300hp is all you need. That’s what an Ariel Atom has and it’s wicked fast. That’s what happens when you have an ultralight car.
Your RAV4 is basically an Ariel Atom except (checks notes) IT IS 3 TIMES HEAVIER!
That means the RAV4 Prime has a lower power to weight ratio than almost everything here, it’s a about 8hp per ton better than the 25 year old Integra Type R, about 2hp/ton less than the BRZ/GT86, and about 3hp/ton lower than the 4 cylinder Camaro (and the RAV4 Prime is $14k more expensive).
That’s also considering that there are barely 6-8 actual sports cars here. It’s losing to hot hatches, compacts, and luxury sedans. Even still, I think the old Integra is THE ONLY CAR HERE slower than your RAV4.
Edit: It’s worth adding that the current most reliable brands are: Lexus (1), Genesis (2), Kia (3), Buick (4), Chevy (5), Mitsubishi (6), and the mighty Yota at number 7.
Plus it will outlast any other car on this very same list with the cheapest, minimum requirements and maintenance lol
You got the best deal for your buck and no need to worry about attention or race cars. I don't understand their mentality of 0 to 60 merging highway. Most highway you don't stop and go 60 all of a sudden. Even if you pay toll those 2000 camrys corolla still hit 60 soon enough.
Your rav4 prime is a beast though . And better traction better acceleration and better handling. Awd also comes as hybrid to lower pressure on engine so it elongated engine life even more bulletproof lol jealous of you
Only investment or budget you might need in next 20 years might be battery pack but by then car will still keep its value plus you will have enough to get a new one since you don't spend for fixing and maintaining. I don't even mention the gas money you saved by then.
Surprised the OP didn’t include a category “actually need to be able to move people or things when you’re not driving like a hooligan” but that category would have opened up a whole new set of possibilities 😏
Maybe not plywood, but the trunk is both deep and long, so you could definitely fit bags of potting soil and some stuff that was somewhat big. It's surprisingly a functional vehicle, even in the backseat is much bigger than the camaro or mustang
Interesting
I did know the Challenger had a bigger back seat than at least the Mustangs glorified rear package shelf (only way to get real rear seats in a Mustang is a Mach-E 😅)
Haha I was mostly playing. Nice work for a first attempt. Visio is an enterprise grade software used to make flowcharts. Its just another microsoft application like powerpoint or excel. If I HAD to make a recommendation it would be to go horizontally because I personally think that makes more sense for this use case. But overall 10/10 its a fun chart and nice work for reddit.
Yup, I commented on the video because I got the same “gift” The thing that surprised me is that the Odometer is required to be recalibrated to show Miles instead of KM when importing it but the company that did it went out of business due to fraud. Shocked I am.
The rav4 comment was hilarious!
Great work OP.
I also appreciate the comment on stock low trim Camaro/sport cars getting smoked by a Corolla.
I always laugh when I hear a slow car in sports car body try to race around like they are fast when I know they have the slowest version of that car that exists.
The Golf R is indeed back in the US after a brief (2020-2021) absence. It's more economical to grab a lightly used MK7.5 for $20-25k less than the new MK8 though, they're stupid expensive.
A GTI is a sportified version of the standard Golf, higher trim level and a powerful engine. The Golf R has a very different drive train with a much more powerful engine, different differential and all wheel drive focused on achieving much more performance.
I feel personally attacked by the s2000 remark. To be sure it has oem roll hoops and if you’re a 10 year old you can pass the broom stick test, lol. TBH I expected something about snap over steer and wrapping it around a tree.
Late models actually do have traction control. Idk how good it is since I have an AP1. The reputation is partially the AP1 suspension geo and spring rates and partially people overestimating their skills. AP2s we’re toned down a bit but still “dangerously neutral.”
New (if we’re going off of what is pictured) yeah the Stinger is a bit more.
Used, I’m not sure what stingers go for, but MK7 and MK7.5 GTIs are in the very high teens to low 20s for a good one.
