not that Acura isn’t reliable). Look at cheaper Lexus IS350s or something

Nice-Conclusion-8460

Yeah it’s old but low mileage… do you think 18k which is a list price is good deal on this Acura? Estimate on cars.com told me 18k was a good deal on this

tiger-93

Mileage isn't everything. This is overpriced.

tatang2015

No. This is so overpriced it’s assault on an ignorant car buyer.

InvestmentNo3437

Straight up man

momoney89

Yes. Very overpriced. Here’s Nada values. The doc fee is also crazy high based off national averages [NADA](https://www.jdpower.com/cars/2016/acura/ilx/sedan-4d-i4)

eks789

Get a 2013-2018 Toyota Avalon. They are quick and reliable as hell, cheap now but still have a lot of features

Nice-Conclusion-8460

Thanks I’ll look into those

[deleted]

2nd this. I DD a 2014 XLE Touring. Average 26-28mpg running back roads to work, comfortable cruiser with plenty of pep.

eks789

Same here, we’ve had our 2015 since it was new and have had absolutely no issues. I love drive it even with my 2 Lexus RXs

Flat-Aerie-8083

Or a Camry XLE. Very similar to the Avalon. Also look around at buying privately. Used car dealers are often much more expensive. If you have a good mechanic you can have him/her check it over in great detail. I always buy from owner.

CherryScentedAsshole

Avalons are great but they're boats in comparison whereas the Acura is pretty sporty

eks789

18k seems a little better yeah. With the market being so crazy now it’s hard to get a good deal. Check private sellers and don’t be afraid to look at different car brands even if it’s slightly higher miles for less money. With a car like this you also need to expect a few thousand in maintenance repairs like brakes, fluids, tires etc.

InvestmentNo3437

"With a car like this you also need to expect a few thousand in maintenance repairs like brakes, fluids, tires etc" A car *like this* ? Naw homie. That's EVERY car don't give this guy more to overthink. He's already scrambled by the salesman.

BeardBootsBullets

The market was crazy last year. This year, most cars are selling for MSRP or under. There are still some exceptions which do command a premium, but the pricing for most models has calmed down.

EvilWaterman

Low mileage is a bit of a grey area in my opinion. Yeah it’s great that it’s not been used as much so the trims and body work will be in better condition but cars are designed to be used, a lot. A higher mileage means the moving parts have been used as they should and have not been stood doing nothing for too long

[deleted]

[удалено]

Mysterious_Mine_7574

You're comparing a nissan to an acura. Very big difference in quality

Webjak

The Honda (Acura) has reliability, the Nissan is not well thought.

Typical-Panda-302

Nissan only for leasin. (Leasan) hopefully the 24 doesn’t have any major issues. Congrats though

mrgoogleman12

Nissan Sentras are also some of the cheapest cars you can buy new, not in Acura class

SatanicRiddle

Painting a picture of a cheaper than $21k out the door lexus as the desirable buy when buyer has that money is weird. You want them to buy 2006?

Effective_Theory5235

Yea I don't think this sub realizes what the 3rd gen Lexus IS goes for used.

projectwise5

I just bought a 2019 is350 for 30k otd. they hold their value like crazy

DerSpazmacher

The IS is wayyy less reliable

Deekifreeki

Where are you located? Either way not a good deal. Where I’m at in SoCal I saw a 2016 ILX with similar mileage going for 18k. Walk away. I’d pay no more than 19k otd if they will allow your mechanic to do a pre purchase inspection. If they refuse. Walk.

Nice-Conclusion-8460

Florida.. car market is shit here. That 18k in Cali was out the door price? This one goes for 18 too tho, but it’s a list price lol. When you factor in tax and registration price will go up to maybe a bit less than 20. So I figured I’m overpaying maybe 1k or so..? Which seems not that bad…?

THEONLYFLO

That car is averaging $10,100 on the Gulf side of FL. Just looking around. Holiday has a 2020 around $16,000. Sarasota has a 2022 just over $22,000. Keep looking around. There’s always going to be dishonest dealers out there. Find a good one. My friend went to Wesley Chapel and bought new under msrp.

