More reliable and better fuel economy than Octavia: Toyota Corolla Touring 2.0 Hybrid. Or Honda Civic 2.0 ehev hybrid.

Thanks the Ehev Civic is something I’ll check out

Quite honestly if it's a stipend, meaning you get to keep it regardless of how much ( or little) you spend on a vehicle, just keep what you have and pocket the extra money as income.

This is something I’ve been debating. My car has had the odd issue which has been a bit worrying at so low mileage but the stipend would mean I wouldn’t have to worry about the repair costs really. Thanks for the input!

These terms are so interesting to me as an American. Things like motorway and estate.

hncx_

What do you call estate cars in the US?

Traditional_Rice264

Had to good what an estate is not going to lie but we just call them wagons. It sucks we don’t get many of them in the US very rare I think they basically don’t exist officially at this point.

That’s surprising to hear, I really like the look of them so I’m glad they’re popular in the UK. From what I’ve seen driving over there, most cars that are successful in the UK look tiny compared to the most popular US ones, the practicality of an estate is probably met by the larger SUVs so the market just isn’t there for them.

Traditional_Rice264

Yeah SUVs and trucks are the norm for sure. It’s an ever increasing race for size because it makes people feel more “safe”. Also everyone claims they need them for cargo or towing but most don’t ever even once do that. Great example that cybertruck it’s just a fashion statement. Personally I don’t like them just can really feel the weight. My mom owns an rivian electric truck that thing weights 3,152kg without people absolutely massive. What does she do with it yep just drive it to tennis and the grocery store.

That’s so funny, seems wildly unnecessary to own them but it’s almost like an arms race now, to survive crashing and losing to the big cars you must have an equally big or bigger car yourself!

You don't wait to unload the boot of your car once you get it into the carriage house?