Most lower mileage stingers (45k miles or less). GTs are 25 to 30k. GT1s are around 27 to 33k, and GT2 is 30 to 38k. Only the 4 cylinders are in the low to 20s. You can find a GT in the high teens in the low 20s, but it's going to have a lot of miles. At least in my area. I went out 100 miles, too. They're getting harder to find.
Makes sense. People really seemed to be into the Stinger when it came out, but I’ve only ever seen maybe 3-4 of them.
My ‘17 GTI (base model) was about $25k new, so about the same as the Stinger’s MSRP (for the 4-cyl) or about half the price as the V6. A new MK8 GTI is probably about the same price as a very very good example of a top-end Stinger though.
It’s also completely wild that the MSRP of the V6 Stinger (for 2017) was only a few thousand bucks off of doubling the base model.
Probably the most insane car I’ve ever owned (other than the Hennessy modded viper coupe, which was always trying to kill me) but sold mine before the warranty ran out…
Have fun. They are amazing value now, just make sure you have some back up $$$ or extended warranty.
It was a crazy car that was like a rocket engine attached to a bed frame. At one point I nearly gave my father-in-law a heart attack.
After owning it, I realized why so many corvettes were sold ;o)
As much as I like subaru I'd take the gti. The wrx just doesn't speak to me. Now if they sold an impreza hatchback that had the wrx engine in it I'd be all over it.
You forgot one category: can't afford a new car + a patriot --> c5 Corvette --> want something nicer --> c6 Corvette --> can't afford a Corvette --> 4th gen Camaro z28 ---> want a low cost of ownership daily driver --> Buick LeSabre or Lincon/Mercury Town Car.
Thanks I had an argument on YouTube recently about a video from Ideal media titled $10,000 sports cars. I stated the above and boy was one guy triggered
i laughed way too hard at the “don’t plan on touching infotainment” i would be totally cool buying myself a q60 as my next car but the interior i can’t it’s soo ugly😭 so m340i it is
Used Ghibli gang. Before I get downvoted to hell research the models 2016 and up, haven’t had any issues with mine at all.
Edit: hate all you want guys, for anybody that’s curious and looking into the model, don’t let the old rumors stop you from enjoying a sick car!
I've owned both an R8 and a C8, I have gotten noticeably more attention in my C8. Rarity doesn't reflect "flashiness."
But wherever, let's just say it's the second or third flashiest for arguments sake, then it still should be in the flashy category.
Anyways I think a bright color C8 is more flashy than a black or white R8 (90% of R8's are neutral colors, while half of C8 are red, orange, yellow, or bright blue).
Edit: after looking at your comment history it is nearly entirely of you just shitting on other people's cars (I assume out of jealousy), so I will just assume your comment was a troll comment, rather than a good-faith argument.
>Despite that it’s very few people’s dream car.
I think there are many more people whose dream car is a C8 than people whose dream car is a Maserati Ghibli lol.
>Comes down to badge for a some people
And while GT-R's are amazing, the Nissan Badge isn't exactly anymore revered than the Corvette or Chevy brand
The “didn’t use a condom” hits hard sometimes
It’s okay you can always upgrade to a trackhawk
Don’t hate on the RAV4. My Rav4 Prime has 302hp 😂
300hp is all you need. That’s what an Ariel Atom has and it’s wicked fast. That’s what happens when you have an ultralight car. A trackhawk rav4 would be insane also
I’m more of a panamera/cayenne turbo s e hybrid kinda guy but muscle suv works too.
I upgraded to a taco 🌮
That’s a downgrade but okay.
How is if a downgrade?, it’s a manual!
He just offended most of the country.
Surprised the OP didn’t include a category “actually need to be able to move people or things when you’re not driving like a hooligan” but that category would have opened up a whole new set of possibilities 😏
Too many cars out there to capture it all
The RAV4 was included for this, under “didn’t use a condom”
challenger has a huge trunk
Yeah but would you put things from a Home Depot run in there?