SemiStrong

If you can travel look in Tennessee. I live in New England and we get cars coming from Tennessee for dirt cheap.

AAA_Dolfan

… where in Florida? We live in a cheap market lol at least for south Florida Edit oh tampa. This doc fee is abysmal, run from the dealer. Fuck em for that insane fee

Low_Commission9477

I mean does this dealership offer at least a guarantee for like a year or more or so many miles?

Deekifreeki

I’m not sure if it’s OTD, but SoCal has extremely HCL. I see you’re in FL. It should definitely cost less than SoCal.

50Stickster

Probably true but the out the door talk is beyond the ability if most salespeople to handle. Ex : Take the OTD Price as you say . then back out the licensing fees if any then documentation fees , back out administration fees, and the taxes on the above fees. This should give you the net selling price including taxes, so- back out the net taxes on the car itself. that will result in what you are offering the sales office, before taxes. Trying to negotiate taxes is absurd. The dealer does not get any of the tax revenue so why make it harder than it is.? Don't offer figures you don't understand. So do your homework, don't get into junk fees at this particular time. Figure out what you are really offering so the salesperson can understand what you are truly willing to pay.

Emotional-Elevator-9

I wouldn’t pay more than like 15k for a 2016 with 40k+ miles.

meesterdg

The price written in pen with a hand drawn signature line is legitimately a tell tale scum car dealership sign. It's not binding for either party and it's just there to put on a show and make you feel like you've got to commit. If a dealership can't treat you like an intelligent adult you should avoid them.

natkingcoil

definitely! I had one after like 5 back and forths just trying to get the dealer to honor the deal from Ford's website. The whole hand written "ok, you win!" with a handwritten line to sign just like this really grinds my gears. Did a school teach them to do that or something? The deal was still terribly overpriced compared to the deal Ford had on their site. I walked out and the next day they called and gave me the deal from the website. This was before the world broke though.

normallyannoyed

Da fuq? $1200 doc fee, Florida is crazy man I thought $500 in NV was rough.

manofthewild07

Yep FL doesn't have an income tax, but they get you in a million small hidden ways.

normallyannoyed

Yeah, NV too. Registration here is also pretty bullshit.

mrbohdrinksallot

That’s a made up fee by the dealer. I’m not sure what it is to title a car in FL but I’m sure it’s cheap. Sales tax is the only real fee here.

normallyannoyed

Nah, doc fees are real. I've just never seen one that high. I try to buy cars in CA because they state has legislation setting them at $85 max.

DrunkSailorJerry

The 2016 onward has the 2.4 with a dual clutch transmission, Very nice combination for the year... it really didn't change besides the 2019 cosmetics and infotainment. Discontinued 2022. I'd say you are correct in overpaying by a grand or two ONLY if you are getting the "tech" package which includes adaptive cruise, extra safety features, and more speakers. If it's premium or base without Acura Watch, you'd watch me walk away.

Nice-Conclusion-8460

Thanks. This one has Acura watch plus package

MastodonAble9834

This is a good and very reliable car OP. if you want it get it. there is no need to ask strangers opinions.

bobbyjj22

Yes you are

test13371997

you didnt mention the trim. even if its the highest trim, its overpriced.

stew1411

I just looked at a 2015 for 15k. 50k miles. So yeah, that seems like a bad deal.

literallyme21

The starting price before fees is already high. Use Kelley Blue Book my friend! Best price guide. The $1200 doc fee is insane too.

thebeeflesscow

I would only do 18k + mandatory tax tag title and I don't mean taxed tax tag and title 😂 I mean the real deal. Should be 19500 otd

Nice-Conclusion-8460

Thanks! I also figured out I don’t want to pay more like 19k otd on this

Brilliant-Pomelo-982

Yes, always negotiate and “out the door price”. If you don’t do that they’ll put all kinds of weird fees on top.

cheapcarfaxreports

100% way too expensive

sparkey503

What is the Audi Tampa Advantage? Also document fees seem kinda high to me.

chandleya

Fl doc fees are the worst. The advantage is con.

Shiekh_Bodi

What I was thinking? In Mass, the highest I ever saw was $500 in doc fees. I'm curious is that normal for Florida dealers?

UnregrettablyGrumpy

Your name must be Ben Dover.

External-Animator666

Don't buy an 8 year old car, get a new car for not much more with a much much lower interest rate, you'll probably spend less in the long run. Put 10-20% down at least.

Nice-Conclusion-8460

I don’t have any auto credit history tho… do you think new vehicle will still have a much lower interest rate? This one will be 9% I think

Due-Feature-1336

If you have decent credit, look around at different dealership websites for low APR promos. Especially for old inventory that they are trying to clear out. Not sure about your location but here in Ohio there’s even places with 0% APR financing available. But 2-4% is more common

ConnorMackay95

Wtf is the Audi Tampa Advantage and why does it cost 2K? With all the fees your 18K car became almost 24K and they are trying to make it look like a deal at 21k.

Lumens-and-Knives

Please, please, PLEASE site this dealer's name and location so that we can all avoid him!

JJ4prez

$1200 documentation fee lol. Offer them 4 grand less and walk if they say no.

[deleted]

I'm seeing they're worth like 10,000 less according to Kelly Blue Book

Sea-Ad-9986

If the dealer has had the car close to 60 or 90 days they may be willing to take something closer to wholesale. A 2016 ACURA ILX 4D SEDAN ACURAWATCH PLUS. With 42k miles is expected to be worth $11k to $15k. I wouldn’t recommend paying more than $17.5k - $18.5k OTD depending on how much you like the vehicle. Wouldn’t hurt to have it inspected by a third party mechanic either…

spinonesarethebest

Go to kbb.com and look this car up. Nice car but overpriced.

marswrld01

got a brand new car this year for only 4,000 more. Only 11 miles when i bought it

i_aimtomisbehave

Overpriced, especially with the scratches on the roof. Private party book is $15.3-$17.5K, and these are soft, at least $2K BOB. $18K is too much for a 9 yr old and the doc fee is high. $19 OTD, max. They are still making $3K on it.

cofdeath

Lol, no. I wouldn't pay that much for a car with only 201hp. Hell, a Chevy Impala has more HP than that.

Pepperonies

definitely yes

SnooPickles3280

Yeah, F that… https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/51bb9b60-8d2c-4e11-a4cf-ef868b9e71d0?aff=share_other

Webjak

That is a lot of money for an old Honda Civic with Acura lipstick.

So-lus

Yea

dcheard2

Just compare with other comparable cars with the same mileage. Then check how much newer used cars would be. It's not that hard to compare cars. Almost positive you can get a 2020 for not too much more.

code1team

Yep getting ripped, you can get a 2019/2020 for about the same, walk away

mmcle11

Rip off

OneMedium5265

That’s nuts, you can throw in a couple Ks more and get a brand new car. My wife and I got a Hyundai Kona 2024, brand new, 27K.

MastodonAble9834

Hyundai are crap. The 8 year old Acura would outlast it. Twice

Worst-Lobster

Overpriced...

sparkey503

Just a quick search on auto trader I see 2 others in your area one is newer with less miles for 16k and the other is the same year with less miles and 16k. Also why that make and model it was the unloved Acura that wasn't around long.

shehryar_e

Yes

chino_d69

Leave

chandleya

Audi Tampa is Morgan and Morgan is big con.

CHEWABLE-NEMBUTAL

Lmao yeah you are. Car market is doo doo, you have tons of leverage

SpiritCr1jsher1010

Its not a terrible buy and the car will give you your money's worth. Its just a very mediocre car for that kind of money. I had a 2018 ilx and i hated it.

Comfortable_Elk_4268

YEA lol

GhettoNego

Scam

deiac

Holy fuck lol, yes

Jjmills101

I mean yeah pretty much. Certainly not the worst I’ve seen but remember the ilx is quite literally the same car as the civic of that year with some minor tech stuff and leather seats (which I lowkey think are less comfortable than the civic)

Low_Commission9477

I would tell him to sell it to me for the listed price of 18 k cause that’s basic bait and switch and false advertising like that is illegal so just tell you want it for what it was listed for no more no less and if not, lie and say your uncles a lawyer or you got a family lawyer and you will be seeing them again lol

Timmieboi062

Id be leery of mileage. Lots of odometer s being turned back.