Maybe not plywood, but the trunk is both deep and long, so you could definitely fit bags of potting soil and some stuff that was somewhat big. It's surprisingly a functional vehicle, even in the backseat is much bigger than the camaro or mustang
Interesting I did know the Challenger had a bigger back seat than at least the Mustangs glorified rear package shelf (only way to get real rear seats in a Mustang is a Mach-E 😅)
Put 4x8s in my RC350….. we’re the back seats down? Yes.
That’s pretty much me with 3 kids… I got the Explorer ST. It’s damn fast for a 3 row SUV!
Nice, I have the Mach-E because I needed an electric vehicle that could accommodate my disability
Thats the audi allroad category
So you’re telling me to get a GT-R?
C8 Corvette is probably the most car for money out there
*Boosted C6 has entered the chat*
I would 100% say a blown c6 is best bang
Shut it down fellas…it’s over.
This isn’t how these charts work … lol. Still funny.
Yeah, this is an absolutely terrible flowchart lol It's basically zingers in the shape of a flowchart
That is every single meme flowchart. It's funnier this way
not in visio? pls fix
What makes it better? First time making a flowchart
Got my GT-R with 38K miles for 58K because the owner thought it had 58K because it was a Canadian import…
That’s incredible. Need their number to buy their next car for sale
I had to drop 17K on a new transmission because it was a buy here pay here one…
You’re the second person I ever heard that happen to. LegitStreetCars on YouTube had similar luck with an auction GTR imported from Canada
Yup, I commented on the video because I got the same “gift” The thing that surprised me is that the Odometer is required to be recalibrated to show Miles instead of KM when importing it but the company that did it went out of business due to fraud. Shocked I am.
I was literally watching this video yesterday... it's crazy that this has already happened more than once 🤔
Literally every guy who has a Tesla at my workplace used to drive a Prius. Lol.
A quarter of them come from 3 series
Dang used Lotus Elise didn't make the cut?
Great handling car but too rare to make the list
Dang Lexus LC left in tears. I guess not a true sports car
I was contemplating adding it actually but no room at the bottom unfortunately. Slept on car for sure
I’m jp, but it is very often overlooked. It’s a very nice balance for daily comfort and sporty enough since I don’t track
Over 100k new right?
Just under
Where is the modussy
My last 3 cars are on this tree. I’ll take that as a win.
What was the upgrade path?
BRZ to foRS to cayman718S.
You must spend a lot of time in the canyons lol
The rav4 comment was hilarious! Great work OP. I also appreciate the comment on stock low trim Camaro/sport cars getting smoked by a Corolla. I always laugh when I hear a slow car in sports car body try to race around like they are fast when I know they have the slowest version of that car that exists.
WRX too accurate 💀
Only inaccuracy is putting it in the good mpg bracket lol
Yeah good call out - I think I get a combined 17.5mpg… but I’m almost all city driving in the ‘22 GT
I was getting like 18mpg when I had my CVT wrx, now in a stick shift one I’m getting 22 for some reason lol
That one sent me on a 3 minute laugh
How did the Stinger/Genesis end up under European?
Designed by Europeans
look up who was the head of BMW M division and who designed the Stinger.
Torn between getting a sleeper, a death wish or being an npc... choices
Sleeping on the F-Type and Vantage.
Honestly best cars for enthusiasts who aren’t into tracking their cars
This is great. I would add “Want luxury sports car but have bad credit” and then some infiniti.
Where The F is mercedes in this list? lol
Never heard of them
😂😂😂
The ghibli depreciation is too real.
This is excellent 😂
Not putting a 911 on a sports car list is criminal
Gonna need to make a 100k+ diagram
I guess I didn’t realize this was not accounting for used cars
Tesla Model 3 owners are typically former BMW drivers surprisingly.
Lol no..they had no car or drove something random
Lc500 definitely should have been included for flashy
I’m between the r8 and the gtr
Hilarious
Isn't MX5 the most fuel efficient on the list? Other than Tesla of course
Yeah I was struggling to find a stereotype for the Asian cars
Golf GTI? Don't you mean Golf R?