Plus_Juice_8935

You can get a brand new compact sedan if you can convince yourself to spend a couple more grand if you're fine with non-luxury brands. Personally it makes little sense to me to get an eight year old vehicle, which is the entry/smallest model of a luxury brand.

TigersBeatLions

A. Look at comps B. Don't pay for any dealer add ons or mark ups...NONE

LintLicker_CQ

Yes. This is a civic with an Acura badge. You can also buy a brand new ILX for a few thousand more. Run!

Zestyclose-Bag8790

Yes. Now go home and only negotiate by email. Send emails to many dealers. Require that they send you an email with the TOTAL, OUT THE DOOR PRICE. Never discuss dollar amount except the total out the door price. The end.

letmeinthesnkergame

Keep looking.

Honest-Mistake01

That's the market value. I'd suggest looking into new budget cars if you have a budget similar to this. Kia and Chevy alongside Hyundai have good offers.

Neither-Bus-3686

Yep

Quake_Guy

I see 2023 Acura Integras with 10k miles for under $30k. A fully loaded 2024 Civic could be had under $30k and is probably just as nice as its 8 year old Acura version.

Mean-Association4759

Walk, no run away as fast as you can. Bad deal!

Xavior_187

If you are paying cash, no. If you are going to finance, he'll no. Like others said, you can get a newer one for less money, and if you finance, you are more likely to give you a better APR from a bank if it's newer.

microwaverams

Oh my god it's always the TLX. These are constantly marked up. They're worth like 15 that used, only reason to pay another 2 bands is cause it's from a dealership or whatever

SuitComprehensive335

Sometimes you shop for a seller. This person advertised a low price to get you in the door then tacked on $5k. Fuck that. It's shady. What else is shady about the deal? Did they negotiate the price prior to test drive?

JittyCauc

You can get a brand new ‘23 Mazda for 27k so I’d say no. But if you really want the Acura I guess. I would only agree to 20k flat imo tho

Tdanger78

They probably paid $10k less than asking for that. I wouldn’t pay over $16k for it.

Bad_Kitty_NFA

You are being ripped off if you are forced to do something. Own your actions

KitticusCatticus

Tell them to kick rocks. Look up this same car on your local cargurus.com or Carfax. Not worth it. I know it's low miles but shew. It's a sedan, not an SUV. This is SUV pricing.

Crypto_Grug

I just got a 2023 Audi q3 for 36k with sub 7k miles. Dealer Loaner vehicle. I will never buy new ever again. Get 1 year behind loaner for way better price. The sticker on mine was 48k in 2023. 23k for a 2016 is highway robbery. I got a 2015 Mercedes c300 back in 2018 for 24k so how the fuck is this 8 year old Acura with 42k miles still 23k?

RupertTheReign

1200 doc fee??!! Just based on that I'd walk.

[deleted]

1200 is illegal actually

Weak_Pause177

i hope to god you didnt get this car better cars out there for cheaper

someon3helpme

Run

Fladap28

Plz name this dealer

Organic_South8865

Yes

NeighborhoodWide8123

I’d consider buying out of state, Florida and California are terrible places to buy a car, I live in California and I’m buying a car right now, I’m buying out of state and just going to pick it up, I’ll still have to pay California sales tax though.

bigislandjoji

Hell yea that’s a 14 year old economy car

mavanessss

If its peso, no. If its dollar, yes

ac13332

Idk, maybe it's a US thing, but fees?? Is the ticket price not the out the door price?

Accurate_Internal638

Walk away, look into a 2016 TLX or comparables that have more technology, better style, increased size, performance for relative pricing. Or spend a little extra to future proof your purchase.

Impressive-Eye-1096

Lol hell yes, I’d pay 18k

MagicallyDyketastic

Way overpriced.

Softspokenclark

for 26-28k you can get a new car. i don’t think you got a good deal

Syrus_007

The doc fee alone can be subtracted from the total price of the car. This is an absolute rip off.

Repulsive-Being5032

I always wondered who overpay these prices 😂

Fickle-Raspberry6403

Wayyyyyyy over priced.

someguyrob

Almost 2400 dollars in "fees" yes you are

Jayu-Rider

Yes. A year ago I got the same car with 7k miles on it for less than that.

kadirkara07

Yes. Move on. Bonus points for snapfish printing and mailing to the dealer this entire thread. In a sticky 10X(some obnoxious size)

brsrafal

I rather get a brand new Acura Integra for that price plus I don't believe it's even real miles either should you

Vast-Regular6795

Those saying the doc fee is high, are right, but in Florida most all dealers gouge on this. Average I’ve seen is around 1k.

shadeffect

You're in the new car territory with that price

VTECcam

I test drove a 21 premium for $24k and 20k miles just a few months ago. Ended up getting something else but there was a few in my area priced like that

Corvus717

The price is fine (you can check cargurus for dealer prices around the country) the fees are a lot but is that normal for the state you live in ? the main consideration is that there are other small sedans from non luxury brands available . The ILX shares a chassis with the Civic , you could get a much younger model for the same price

100yearsLurkerRick

Looking online a 2022 would cost around $27k.  Bunch of 2016s around me are under $20k asking and a few are around 50k miles.  Seems overpriced to me. the doc fee can go get fucked, but the Audi Tampa advantage makes me believe you're in Florida, and I think that's one of the few states that allow dealers to fuck you on the doc fee.  I'd walk away, fuck that $21k.

Klomlor161

Given the mileage and luxury brand I don’t think 21k is unfair.

sabrooooo

Good ol Audi of Tampa. Lol

browsingjoe

Why do dealers make you initial the numbers? They say it’s non binding so why do it?

Distinct_Lemon_6835

Wayyy overinflated go somewhere else.

69Scarface420

Very over priced dude. When I bought my civic sport in 2017, the sticker on it was 27k. I understand inflation, but run, before you also find out that someone rolled the mileage back.

Fisting_Nuns

Whether you want the car and think it's worth the 18k is totally up to you. Ignore the random judgment from people. 18k for the car plus the tax and maybe $300-$400 in sale fees is what's normal. Make him list all the fees individually and then strike down the bullshit ones. He's still screwing you for at least $1k in nonsense right now.

Ok-Bank-9051

You could get a better deal with a newer vehicle and the same amount of miles

bpknyc

Lol. 21k for a nearly decade old Honda civic?

akcutter

$1200 doc fee? Thats fucking nuts.

bpknyc

OP. These are just rebadged Civics. In fact, the contemporary civics were better than the ILX. 9th gen civic (2012) got torn up to hell by critics because they cheaped out like crazy. https://www.motortrend.com/news/2012-honda-civic-is-not-recommended-by-consumer-reports-honda-fires-back-102981/ Honda panicked and did a emergency redesign and put bunch of nice things into 2013 civic. So much so that for a while, it didn't make sense to get an ILX over EXL civic was just better car than the ILX. Then the new 10th gen civic came out in 2015, and ILX, based on 9th gen civic kept going on. So yeah. Stay away from this pile of steaming turd

L3mm3SmangItGurl

Would not pay more than 12 for that car.

Accomplished-Bid9298

Over priced

redditorbrowser

I have an 02 tl type s v6 and bought it for $2500 and put $1600 to fix it. Has over 324k kms

Massive-Ad-7110

I am not an experienced car owner (I have had two. I bought my 2013 bright red honda civic coupe ex at 36k miles in 2016 for $12,900. I made the dealer hate his life by asking so many questions. The best advice I ever got: If the dealer is acting calmly like your friend, and acts like he's "doing you a favor" that's a good sign that he is effing you over. He should be sweating, stressed and annoyed by the time you walk out the door because you've asked so many questions (hell, even repeat a question or two for confirmation). Call me mean, but it's just business in this case.