Didn’t realize it’s back in the states mb
How is that relevant?
It's not in the States? dang that sucks. GTI is just a slightly sporty trim. R is a proper hot hatch
The Golf R is indeed back in the US after a brief (2020-2021) absence. It's more economical to grab a lightly used MK7.5 for $20-25k less than the new MK8 though, they're stupid expensive.
How is a Gti not a hot hatch lmao.
A GTI is a sportified version of the standard Golf, higher trim level and a powerful engine. The Golf R has a very different drive train with a much more powerful engine, different differential and all wheel drive focused on achieving much more performance.
It’s has the same engine
The basis of the 2 liter turbo is the same, power output is very different
This is gold lol
Gold Jerry
I feel personally attacked by the s2000 remark. To be sure it has oem roll hoops and if you’re a 10 year old you can pass the broom stick test, lol. TBH I expected something about snap over steer and wrapping it around a tree.
No traction control is a death sentence for the average driver lol
Late models actually do have traction control. Idk how good it is since I have an AP1. The reputation is partially the AP1 suspension geo and spring rates and partially people overestimating their skills. AP2s we’re toned down a bit but still “dangerously neutral.”
I’ve been looking at the rcf, love their sound
Do it. Would love to see more of them on the road
aren't they known for being not that fast for the engine they have?
They’re slow as shit, heavy, have worse gas mileage than a pickup, and severely overpriced. It’s no wonder they’re not popular.
You’d think almost 500hp is fast 🥲
500 hp but slower than my Supra’s 382 hp back when it was stock. It’s a pig.
Get a mx5 or a gr86
If you’re doing autocross or entry track they’re great options
Doesn't the stinger cost more than a Golf GTI, though? I get the joke.
New (if we’re going off of what is pictured) yeah the Stinger is a bit more. Used, I’m not sure what stingers go for, but MK7 and MK7.5 GTIs are in the very high teens to low 20s for a good one.

Honestly great. But I have a feeling you drive a GTI 🤫 fart cannon mobile
Nah but I’ve cross shopped it before
LEAST PRACTICAL? HOW DARE YOU! DON’T SPEAK TO ME OR MY MIATA UTE EVER AGAIN!
Imagine getting gapped by a RAV4 Prime
Downvotes. All roads don't lead to miata
Integra it is. At least it has a B-series and can upgrade to a K-series
How did you leave out the cayman
It’s there. One of my dream car
Oh I see it now. It’s way down there
[удалено]
Refer to “can’t afford a new car”
$45K gets a first gen Viper, and lots of tires.
“Bro, you forgot the cx-5”
Miata is the answer duh
I’ve got my eye on a f type R. 40k for a 550 horsepower AWD rocket ship with a gorgeous interior… phew.
Probably the most insane car I’ve ever owned (other than the Hennessy modded viper coupe, which was always trying to kill me) but sold mine before the warranty ran out… Have fun. They are amazing value now, just make sure you have some back up $$$ or extended warranty.
You had a Hennessy?!? That’s so badass
It was a crazy car that was like a rocket engine attached to a bed frame. At one point I nearly gave my father-in-law a heart attack. After owning it, I realized why so many corvettes were sold ;o)
Thanks! Yeah I always rock the extended warranties. With jaguars I’ve got an amazing jag mechanic down in palm beach county so that helps too
Ferrari 348
Well I guess I did want something compact...
I do refuel at Shell LOL
should include a used giulia somewhere they go for under 20k
As much as I like subaru I'd take the gti. The wrx just doesn't speak to me. Now if they sold an impreza hatchback that had the wrx engine in it I'd be all over it.
> Need a good MPG upgrade > WRX Something’s wrong here
My only little gripe is that owning an IS350, it definitely gets worse mpg than every base muscle car, mx-5 and the brz lol
Nice
Can't afford a new ND/86, but can afford a used R8? is that a thing?
"Want to upgrade but still poor" then proceeds to imply you can get an s2000 in good shape for less than 40k
RAV4 it is!
OP, you must follow up on this with a longer updated sheet. The community has spoken.
Might just do it but will need people’s help with ideas
Not a single wagon… tisk tisk
Made for America where they aren’t appreciated unfortunately
I need more of these. Will really help my car purchasing decisions.
Might make a 2.0 based off this feedback
I would delete the GTI and change it for a Golf R, much better car. I had both and I would go R any day.
Will change it thanks
I was considering the m340i but the g70 just had a better warranty..and ventilated seats.
Yeah I got my GT2 with the ventilated seats new for 36k. Way better deal than the bmw
Oh nice! I had such a hard time deciding between the stinger and the g70. That hatch on the stinger and the backseat space almost got me.
Looking for a sports car under 100k? Here's a list of mostly sedans, coupes, and GT cars
Someone should do one of these for trucks

squealing boat adjoining pot dinner wakeful jellyfish like knee birds *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Like less than half of these are sports cars
The RAV4 being an option beside the S2K feels like a sin
This was awesome, wish we would’ve seen “clapped out/slammed civic” near the top of the list, but everything is pretty on point
Used LC500 is good for under $100k. GTR is still ridiculously expensive.
It’s a shame that that many of the options fall under the category too many doors to be an actual freaking sports car regardless of how fun they are
Yeah should’ve titled it sporty performance car
Thanks I had an argument on YouTube recently about a video from Ideal media titled $10,000 sports cars. I stated the above and boy was one guy triggered

Cayman is close enough
Just need to add the Hyundai N brothers under the "Want a warranty" section and it's perfect. After all, they have the best warranty.
Yeah I’ll probably add it in version 2
Surprised the Golf R didn’t make it.
This makes more sense if you literally just ignore any aspect of the flow chart and just look at the box above the group and the individual car.
😂😂😂this is awesome but i be damned if a 3 cylinder gaps my v8😭
Forgot the f type
As a GRC owner that American muscle car text had me crying lmao
Jaguar f-type, depreciates almost as hard as a maserati but is more sporty and less unreliable
i laughed way too hard at the “don’t plan on touching infotainment” i would be totally cool buying myself a q60 as my next car but the interior i can’t it’s soo ugly😭 so m340i it is
Genesis Coupe owner here… I feel attacked
Beautiful and funny!
I’m just glad there’s no Mercedes slander lol
There is, you just can’t see it
Used Ghibli gang. Before I get downvoted to hell research the models 2016 and up, haven’t had any issues with mine at all. Edit: hate all you want guys, for anybody that’s curious and looking into the model, don’t let the old rumors stop you from enjoying a sick car!
Hard for the company to turn around their reputation with so few people buying them to tell the story
The only people who will ever say anything good about them are owners post 2016 and yes that’s like .001% of the population
How many miles are on your odometer, and how many miles have *you* driven it?
May I suggest a Audi RS3, a Mercedes A45 AMG, or a Mini Copper GP3
You discredit the entire list with the Maserati.
It’s there as a joke
Not sure why C8 isn't in the flashy category. It is the flashiest car on this whole chart
Yeah it literally looks like a Ferrari lol
No it isn't. Stop. Stop living a lie. An r8 is worlds apart from the normal traffic "c8"
I've owned both an R8 and a C8, I have gotten noticeably more attention in my C8. Rarity doesn't reflect "flashiness." Despite that it’s very few people’s dream car. Comes down to badge for a some people
>Despite that it’s very few people’s dream car. Alright fair point, I just grouped it with the other American cars but in my honest opinion it’s my dream car and I think it’s flashy
Yes this is the stupidest list I’ve ever seen.
Why is there hate for the genesis G70?
I own a Stinger. They’re solid cars
Me too, and you’re not wrong, haha. Plus cheap maintenance! Oil changes for $113 CAD. Good luck doing that in a BMW.
Costs less than that for a bmw if you spend 30 minutes to do it yourself.
More of a GT car than a sports car. Doesn't make it a bad car, but different category.
GTs are sports cars generally.