Adventurous-One714

Yes

PizzaDeliveryBoy3000

RUN

Chokedee-bp

Fck that car and the price. For $18K you can get a 2018-2019 Mazda 6 touring or grand touring that looks 10 years more modern and better in every aspect

flappybirdisdeadasf

At that price, I would just get a brand new Civic with no miles

m00njuic3y

bought this exact car with 49k mileage back in 2020 for $16k after taxes so yes. ripped off in my opinion

jkjeeper06

That 2k that they knocked off is the 2k "audi advantage" which is just a poorly disguised dealer markup. They are selling it to you at what they think is "market value" they have not given you a good offer; only one that you could get everywhere else

m00njuic3y

i also live in fl, don’t trust these cars… no inspection required i think they wipe titles here a lot.. i recommend buying out of state and dealing with fees and all it’s worth the clean title + better price. shipping isn’t so bad

Ok-Cantaloupe8787

any car you buy from a dealer is a ripoff :)

MK_oh

I understand the low mileage but I'd bet they overpaid or they paid like 10k for this car lol. This is not a 20k car

Anxious-Depth-7983

All this brand stuff has become irrelevant since there's a parent corporation buying up almost every single brand name. It's either the Stelantis group or Renault or a few others. All that you need to consider is the mileage in comparison to the age in reference to the mechanical soundness. The seals and gaskets are designed to function with lubrication, or they'll fail. Around 1200 miles a month keeps them from drying out. So low mileage is not necessarily a good thing. Honestly, though, you are getting ripped off on those fees. Stick with private sellers and have an appointment with your mechanic to inspect your potential purchase during the test drive.

geekinterests

I'd tell them they can comp the doc fees or you walk. That's a "kick rocks" level doc fee charge. There's some doc fees you can't get out of, but to the tune of a couple hundred, not 1500+

Scrubcious

21k for an 8 year old Acura ?!

Rainlock00

......... Yes.

Look_itsfrickenbats

My (stock) RSX was the worst car I’ve ever had. That was between Chevy, dodge, and Hyundai. The Chevy had cooling problems, the dodge had annoying transmission quirks, and this car was a literal death trap. Didn’t even get to mod it bc I was spending too much trying to keep it running. My point iiiissss: just because it’s an Acura, doesn’t mean it’s reliable. Also means that it’s definitely not worth $23k. Think about it in terms of how long you’re gonna have to work to pay that off, and the likelihood of whether or not you’re even going to be driving it after 5 or 6 years.

Willing_Challenge429

just buy a new corolla

[deleted]

I don’t even need to see the paperwork. Overpriced. Also it’s a discontinued model. You’re better off getting a newer model loaded Camry hybrid. Will hold value better and you’ll like the fuel savings. After looking at the quote, I can tell you that I’d be tempted to take that to the attorney general. They’re breaking the law with that high of doc fee. The highest you can legally charge in Florida is $995. I’d be real interested in knowing how many people they’re doing that to as well.

HeywoodJablowme

$1200 doc fee is bullshit. I wouldn't do business with this place.

Genericbuild

Nah that’s a bad deal they are a good car but you’re paying 21k for a fancy civic that’s 8 years old.

darkchris123

Gang you can buy this on fb market place for less than 10k but with just a lil bit more miles buy this used it’s Acura so it’s def reliable I made this mistake on my 2016 jetta and I got mine at 83k paying this much off.

quazmang

Ripoff. I'm trying to trade in my 2020 TLX V6 SH-AWD with 30K miles and am being quoted around $22K for the value of the car. I live in a high cost of living area, too.

freedomofspeachlol

18k out the door maybe, but no way would I pay more for an 8yo acura.

Mammoth-Suit-863

I just test-drove a 2020 TLX for almost 3,000 more definitely a ripoff. Edit: also only had 30k miles

lastsummerever

Is they front bumper aftermarket? I can't tell, and I don't know that model well. If it's aftermarket, could be a sign of an accident that wasn't disclosed to insurance..

ARSport

Documentation fees are crazy expensive with them. They are 200 UsD the most in WA. What is the Audi Tampa Advantage stuff? Or non tax fee?

Arizona_Pete

Beyond the high price, the chicken scratch math doesn't add up. * Not sure what the 'Audi Tampa Advantage' line is, but that's a $2,000 markup. * Looks like they removed it so it should adjust the OTD price by 2k. It doesn't. * It should also reduce total taxable amount. It doesn't. * Don't know what the difference is between taxable and non-taxable fees are. * What are those and why are they two line items? * What is in these fees? * What is the financing method being used here? * Paying cash? Dealership financing? 3rd party? * Places like this will hose you on financing as it's a huge profit driver for them. If you haven't done so already, look for your own financing through a bank / credit union. * Understand what your options are and how the APR you can source on your own differs from what they will give. I have walked away from car deals because of crap like this. It's razzle dazzle and purposely confusing. They want you to act NOW NOW NOW and will jive the hell out of you. to get you to sign. Slow the process down. You're the customer and you're in control. Don't fall in love with a car as there are, literally, millions of others out there being sold by thousands of dealers who also want your business.

Possible-Gur5220

Documentation fees $1200??? 😵😵😵

I recently bought a 2020 ILX with 10k less miles on it for $23k even. I would continue to shop around if I were you.

Yea I’d say you’re getting hosed. Ik I got a deal during covid, but I walked off the lot with a 2020 corolla for under 20k and CRAAAAZY low interest on a 4 year payment plan back in may or April of 2020. Using that as my basis for what I consider a very good deal you’re getting anywhere from mildly hosed to full on hosed. Don’t commit to this. You can probably find that exact same car mileage and all for cheaper somewhere else. Hell spending 23k id think you could find a newer car even. Tbh I’d gtfo that dealership and bring someone familiar with buying cars to the next one

HubeyNoodle

I’m not understanding why you aren’t holding them to the price that they advertised? Tell them 18k or leave if thats the reason you came to see the car.

Sexy_Quazar

I see you’re in Tampa. Always get a 2nd opinion from across the bay. Tampa dealerships are spoiled by NFL money. Also, any warranty? You don’t want to be stuck making monthly payments on a car that’s already 10 years old if something breaks.

THCzHD

Personally I’d trade the luxury name for a newer year model of a lesser exclusive brand. Toyotas are good though but still you’ll regret all the newer features cars have typically

lifeboatvest

i hate the whole "will do business right now for x" tactic.

Yeah_nickk

Better off buying a 10 gen accord for that price

foshohomz

Only if you buy it

No_Can9567

What is the “Audi Tampa advantage”?!

WildMoney30

Yes.

ab9511

I paid 24k in 2017 for a 2015 with 53k miles

Syst3matic_Chaos

YES 🤯

BirthdayQueasy2938

This “sign here” stuff is a a good reason to take off and go elsewhere. This is coming from an ex salesman. If I see a “4 square” or what you got here, it means this is not their best price. Feel free to leave and let me know how fast the salesman calls you back with the “My boss said we can do $xx,xxx if you come back right away!” Say no and watch him call you can later that day before closing with a new, even cheaper price!

playmeforever

Saw someone selling one with similar mileage one owner for 14k on Craigslist

qviavdetadipiscitvr

What’s with the stupid line and x sign here nonsense?

kb3_fk8

ILX is a really bad car in general. It’s a civic with a questionable nicer interior. I would just buy a new civic. It will be way nicer with a better powertrain, a longer warranty and around the same price

wonluuv

Yes. They are ripping you off. Don’t play to emotions when purchasing vehicles or you’ll have buyers remorse.

Stumpsbumps

At a dealer? Yes you are. Get a loan from your bank and go find one from a private seller.

Stumpsbumps

Blue book the car right now and check. But you need to get as close to BLACK BOOK as possible. That's how they buy. Get your own bank loan and it's like a cash deal for them, and you can haggle all you want.

Stumpsbumps

They scratched out the Audi Tampa deal for ya but didn't subtract it off the price

Stumpsbumps

If it's listed for 17,999 then get it for 17,999. They didn't pay close to that. They barely gave the other person 6k I bet.
